Heya @Malon no need to apologise, totally cool, more than happy to do some edits!

Great point about distance and Kay's ship, that was purely an oversight (re distance and distance lasers travel, I remember now they tend to fizzle out fairly quick as well for that matter, didn't occur to me at the time), I will correct that :)

I just want to clarify regarding my movements and your breaking.

Your post describes Greybok as 'slamming on his break pedal' which I took to be a pretty drastic move and drop in speed, such that even if he did go straight back on the accelerator, it would take some time to build speed again. If I've misinterpreted that I'm happy to change, it's the 'slamming' that makes me want to be sure as to the extent, and then how quickly the freighter accelerates!

Regarding my movements, good point on my speed, I will adjust and clarify :) The only thing I wanted to mention is that I didn't think I was stopping firing to turn, and I don't think that would have taken at all long as his hands are already on the sticks (I imagine they're the same, like a joystick with a trigger? If that's incorrect that's all good and can correct), so there isn't really any transition time for that. That being the case, if the Starbird has to build speed again while I'm still moving (not at a great pace, but enough that I seem to 'rocket ahead of you'), that I would be able to throw myself right and out of angle fairly quickly. But perhaps I take one of the turret shots?

Again more than happy to edit though :D

Hey, thank you for being so amicable!

Quoting this part since it is the one being directly address. The term "slamming" was only meant to convey urgency. Obviously, any pilot worth their salt is going to know that if you swing above them, you're probably going to shoot, so he "slammed" on the break pedal to slow the ship and pop up behind you.

As for your speed/maneuvering, the thing is that it's not realistic. No pilot would continue shooting and instinctively veer out of the way if a plane suddenly dropped out of sight. It takes a second or two to even process what just happened, and by the time you have that "Oh s***, I need to stop shooting and move!" thought, you're already being shot at. Even the most experienced pilots would have a "Wtf?!" moment before realizing what had happened and what they needed to do. And, in Star Wars specifically, they'd probably be frantically checking their instruments to see where the enemy pilot went.

Competitively for the PvP, I understand why you wrote what you did, but realistically it stretches the imagination a bit. That's all!

Thank you again for your amicable response!

Anytime @Malon!

And aha lovely, no problems then, I read it as a description of force, so that's part of why I wrote as I did, I can address in my edit.

Movement wise also more than fair, I can change that up a bit too, can we agree on something like shooting forwards and having a thought to move, then doing so? I'm not sure if we feel he'd be able to dodge them all or need to take a hit in that time? I'm open to either (and obviously, given it's a pvp, we're both invested in a particular outcome there, but it felt worth asking and I'm unphased as to what we decide!)

I think it would be fair to take one or two hits, at least. Given the surprise and suddenness of the maneuver and the fact that my gunner is firing the second you come into sight, one or two (consisting of two seconds worth of IC time) would hit before your pilot would realistically roll out of the way and pull his own maneuver, but that's just my two cents c:

i gotta say I really appreciate how nice everyone is about these discussions. My last pvp site... well I'm not there anymore, if that gives you any idea how THAT community was.

so, yeah. It's nice to be here.

Yo @Malon, just wanted to clarify something. In your last post you mention that you ‘roll starboard’, do you definitely mean that as a ‘roll’ in that you don’t just turn starboard but shift on your horizontal axis yeah? What sort of angle were you imagining it at? Just cause you say you level out again and I wanted to be sure I was picturing it correctly:)

Picture the Millennium Falcon rolling to starboard during flight. And, actually, if you look a picture on the Starbird's technology profile and you'll see kinda what I'm talking about it angle-wise.

It'd be just enough to get behind you and bring you back into @Zay's line-of-sight. Let me know if I can make any other clarifications!

Well I am not really sure how many shots you can dodge at close range when my gunner is targeting you the way that he is.

It may be time to fire Slippken, cause he sucks too hard to be the gunner for my Level two pilot.

Imma put this one up for review i suppose.

Just dodging to avoid getting hit on our last round and failing to take into consideration that the gunner in my ball turret can just swivel to target you has placed you in my gunner's sights for this round so conveniently dodging again is really not going to work, in my opinion.

not really interested in killing you. by all means crash onto the planet and live to fight another day, but i really think I should have at least clipped a wing. Just missing you all the time is a little too convenient.

I can give it an edit if you want, I just figure that snapping around to shoot, based on your post before my last one, would have placed him at such an awkward angle that the shots would have been rushed, thus giving the leeway for me to dodge.

But sure, I can edit in a hit if you want.
