Captain Rico Bandero of the Dreamskate has quickly emerged as one of the greatest and most daring pilots in Galaxy*, deftly commanding his ship* through all manner of hazardous situations with the cool, calm hand of a seasoned pro*. Not content to let his skills stop at the cockpit bulkhead, Captain Bandero has also proven himself to be a consummate card player*, dice roller*, and wheel spinner*, and all around handyman with any tool one could conceive*- a classic ramble, gambler, and gunslinger*, garnering the admiration of men* and the desires of women* all over the Eastern Rim in his pursuits of adventure and glory behind the control yokes of his gleaming* chariot of a star ship.

While he may talk a good game, Imperial Bureau of Ships and Services records show that the career of "Captain" Rico Bandero has been entirely and monotonously unexceptional. He was first professionally registered as a deckhand on the "Jinlo's Folly" out of Malastare, where he held a Class B power cell handlers license and was registered as a journeyman copilot and certified fueling specialist- the height of his professional credentials. "Jinlo's Folly" was registered as non-operational scrap by her Captain in 494abc, afterwhich records show that one Rico Bandero applied for and was granted a commercial pilots license and tour shuttle operators permit in service of Star Tours on Glee Ansel. It wasn't until 498abc that Bandero applied for an independent shipping license and registered the "Dreamskate" as an owner-operator commercial vessel. That's it. That's all. You've just taken a look at all of the most exciting parts of "Captain" Rico Bandero's life thus far. Everything past this point is half empty cargo holds, fallen through deals, poor business decisions and flash-dried noodles soaked in recycled compressor water for dinner.
Personality and Traits
Rico is- above all else- full of himself. He is a braggart and exaggerator without equal and there are few strokes his ego wouldn't take kindly to, but that doesn't stop him from also being pragmatic when he needs to be. He's smooth and confident, a natural con-man and swindler, though he would bristle at those titles. Being egocentric only works out if you can also stay alive, and staying alive is increasingly becoming Rico's main focus in the ever evolving world of intergalactic criminal activity. He prides himself on being a quick thinker, always looking at all the angles and working the one best suited for him and whatever course he's currently set upon, whatever that may be- and who knows what that may be? Sometimes it seems like the Ardennian has the attention span of a wild gizka pup.
Gizka pups aside, when the man has a plan he's got a plan. He thinks through all the variables and pulls together the best course of action he can no matter the circumstances- "best" being the scheme that keeps him alive and makes him the most credits. In tis respect his biggest obstacle is that implacable enemy of all the overly ambitious and too-smart-for-their-own-good in the Galaxy- Lady Luck, that fickle tart. Riches and renown always seem just out of reach, no matter how hard he and the poor dumb bastards who get caught up in his schemes try- but, he comforts himself in knowing that it's only a matter of time until this all works out just fine.
Skill wise, Rico is a very competent pilot, even if his drunken boasts far exceed his actual skills. Life on junker star ships in the rim territories has also made him a handy mechanic, decent navigator, shrewd negotiator, and cool hand with a blaster even if he naturally tends towards cowardice and non-confrontation. Beyond that he fancies himself an artist of varied talents able to write, compose, sing, and play a mean Seven-Stringed Hallisket
