Reformation - Interest Check

With the recent announcement of the new Time Line set to start in December, we have three months left of ’Dawn of the Republic’ to (as @Valen has said in his recent letter bring about that fact. Hopefully there are a few ‘politically minded’ players still floating around from the Senate days of Old (@TAC @Sangga @Krajin @Loco) who would be willing to take a look at this from a Senate side of things - much like the Ruusan Reformations, or indeed the Foundation of the Republic itself.

In short, I would like to know if there would be anyone interested in taking a look at a couple of threads around the Political Side of Reforming the Republic, either in Diverse or Story RP, with a focus on:

• Clandestine Meetings to ‘Regroup’ Political Capital from the Sith.
• Discussions and Plans to get ready to reform the Senate ‘off screen’ (AKA - Once the Timeline has ended).

Whilst I appreciate this may not be all that enticing for people, as the actual results of the threads won't ever be seen, I think it could be interesting to hold a couple of threads, in diverse if it makes people happier, to explore that talks and discussions/bargaining that must go about before such a big decision. The premise would be simple, politically aligned characters, having seen the Sith may be on their way out, scrabbling to get their ‘shit together’ in readiness for ‘filling the vacuum’ the sith will leave behind.

Naturally, I am not hugely aware as to what each faction is currently up to - so if there is a faction already doing this (@Aberforth and the Insurgency potentially?) please let me know!

Al-Ric has an interest in diplomacy, so if a) he survives the battle he's in and b) has the authority to do so, would love to engage in talks on the Jedi's behalf

Ray is not a political animal, but if you need to get to clandestine talks and would like to rp that out alongside the talks themselves, he's your man.

It's a shame that these aren't going to finish before the end of the timeline, as it would be interesting to see Richard's fate in a newly formed republic.

Good to see you’re interested - and it would be ideal to have a contact point with the Jedi, no doubt @Valen can provide further clarity on how that would in-character? (Want to avoid stepping on anyone's toes [or toe if you’re a Hutt?]). As for Clandestine Talks, which as you may have guessed - I would love to do - might be worth seeing if @Emily Huene and the Shadow Syndicate would be down for something like that, maybe @Meckabro if he is interested at this late stage of the Timeline.

Whilst I doubt either the Hutts or the Shadow Syndicate would be particularly enamoured with the concept of pledging allegiance to a Senate, there would always be a great deal of room for discussion around how Crime would be treated under the new order - and what such elements of the Galaxies Underbelly could bring to the formation of the New Order - worth a chat if nothing else!

I also see your point about the end of the Timeline, and if this gets more interest I shall speak to @Sreeya and @Malon around how maybe (and it is a big maybe) individual characters who do ‘kewl shit’ in this final stage could be worked into the Lore. Personally, I would like to match people up with RP partners and ‘Drive the Plot’ at this stage, so if Emily is up for it, or a member of her faction, potentially Ray could be the catalyst for the first ‘Reformation’ thread?

For the time-being, let me know if there is anyone else you think would be down for this - and until then, I’ll hold off on my further comments and ploys until I hear from other players/interested parties :)
