Force Unleashed had everything Shadows of the Empire had(to an extent), chances are they will both be Legends.

Wait, are you serious, or joking around? Either way, I'm excited.

I'm serious. Star Wars Legacies is the last timeline in our current SWRP mythology and canon. The next timeline will reboot the SWRP story with a brand new continuity, and will likely be based on the new official canon.

When can we expect that to happen?

Just as a head's up to everyone, this will be the last question I answer about the reboot, because that's not the topic of this thread and it's not something anyone needs to be thinking about right now.

We don't have a date for the reboot because we don't want to force an arbitrary ending date onto this timeline. Rather, we want it to end naturally. All we know is that it will happen sometime before the release of Episode VII, which comes out on December 18, 2015.

"Lords of the Sith" will feature the return of a Clone Wars character: http://bit.ly/1ilQexF
My bet is on Rex appearing as a Stromtrooper.

As far as the canon-changing goes. I've always (no matter how much I may have disliked them) considered the films (and The Clone Wars and Rebels TV shows) to be on a higher-level of canon than other things, plus I kind of figured it would happen anyway. So I wasn't not too surprised or disappointing at the announcement, and at least with some aspects of the EU, I won't be missing either. We'll just have to wait and see what they do with it all, I suppose.

I don't know how Rex could've avoided Order 66, but I think the idea of Rex being in the book could be really cool. Imagine him as the insurgent leader, fighting against the Empire - and Darth Vader, his former commander. I'm not sure they'd want to use Rex, since they might want to utilize him for Rebels instead, but it could be fun.

On the note of Jedi robes, if they're just a Tatoinne thing, I was wondering what explanation you had for Yoda's robes as well as Ghost Vader's robes?

Ghost Vader's because he's from Tatooine, fixed.

Yoda... because he's been living alone on Dagobah for who knows how many years, and I don't imagine it's conducive to maintaining most clothes... that, and well, can you imagine trying to shop for clothes in his size?

OT Vader wasn't necessarily from Tatooine. Uncle Owen was originally Obi Wan's brother until Attack of the Clones came out.

Though I always liked the idea of Yoda just being an old senile guy who walks around in his bathrobe.

I've come to the conclusion that I don't care if the EU is official canon or not, I've enjoyed it and that doesn't change. Heck if it means I get new plots and good stories and can just consider the other stuff alt universe even then I'm still OK with it. Basically I'm happy if they make good stuff, canon or not.

It's heavily implied that he is, due to Uncle Owen. The OT never explains how Vader/Anakin and Owen are or aren't related, and Owen clearly knew Anakin by the way he spoke in A New Hope, so people might assume they're brothers by blood (and we never hear Owen and Beru's name actually spoken in the OT, do we? Only in the EU were they named as 'Lars', I believe), and thus, that OT Vader was from Tatooine himself.

Though, the simpler answer to Ghost Vader having the robes? Yoda and Obi-Wan appear in their robes, but they want to show Vader's been redeemed. So they can't have him show up in his old armour, but as Yoda and Obi-Wan are in their robes... why not stick a robe on Vader too?

The bit I'm interested in most here:

And so, again, I'm gonna hold out until we see the films themselves to see what is or isn't kept. Clone Wars did this sort of thing already - elements of the EU were effectively bumped up in terms of canon by proxy of their appearance, whilst others were shifted around. And since the films are apparently going to involve a timeskip of thirty something years, again, the backstory to that might find themselves filled in by some events that the writers going forward still like. The Thrawn Trilogy may still have happened (however altered), or alternatively, it didn't. Luke's brief stint on the dark side may or may not be canon, it will depend on what they decide to do.

EDIT: Honestly the only thing almost certain be screwed over is the part of the timeline from the Legacy books onwards, because thats after when these new films will be, and thus way more susceptible to being dumped.
This is the key bit here. The article doesn't really say anything other than what we should have already assumed: that the movies are not going to restrict themselves to the EU. However, the EU is not being neglected altogether if it helps with the story that the new movies are telling.

Their names are in the novelization of ANH that came out before the movies written by George Lucas (although there was also a ghost writer).

Technically that's still EU, as it wasn't in the movie itself, unless I'm mistaken.

"In the new movies a young Mark Hamill meets an older Mark Hamill and proclaims: ...Father? To which the older man turns and declares: I, am not our father. Leonard Nimoy chuckles."

Their names are in ANH. For example, when Luke goes back to the farm after they've died, she shouts "Uncle Owen! Aunt Beru!" a few times.
