Riot in the Mines

[Dax Rau (TL8)]

The mandalorian dropship had landed planet side only 50 meters from the fort of the Pykes. Just inside the high walls of a canyon just around the bend from the small valley for which the Fortress rested.

Watch Captain Dax Rau led two other commandos and a group of marauders. By Dax's design the mission was to destroy the terminal or relay tower broadcasting the coded signal to every slave collar in the region. The outcome would be slave riots, more the remaining pykes on the planet could handle. They closed to within 40 meters of the fortress become Dax broke the silence for the comms.

"By the numbers boys and girls. Quick and dirty and then out and back on Nar Shaddaa for beers."

Dax was in his heavy armor with his carbine. His pistols, and beskad. Grenades and extra ammo in their pouches. He was also carrying a couple of explosive charges, just enough to get the mission done.

"Oya!"

[Radth Kelborn]

By the time the dropship had landed, Radth was itching as usual to get the mission started. But this time the warrior has learned to keep himself together and not let his excitement get the better of him. He quietly followed Dax as the Watch Captain led the way. They were what? Fifty meters from the location they need to be at? Well it could be worse.

Once the group was at forty meters, Dax broke the comm silence. Well as usual this will be exciting. Nothing better than blowing up a few things to cause a riot, and maybe take out some opposition in the process. Better yet there is the offer of beer on the table for when they get to Nar Shaddaa. Hell yeah!

Dressed in his medium armor, his echani blade on his back, pistol on his left hip and his rifle in his hands. Radth is ready to get the mission started and to cause some chaos for the Pykes on a level that they can't handle. The Kelborn beamed a loud, "Oya!" As he got his rifle ready with a lethal clip round being rammed home in the butt of his rifle.

[Brianna Saxon]

Brianna was ready and itching to go. If she had been closer to the shuttle door she would have been the first one off it. She packed her repeater, pistol, and two sets of grenades for this mission, decked out in her heavy armor. She was ready to get started. When the shuttle touched down, she was already up and at em. Rushing out at the rear of the group, she kept her eyes peeled for any near by hostiles. She was getting pretty good at raising hell it seemed, given this was the second mission she was given that followed this structure. Dax's enthusiasm was contagious to say the least, as Brianna felt a new wave of adrenaline hit her system as her bellowed out a 'Oya', and couldn't resist joining in. She glanced down at her repeater, and the trusty weapon was already warming up. She didn't know what the Pykes were capable of, but she was eager to give them a good black eye or two.

With their battle cry now filling the air Dax activated his jetpack. Three other marauders followed with jump boots, they would not get as far as the Watch Captain but it was the act that mattered. The three landed just 20 meters head and sprayed bolts as fast as they could pull the trigger.

Dax landed 10 meters ahead and a top of a speeder bay. A Security droid activated as it sensed Dax's intrusion, a cheap blaster pistol in it's hand. Dax shot it twice in the chest and it dropped. Throwing sparks everywhere. By then the alarm was raised and pyke thugs would start to pour out. 6 from the lower floor, and two more from windows on the second.

"Radth, take the other two marauders and flank to the rear while we draw their attention. Brianna, support the three up front with sniper fire. I'll plant the charges on the tower."

[Radth Kelborn]

Things appeared to be going smoothly fpr them. Then there was the blasted security droid. If the plan was to take it out before the alarm was sounded it was much too late. But Dax still managed to take the droid out.

"Yes, sir!" Radth replied quickly after Dax gave him his orders. Nodding to the two marauders to follow him. He will lead the two around to flank the opposition from the rear. As his group moved towards where they are to get into position Radth took down two of the six pyke thugs that had come charging out of the place.

When his group was finally in position Radth chimed in through the comm, "My group is in position Watch Captain." As he did one of his two men took out one more Pyke. To avoid getting hit he and the two maruaders took cover behind a massive boulder.

[Brianna Saxon]

Now that battle was upon them, Brianna raised her weapon and was ready to put it to use. Hearing Dax' order, Brianna moved to carry out the demand. "On it!" Brianna responded, raising her repeater and moving to bring up the back of the three man formation. She couldn't exactly snipe with the repeater, but she could definitely scamper some thugs. She opened fire, spraying the building and sending the Pykes inside ducking for cover. It wasn't perfect, but it managed to get the Marauders into for them to dispatch a set of Pykes with a well placed grenade. Taking cover behind some crates and left out speeders. Brianna gave another sweep of fire with her repeater, again sending the Pyke thugs scurrying for cover. "We are pinning the enemy down Watch Captain." She commed back, ducking back into cover as a blaster shot shot sparks just a little too close to her face.

Dax activated his jetpack again, a short burst that lifted him a top the second level of the pyke base. His two commandos were doing a fine job of taking out or holding off the enemy. Dax quickly shouldered his weapon. Then pulled the charges from a pouch on his belt. Activating the two, one by one, and placing them at shoulder height on the tower.

The job half done, Dax ran to the edge of the roof just above one of the windows the Brianna was pinning with her repeater. He pulled a grenade, armed it and tossed it in the window. Then activated his jetpack and leaped off the second story roof. The mandalorian cleared the building about 10 meters before the window exploded. Then with another tap of the button on his bracer the charges on the tower also exploded.

Dax landed just behind Bri and the other marauders. "Rad, Bri, job done. Lets fall back to the ship and wait for the riots."

Radth and the two that were placed with him worked to keep the attention on them as best as they could. Managing to take down one more of the scumbags. The warrior ducked behind the boulder as shots poured in their direction, though at the sound of not one but two explosions the shots stopped.

When Radth looked around the boulder he already knew what the explosion meant. It meant that the job is done. Looking to the Watch Captain he nodded then followed Dax back to the ship with his rifle resting on his shoulder, doubting anyone will be coming after them.

[Brianna Saxon]

Brianna hadn't even fired off a quarter of her energy cell when the explosion ripped the compound apart, and the young Mando knew exactly what that meant; it was time to go. Bits of rock and metal shards pinged harmlessly of her armor, as she withdrew with the rest of her unit, high tailing it back to the shuttle. If anyone had managed to survive that, Brianna highly doubted they'd try and come after them. And if they did, well, it'd be a short lived engagement.

Dax would wait until all of his forces including the other commandos were back together. Then they moved as a defensive formation back into the shadows of the high walls of the canyon where their ship was still waiting. The Watch Captain and one marauder would then take a position to cover the flank of those running into the loading ramp of the dropship. When every man was on board, Dax would be the last. Closing the ramp behind him.

"Bri, get us back to the rally point. We'll wait there to hear from team two."
