Formerly the Greatest Archaeologist in the Galaxy™, Resherani Farzoneh joined the Jedi Order after her homeworld of Naboo was attacked by the Sith. During the battle she took part in a daring mission to take down a Star Destroyer over the city of Theed alongside two Jedi, which inspired her to seek a place in the Order to prevent what had happened to her home from happening to others.
As a very new member of the Jedi, Resherani has...well a lot to learn about how the Jedi work really. Arrogant, extremely irreverent, with a big ego, a lust for credits, and a bit of a thrill seeking flair, she isn't exactly what one would call perfect Jedi material. She hates learning in a stuffy classroom, is easily bored, and her work as an archaeologist was best described as tomb raiding if you're being kind, and grave robbing if you aren't.
Still her heart is the right place.
Well, mostly.
Before the Battle of the Naboo she was more willing to stay as far away as possible from the fighting between the Imperium and the Rebels, the Jedi and the Sith, and the Cartel and whoever had pissed off the Cartel. Afterwards though it didn't take a lot for her to realize that you couldn't stay out of the way of a conflict like the one the galaxy is embroiled in.
Generally kindhearted, insanely optimistic, and with a newfound willingness to stand up against the evil bike gang of planet destroyers that are the Sith, Resherani might not be the best Jedi ever, but don't tell her that.

Resherani isn't a good archaeologist, but she is one. She graduated somewhere towards the bottom of her class, but she knows the basics, and she's exceptionally good with old languages. Old Basic's, Corellian languages, and Naboo languages in particular are in her wheelhouse as she's spent a lot of time in the areas where Corellian, and other Core cultures colonized thousands of years ago. She's likewise well versed in the native languages of her homeworld, such as Naboo, and Old Gungan. She knows a bit of the Sith language, it being used as the basis for several, but not enough to do more than crudely translate old ruins. In addition to those languages she knows in her employ, she's also fluent in Huttese, and can understand binary. All in all languages are one of the areas where Resherani really excels. It's a pity the translator droid is a thing.
A decent pilot, mechanic, and applier of first aid, Resherani is skilled enough to take of herself, and her ship for the most part. She's not a genius in any of the categories, but she knows enough to get by, and can handle the basics of all. But if you're looking for a hotshot starfighter pilot, genius engineer, or surgeon, look elsewhere. Her survival skills (aka not dying on crappy worlds because you don't know where to find water) are top notch as a result of the time she's spent on planets such as Zonju and Socorro.
Her skills in combat were recently tested in the Battle of Naboo, a battle where she mostly just charged into the teeth of the enemy and somehow managed to survive thanks to some stunning incompetence on the other side. Nevertheless as a result of the fighting is that she is a great deal more practiced in the art of the war. She's particularly skilled with rifles, pistols, and axes. She really likes axes in particular. As a novice (really novice) member of the Order, she's never done much with a lightsaber, except see other people use it. She doesn't even know what the hell a Shii-Cho is, much less why she cares.

Resherani's out for adventure, pure and simple. If she's got to desecrate a few graves to get there, so be it. That's been true since she first left Naboo, and started working as a glorified vulture. Irreverent, thrill seeking, with a dash of wanderlust, she's the kind of person who will charge headlong into a situation because it's better than sitting around doing nothing.
Well traveled, but not jaded, she has all the exuberance of someone leaving their homeworld for the first time when it comes to journeying to different worlds. She loves trekking out into the unknown. While she might not have much respect for...well a lot of things, she isn't a complete jerk. She cares more for the now and more the living, than she does for the dead and the past. She might be the kind of person who'd crack open a coffin to steal liberate some shiny metal, but she's also the kind of person who'd help a complete stranger for no gain.
She has a bit of an ego (well actually a lot), but is genuinely nice when she's being polite as opposed to just putting on a show. Meeting new people is one of the draws of the job for her, and she considers forging personal connections to be important. She'd rather negotiate than fight, but certainly isn't some idealistic pacifist who's going to let a little shooting get in the way of what she's after. She might not be the nicest person ever but she's not going to turn on a friend for a quick buck, or sacrifice a bunch of orphans to unlock the doors to a Sith temple.
Her general attitude is carefree, and optimistic. She's somewhat more tempered since the Battle of Naboo, having seen the destruction wrought first hand, but she still has a grin the size of Bespin stretched across her face more often than not. though still out for adventure, these days she out for it in the pursuit of more noble goals than just a fistful of credits. Since her homeworld was attacked by the Sith, she's grown a bit of a backbone, and now desires to ensure that no one else has to suffer such atrocities. It might sound a bit simple, but having teenagers that shoot lightning from their hands ravage your home, and endanger your family can lead to a shift in priorities for a person.

Resherani was born in the city of Theed. The middle of three children, her parents (Kamran & Azadeh Farzoneh) were fairly typical as far as residents of the city go. Civil servants able to afford a lower-middle class lifestyle, the Farzoneh family didn't have a long distinguished history. Their time on Naboo only went back as far as Resherani's grandparents who were migrant laborers from Druckenwell, and even before that it wasn't as if there was some great legacy from thousands of years ago.
All in all her childhood, and teenage years were relatively "normal", at least by the standards of peacetime Naboo. But as far as Resherani was concerned peacetime Naboo was a horribly dull affair. Full of swamps, Gungans, hippies like younger sister, and political activists like her older sister. Uninterested in politics, farming, or the illustrious business of exporting plasma, a horrible singer, and worse poet, she hung her hat on archeology. At the very least the holos made it look interesting, fighting evil Imperials to recover the Ark of the Dai Bendu and all.
Unfortunately the real world of archeology was more like the more boring lecture at the beginning of one those holos. In fact it was pretty much entirely that as far as Resherani was concerned whilst studying it at university. She wasn't much of a student, and unpaid internships that offered you the chance to dig ditches in the swamp for no pay to find Gungan dumps wasn't exactly what she had in mind. But she didn't quit, it wasn't like there was much better anyway as far as she was concerned. At the very least the actual fieldwork was occasionally interesting, especially when she got the opportunity to leave Naboo and go on digs elsewhere in the Chommell Sector. Not quite at the level of the holos, but there was still a definite rush at finding some new.
With her parents not exactly being rich, she worked hard to put herself through school. One of the things she's always been proud of in spite of her other (numerous) failings is the fact that she's very much a self made woman. On the other hand Resherani had no problems taking shortcuts, and cheating to get her way through classwork, but unfortunately her professors noticed. She ended up graduating, but not quit in the top 3/4's of the class. While very good with ancient languages, the fact that translator droids were a thing made it less of an accomplishment in the eyes of her mentors. Her failings were mainly in the realm of the classwork, writing, attention to detail, and being able to sit through a lecture without falling asleep and snoring loudly.
With a degree in hand, not a single recommendation, and certainly no job offers, Resherani didn't have a lot of prospects after graduation. With her grades there was no chance she was going to get a job in some nice cushy lab, or a nice cushy dig where the hotel was less than a kilometer away. But that was fine by her for the most part, and she struck out on her own with little more than the clothes on her back, and a handful of credits.
Her destinations were places like Socorro and Trigalis. Corellian colony worlds that had been inhabited for a long time, and were just lawless enough to warrant a decent paycheck for artifacts from them. Especially from Corellians back in their home system who had a thing for the "glory days" of their culture. The bonus being that Corellians weren't usually as liberal with insane booby traps as the vaunted Force Orders when it came to leaving things buried in the ground. The work wasn't exceptionally dangerous, and the loot wasn't anything that would let a person buy a small moon, but it was the kind of work she'd wanted since she'd attended university. She might not have been a grade-A student but she had the knowledge and skills to know what she was doing.
As with a lot of different professions where lawless places are frequented, the real danger was in the early days. Not knowing the right people, not knowing how to handle negotiations where having guns drawn is standard, and not knowing how to avoid the really sadistic nutjobs. Fortunately Resherani managed to muddle through without getting roughed up too badly. It didn't take her long to figure out that it was essentially the same as school. Some kids wanted to trade cards, some kids wanted to pay others to do their work, some stole lunch money, and some just liked beating people up.
Most of the real danger ended up coming from people who didn't want her poking around their sacred sites though. Especially on Socorro, around the Judges of the Dead where a lot of artifacts related to the dearly departed could be found. Whenever she went home she always played up how dangerous it all was, and compressed how long it took. The reality was that even "freelance" archeology still took a bit of time, and had long stretches without danger, but that didn't help a dramatic narrative. And besides she did have a carry gun for work, and knew a guy who forged documents. How could it not be exciting?
The truth was the most danger was ever really in was probably when she was on Naboo when the rakghoul plague broke out, and everything was quarantined.
The Siege of Corellia by the Sith Imperium brought a rather decisive end to Resherani's business in searching out Corellian artifacts. Never one to care where the war went, she took the good with the bad. On the hand people she knew from Corellia were now fighting and dying for their freedom. On the other it was a lot easier to fake permits and documents. The former greatly outweighed the latter, but she wasn't about to go get squished by the Sith war machine herself, so the latter ended up mattering more from a practical standpoint.
With everything in the galaxy going to hell Resherani made her way for one of the most hellish spots in it; Zonju V. A planet teeming with violence, and history it was a perfect place to find museum loot, assuming you didn't die trying. Resherani nearly did on several occasions, and actually got shot for the first time while searching for a lost caravan in the sands. She also killed for the first time, and learned that being a archaeological treasure hunter wasn't always all fun and games, and that not all criminals are cuddly Corellian smugglers. It was a less pleasant experience than hanging around on old Corellian colony worlds, but the money was far better. Even after medical expenses and shakedowns. And the force knew it wasn't dull, and that mattered a lot to her as well.
After a few years of running she was able to buy her own ship, and more importantly someone to teach her how to fly it. From Zonju the big money was whatever was buried in caravans that had gotten lost in the desert, and old swoop bikes that couldn't be found anywhere else. Both of which involved digging up a lot of junk that Resherani would rather sort through in an entirely different solar system. The booby traps put in place in some of them were also more elaborate, and usually involved in a bigger trap of sorts, but Resherani had a knack for sensing danger, and being able to get herself out of it. After a few more years on Zonju she finally got tired of the excitement that was the hostile wildlife, and wide array of sociopaths.
Following that, she was dead set on heading out into the rest of the galaxy in search of more adventure. And she found a few, most notably a fox person, and a pirate lady in a dispute over an old Tion treasure.
But when the Imperium invaded her homeworld, everything changed. Participating in a major battle outside the city of Theed, Resherani came across two Jedi, Hal Farstrider and Caden Ansgar, and set about taking down the Star Destroyer that hovered over the city of Theed with the two.
