I can wait. They should take all the time they need.

Yeah, same here. Old Republic is the only MMO that interests me, take all the time they need, Lucas Arts has messed crap up with more time in the past. (Most likely why it interests me so much is because I am a SW geek. Then again, it must be the case, as I am here.) :CAbove:

I still cannot picture Brandon playing a video game, and an MMO at that!

Psh. I'd rather than have released in beta the summer.

Total indifference. It's probably worth the time they're taking. Besides, I probably won't get it, seeing how you will probably have to pay to use the game.

How's that different than any other service you pay for?

Most other games you just pay to buy it, and that's that. MMO's are different then that, seeing how you have to keep paying to play the thing. Besdies, alot of those services are needed.

Yes, but the reason you keep paying to play is because they add new content, fix glitches, provide people who's jobs it is to fix various problems such as loot going to the wrong person or various in game trolling and monitoring spam bots. Besides it's 15 bucks a month not like you're paying full price for it every month.

Personally, I only really enjoy MMOs if you can RP on them, because most of them have great potential for it.

I'm still pretty skeptical on this game- I hate hype. I'll give it a month, but MMOs are expensive and time consuming, so unless it blows me away... Eh.

Good point. My parents, however, are a bit conservative with money, to the point that they're almost cheap. So, unless, I get parental approval, it will still be a no go.

Yeah. They -can- be good for RPing. We'll have to wait and see. I don't trust Lucas Arts though, they can still mess it up, drop it, and if they commit the former, then they will release the piece of crap, and then charge a **** load for it. :CStern:

LucasArts is the publisher, not the developer. The reason that KOTOR 2 wasn't as good as the first one was because LucasArts forced the rushing of the development for a Christmas release date, which they're not doing this time. BioWare has yet to make a bad product, so don't worry about it.

Ever played WoW's 'RP' servers? I still remember how many people complained about the people who actually were RPing.

I expect TOR to be the same way.

Galaxies didn't have a lot of RP, either.

Maybe the fabled story emphasis will put a bit more stock into the RP element, but I doubt the community is going to be half-assed dedicated to RP at all no matter what server type they're playing on (if Bioware goes that route).

Perhaps I'm a little pessimistic about all this, but you have to remember that Bioware can't do much to determine how the community is going to act when they get ahold of the toys when it comes to aspects like RPing. It's going to be sparse, but it'll be there - just don't expect a lot.

EDIT:

I suspect another minor delay or two, myself. They'll always see room for more polishing, and, really, the game will be better for it.
