Nope. Not unless there are extremely unprecedented circumstances.

I'm sorry but, then, where DO officers come from? I know it is different in different places, but generally one is nominated or appointed by the head of the executive branch. Are these nominees not soldiers, et cetera?

Also, what is wrong with NCOs? This rank is usually obtained by promotion of a soldier with reason. And the scope with which NCOs is wide and far reaching. NCOs, I think would be valuable if you are in need of leadership. It is a time of war, is it not?

And let's not forget Mustang Officers, Warrant Officers, and Unrestricted Line Officers (if applicable).

NCOs I have lots of, and they're for in field fighting, rather than directing battles. You don't have Sergeants directing battles with Generals. Officers on the other hand aren't appointed by the head of "executive branch", their first step in the army will be attending an Officer Training Corps (they won't sign up and be a private). After a year or so they'll "pass out" as a Lieutenant. They'll then be promoted up the ladder based on time spent and their accomplishments. On the whole they tend to be more intelligent, and more well off than the regular soldiers, and NCOs. If you're not intelligent you don't get into an OTC, they do reject candidates if their stupid. It's just the way it works.

A warrant officer is still an NCO (unless their a chief) and mustang officers are exceptional NCOs who have been handed a commission, it's not common, not at all, most soldiers would retire before then, and don't forget most just aren't good enough.

ALSO!!!

I still need officer characters. And not 18 year old fresh faces. I need characters who are experienced officers, higher up the ladder. If you want to do this, post here or PM me ASAP.

I'm happy to get my officer involved in the RP wherever he can. Just give me a yell, and I'm there!

Would I be able to bring in Kaori Natao? Old character that needs some tuning but she was intended to be working within the Republic. She was my only female character ever so I'd love to RP as her.
