Rebel Alliance

Hello. I am new to the Rebellion, but I have so many questions that could only be answered by another Rebel. I was looking at the Galactic Map and I noticed that we claim a few planets as our own without actually saying that we protect them because our fleet and fighting forces can't. I understand that, but I also saw that the Bothans have their own space they protect, and I was wondering if there was anyway we could have an NPC alliance with the Bothans and or the Manaan Alliance. I'm not sure if having that sort of Alliance would allow the Rebellion the much needed repairs to their fleet or not? Or if the NPC unification would even be allowed. It was just a thought I had in mind.
Also another thing, I know Manaan has a healing source that is supposed to be better than bacta tanks, I'm not sure if the RP allows this source from Manaan or not, or if we even have it in the story line? But that could be another reason to push relations with the Manaan Alliance and the Bothans. I know as my Medic/Doctor character, he would try to push someone to make peaceful relations with the people on Manaan.

Anyway just a couple thoughts I had on the issue, I really want to see us gain some fighting ground and support throughout the RPG.

Bothans are notorious for being neutral and putting their own political gain above all else. So really it would come down to whether or not the Rebels have enough to offer them. IE money or protection from the Sith, both of which, I do not think the rebels really have at this juncture. I could be wrong but gaining their alliance would take some mega diplomacy.

Great idea, though! Not impossible for sure.

Yeah, Hairless Wookie brought up a good point. It's kind of the song and dance of the Rebellion unfortunately. You have to remember that the Alliance doesn't have all that much strength at the moment so not a lot of people will want to associate with the Rebellion. At this moment in the RP we're trying to gain allies through epic diplomacy and subterfuge. All our aggressive actions have to be hit-and-fades because we don't have the manpower or equipment to face the Empire in a stand up fight and we don't have the reserves to replace losses in men or material. Really, we're like the GCW Rebellion just after the Corellian Treaty. Eventually getting the Bothans or Manaan/Selkath to join us might happen, but we've got to do other things first like developing ourselves through Roleplay before we go for the big fish.
