The subject, Remi “Hands” Varik, showed possible signs of cheating while playing Pazaak at one of our tables; specifically he appeared to be counting cards. We have had similar issues with him in the past. Security Guard X was asked to approach Mr. Varik and suggest that he change tables. While approaching he noticed that Mr. Varik had accumulation of credit chips, Security Guard X walked to the chair in which Mr. Varik was seated, placed a hand on his shoulder and bent down and whispered into his ear. “The boss says it’s time for you to find a new table”

Mr. Varik’s face became angry as the words were spoken into his ear. “Do you know WHO you’re dealing with?”

“Indeed we do, so I am sure you can understand our concern, need I remind you of our last confrontation?” Security Guard X whispered as he tightened his grip on Mr. Varik’s shoulder.

Mr. Varik glanced at the large hand that was clamped to his shoulder, a large burn, the same size as the end of his cigar was visible. “Yes, I suppose I do remember you.” Mr. Varik said as his frown turned to a smirk. “If you don’t want another one of those on your other hand I advise you let go of me”

Security Guard X thought for a moment, and reluctantly removed his hand. He was attempting to avoid violence. “Time to go Mr. Varik”

Mr. Varik sighed. “Just a few more hands you brainless oaf, and I will be on my way.”

Security Guard X lost his temper at this point, pulling Mr. Varik’s chair away from the table. In doing so he caused Mr. Varik to drop his cigar and knock his credit chips to the floor. Mr. Varik stood up from his seat, and picked his drink up from the table, took a sip of it, “The boss said it’s ti….”as Security Guard X spoke Mr. Varik spun on the balls of his feet and smashed his glass into the head of Security Guard X. There were gasps and shrieks from the casino’s patrons as Security Guard X fell to the floor with a resounding thud, blood instantly began to pool around his head. Mr. Varik then located his cigar, picked it up put it back into his mouth and looked up into the small security camera overhead and said, “I expect my credits will find their way into my account by tomorrow morning, and you may want to call a medical droid for mongo down there. I don’t think he’ll be in for work tomorrow.” Mr. Varik then exited the casino.

“You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em,
Know when to walk away and know when to run.
You never count your credits when you're sittin' at the table.
There'll be time enough for countin' when the dealin's done.”

Remi “Hands” Varik, a forty three year old Corellian, is considered a classy man by most. He is always dressed in the most extravagant, fashionable suits and wears expensive jewelry including a wrist watch, various rings, and a necklace that was once his fathers. His hair is usually slicked back, black in color, but beginning so grey. He is skinny, probably because of how much he drinks, and average in height.

Remi doesn’t carry much with him, other than a data pad to keep track of his various shady business affairs and his bank accounts, a metal cigar case, always stocked with two unusually expensive cigars, smuggled from various planets, a cigar cutter made of Cortosis alloy, given to him by a rich friend as a joke after a close call with a Jedi left his previous cutter in shambles,a book of matches, a flask filled with Colt 45, and just in case of trouble he kept a small caliber slug thrower plated in expensive metals, which he won in a card game, tucked into his belt, concealed by his jacket.

Remi’s notable skills include his charisma, gambling sense, the amount of liquor he can consume, and a bit of hand to hand combat, along with a few dirty fighting tactics. His weaknesses are ranged combat, and saying the wrong thing, to the wrong person, at the wrong time. He also doesn’t know when to stop gambling, some call it an addiction, he calls it a living.
