PERSONALITY

Due to the influence of his mother, Cæcus creates the immediate impression of an amicable aristocrat. When in the presence of others every step, gesture, or expression is calculated to effectively convey the dignity a man of his station ought to possess. He always seems serene, with nary a care in the world. Yet, beneath this air of resplendency is the self-doubt of a man terrified of becoming something he has no desire to be. Though he may appear calm, cool, and collected, there is always a nagging doubt in the back of Cæcus's mind of whether he is sufficiently maintaining the image of a gay, blithe man in control of his life and destiny.

Despite the fact that his entire public image is a lie, there are qualities within Cæcus's character that are genuine. He endeavors always to be honest with those he meets, save in situations where politeness is key rather than probity. He is hospitable to those he deems less fortunate than himself, especially in the case of women. As unhealthy as it is, he represses any and all negative emotions he has toward others and instead aspires to see the good in every man, no matter how vile or despicable Cæcus may inwardly consider them. Despite this, he is reluctant to establish lasting connections with others, as he fears that in doing so he may become involved in events he would otherwise not. Essentially, he is afraid of becoming his father.

Perhaps Cæcus's greatest flaw is his ambition; ambition which, in his mind, is for an ultimate good. On account of his father's corrupt nature, his ultimate goal is to bring up his family and establish for it a reputation of reliability and charity. For the moment, he intends to accomplish this by righteous means, without delving so low as to conduct business with persons he finds disreputable and ignoble.

BACKGROUND

Cæcus was born into a relatively minor Alderaan noble family that, on the surface, was insignificant when compared to other, greater Houses. While the family's acts of charity and goodwill bore little recognition, occasional whispers in the more opulent taverns and clubs of Aldera tell a far different story. Traitorous, Avaricious, Cruel. These adjectives have often been used to describe the House and its heirs in private circles, and Cæcus has yet to be exempt from such talk. Since his birth, he has been gossiped over by harridans and rumormongers alike comparing him to his ancestors and wondering whether he would fall victim to the vices and sins of past House heads. Had he only his father as a caregiver, such would have likely been the case.

Cæsonius Anaxitor Tallus was, above all, a cold, calculating man. A veteran of the so-called Hundred Years' Darkness, he did much to maintain the House's public venire of philanthropy and express his devotion to Queen and Kingdom, all the while suppressing the murmurs that revealed the man's seedier practices.
He desired to bring Cæcus into the fold of his criminal enterprises and, it was hoped, educate the boy as to the peculiarities of weapons smuggling, drug dealing, and other illicit trades. A saving grace, however, came in the form of Cæcus's mother, Acantha Dulcia Tallus.

Wedded to Cæsonius on the grounds of strengthening political ties, Acantha held no true love for the man and chose to stay only so that she might protect her infant son from his evil machinations. A kind, gentle sort of woman, she was everything Cæsonius was not. Thanks to his mother's influence, Cæcus was kept out of much of his father's businesses and privately tutored in etiquette, science, mathematics, history, and the ways of a true gentleman. Probity, integrity, hospitality, and benevolence were all core virtues taught to him throughout his childhood and early teens. In addition, he was instilled with deep remorse for his family history, as his mother saw to it that as he grew into a young man he was told of House Tallus's unsavory past. Because of this remorse, Cæcus desired to improve his family's reputation, with his first attempt manifesting in a military career. He saw action only on a couple of occasions before being injured to such a degree as to warrant his being discharged at twenty-three. In the end, his career lasted only five years, and he only succeeded in gaining recognition from a few men of lesser rank. His father, of course, was not overjoyed.

With that attempt having born little fruit, Cæcus spent the next half-decade learning and experiencing the ways of a tradesman, albeit from more moral sources than his father. Like his military career, he was met with minor successes and established contact with trading companies throughout Alderaan, but his operations had yet to expand beyond.

EQUIPMENT

When on his homeworld of Alderaan, Cæcus typically carries little with him save a dagger and a small pouch containing a finite amount of credits. When off-world, he carries a simple one-handed blaster with matching holster, all usually hidden beneath a cloak of some description. He has no body-armor of any kind upon his person, preferring instead to go without such protection (mostly because he deems it an unnecessary expense).

ANÆUS PELLAXUS VARGAM (W.I.P.)
[/fancybox2]
50f48dba-dbe1-4d77-a49c-e2b1773619bc_zps4beuuepy.png
Full Name: Anæus Pellaxus Vargam
Age: Twenty-five
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Homeworld: Bortras

Height: 5'11''

Weight: 186 lbs.

Eye Color: Brown

Hair Color: Brown
Skin Tone: Pale
Force-Senstitive: Yes

Faction: Exiles

Rank: Apprentice
Level: 1

PERSONALITY

Perhaps the most striking aspect of Anæus's personality is one that is only expressed when in the presence of one of two men in the entire galaxy. He displays total obedience to his father, a man he was trained since childhood to defer to in all things.

ABILITIES

Telekinesis (Force Disarm, Pull, Push, Slam, Levitate, Force Choke): Anæus is capable of utilizing a variety of telekinetic abilities. When in combat, he attempts to disarm his enemies and keep them at a distance, all the while either firing at them with his blaster or swiping with his lightsaber.

Force Shock: If given enough concentration, Anæus can summon forth quick sparks of energy by manifesting the Force around him. He can even direct the flow of the energy to specific portions of his body. He often uses his hands and/or individual fingers to act as conduits of that energy.

BACKGROUND

As Anæus's father would tell it, Vargam family history began with the youth's grand-father. Born Aramis Brætanus, he was one of a line of Force wielders of over ten generations. Despite asking after not only those previous generations but also his grand-father's time with the Jedi, Anæus's father was unwilling to discuss either further and demanded the child keep silent on the subject. Such was what happened from that day until the present, thus leaving Anæus ignorant of the majority of his family history. Still, his father did expound upon Aramis and his eventual expulsion from the Order, which centered on the murder of a Jedi and how he was supposedly framed for it. Being the obedient child that he was, Anæus chose not to question what was said and instead believed it.

Now older and somewhat wiser than he once was, Anæus ultimately desires to fulfill his mission and, it is hoped, gain an understanding of his grand-father and all those who came before.

EQUIPMENT

On his person, Anæus typically carries a single lightsaber with which to do battle against enemies. It is fairly sleek in form, and it possesses a gentle curve that bends away from his arm. The "pommel" and crossguard are golden in color, with there also existing a thin golden band set in the midst of the grip. The grip is permanently set into the hilt via ridge meant to provide a surer grasp and prevent the saber from flying out and away mid-swing. The remainder is composed of the rare metallic element phrik, which was dyed black. The crossguard itself travels upwards along the side set closest to the wielder's arm, which is more aesthetic than pragmatic in terms of choice. The "blade" of the weapon is the classic red associated with the Sith. Lastly, the saber itself is housed in a scabbard, of sorts, set to his right side, as he prefers fighting with his left hand.

In addition to a saber, however, Anæus also carries a standard B-8R Medium Blaster Pistol, which is his preferred ranged weapon due to not only its visual style but also its reliability and longevity. Despite that, he will normally employ his lightsaber in combat situations. When engaged in combat, Anæus wears MCV Mk. IV Light Body Armor, which serves to cover his torso and shoulders, thus forcing him to compensate for the lack of leg protection. When among his fellow Sith, though, he prefers keeping the armor somewhat hidden, and as such chooses to forgo the pauldrons, much to his possible detriment.

Despite his hatred for the Sith, Anæus has grown to love the color red and all of its various shades. He often clothes himself in vestments of rich crimsons and carmines, with his trousers being either black or grey. Likewise, he wears ankle-length cloaks in colder climates that are either of fur-trimmed black or grey, depending. Normally he dons nondescript shock gloves used in close combat when his saber is unable to be used to its full potential.

For interplanetary travel, he employs the usage of an RG-5 Starfighter accented with decorative red trims. Anæus also possesses an M-Series Utility/Astromech Droid with a red-on-white color scheme. Note that the ship and the droid were both supplied by his father, who gifted them to him as a sort of present for passing on to the rank of Sith. At least, 'tis what Anæus figures the reasoning to be. Regardless, he wasn't thrilled at receiving such things, and he only uses them when partaking in missions set away from the planet he is currently on.
