Rear Guard

[Cher No Gorgon]

This is the first time that Cher has been to Naboo. But she and her comrade are not here to do sight seeing. That will come later once the job is done. Maybe. The reptilian and her comrade are here to make sure no terrorists escape through the back of the base, so the two had to loop around to the back to block off the back entrance. The Tiss has no idea if the two will have any back up or if they will have the misfortune of running into any opposition. The Raptor is not too worried about the possibility of opposition because she was confident that she and her partner can handle it just fine. Besides the sight of a freaking dinosaur and a Sith should be enough to scare anyone or anything away without a fight. At least that is what the Raptor believed. With her Westar Rifle in her hands, her frag grenades hidden in a pouch and her pistol carefully strapped to her waist, Cher was confident that she is ready for this mission. The dinosaur was even talked into wearing proper armor this time, as much as she didn't want to the reptilian agreed to wearing the armor. If she survives this mission, she is going to design her own armor that will allow the Raptor to use her jaws. For as of now thanks to the helmet, the Tiss is unable to use her jaws without having to take off her helmet first.

Hissing with excitement as the pair neared the back of the base. As usual the dinosaur was eager to begin the mission. As the pair got closer and closer the Raptor knew that soon she will be on the hunt as the two take down any and all opposition they come across. It is a big disappointment that she will not be able to sink her teeth into whoever or whatever the two Imperials come across, but she will be satisfied if she gets to use her massive claws on her hands or her feet. Of which only the claws are exposed, the rest of her feet being covering in armor. As the pair got within ten meters of the back of the base, Cher will look to her partner, "Do you think we will have anyone to take down here?" She will hiss, hoping that the answer will be a yes. She didn't want to have come all this way just to go home without a kill to take back with her. The one reason that she came, not just to serve the Empire, but because she was promised a very good hunt that will satisfy her need for blood. Not to eat but to satisfy her need to hunt. She hasn't had a good hunt for a while now, so the desire to hunt right now is at it's strongest. Though there is no telling what the Raptor will do when the opposition does arrive. As in if she will simply toy with whoever arrives until she gets bored and ends his or her misery or if she will just go for the kill and be done with it.

As the pair reached a little under ten meters from the base, the Tiss will start scanning their surroundings with her red eyes, her clawed hands gripping her rifle tightly. A finger on the trigger ready to start firing at the first sign of the terrorists. She will hiss with excitement as the dinosaur came to a stop to have a thorough scan of their surroundings. Although if the wind shifts in the right direction she might just be able to pick up on any opposition coming their way from the base or the thick vegetation behind the two Imperials. That all of course depends on the conditions of their surroundings and if the Raptor can pick anything up through the mess of scents that are invading her nostrils.

[Alexander Ayers]

Alexander stood amid a gaggle of evacuees. He and his friend Prax were to guard the last of the people being evacuated. It was an important task, rebellion and revolution lived in the hearts and minds of people who believed. Without them they would be nothing. Even if they were just citizens of the GA they were just as critical at this juncture as any other member.

Alex was ready, he knew that it made tactical sense for the Empire to attack this location, so he was seated near the gates, his datapad open and patched into the base security systems. The cameras gave him a view of the outside and anything approaching. He saw them coming, of course but what he was not expecting was just what was coming.

A giant lizard. And a smaller being.

This was going to be a weird day after all. "Prax!" He yelled to his friend. "They're here! And they're not kidding around! They've got some sort of lizard that has to be at least 23 feet long. It's unreal." He turned to everyone else. "Get if the border guns everybody! Let's give them hell!"

Alexander grabbed a lightsaber in one hand and his blaster in the other. He checked his grenades and headed for the boundary guns.

[Shadzai Nuhkoir]

For once, Shadzai wasn't the big guy of the group, while it wasn't by that much(If you don't count the tail), the sentient dinousaur was of greater size than him, then again, the giant Massassi was still taller, being a hulking figure among the already imposing Sith subspecies. He was rights beside Cher, the two of them together probably looked as intimidating as eccentric, hell, if they weren't armed and prepared to kill, someone would probably think that Shadzai was simply taking his pet lizard for a walk.

Looks aside, the two of them where there on a mission, they were there to make sure that not a single one of the terrorist made it out of there alive, and he was going to make damn sure they succeeded, he had already failed once and it really cost him, he was not going to fail twice. The Massassi was excited, battle always thrilled him but...there was something different about fighting people that just wanted to survive, that just wanted to escape, when a prey is cornered, it is forced to go all out, to use all of its weapons and fight for dear life, this was no different.

Shadzai was wearing his tribal armor, covering most of his vital areas without making him look less good than usual, his dual phase lightsaber in his right hand, the red light lightening up his scarred arm, while he had his blaster pistol on his robotic left hand, ready to be used, secured on his back he obviously had Lucille, his big two handed hammer that he carried everywhere. "Most likely, I doubt they are brave enough to confront the main forces without retreating" He said, a smile forming on his face as he sensed the reptilian's eagerness "Or at least I hope so, I need to take my anger out on someone"

And just when he said that, he spotted movement, a man moving near the gates and yelling something at someone else, the Massassi noticed the man's lightsaber once they got closer and smiled "Jedi" The Massassi said, his smile still on his face while he started concentrating, calling upon the force and building power that he would probably use soon, it was true, the jedi were alive and kicking, Shadzai always dreamed of fighting a jedi and now it was his chance "This is going to be fun"

[Prax Dek]

Prax was doing what he enjoyed most, helping people and defending those who could not defend themselves. There were plenty of personnel that needed to be evacuated from the planet and the word was that the Sith had arrived on planet already. Prax did not know how close they actually were but he could guess pretty easily. He had opened himself to the Force and could feel a darkness approaching, much like a thunderstorm across an open plain.

It made sense that the Empire would come here and attack. They had been given the information and it was the way of Empires to stamp out rebellion as quickly as possible. Prax had seen that mentality first hand in the slave pens of Nar Shaddaa. It was not a lesson that he took lightly or that he was likely to forget. Grabbing bags and boxes, he helped people along the path, trying to get them to safety before the Sith arrived. He would not be successful at that task.

Looking to where Alexander indicated, Prax’s eyes widened. He saw a huge lizard like creature and a Massassi heading straight in their direction. Prax’s features hardened and he slowed his breathing to center himself. He would not allow emotion to rule him as he continued to push the last of the evacuees from the area. He turned to face the two approaching Sith, pulling out his twin lightsabers and igniting them in defiance of the evil that approached. They were twin purple beams of light, held at the low ready as he watched the approach of the two intruders.

As Alex started to run towards the Border guns, he picked up his pace and followed after the other man. He did not want Alex to challenge the two Sith on his own, it was not tactically sound. He knew there would be a fight, sadly there was no way it could not be.

[Cher No Gorgon]

Cher was not sure as to what to expect from the terrorists. Yes she expected some level of a fight since they are eager to escape and live. But some are just not brave enough to face the main forces head on. So they are taking the coward's way out by sneaking out the back of the base. But whether they are escaping out the back out of cowardice or being ordered to, Cher and her companion still has a job to do. A job that they cannot fail. The Raptor is not sure what happens to soldiers who fail their mission, but she can imagine the consequences can be severe depending on how the Emperor reacts to the news that a team failed. Cher is not wanting to learn just what can happen if a soldier fails.


Shadzai's reply to her question made the reptile grin with excitement, "Personally I hope that there are at least a few who are brave.. or stupid enough to face us. I haven't had a good hunt in months." She will tell the giant Massassi, whom was just a bit taller than her. Yeah she had him beat in size and weight but he had her beat in height. If she was on all fours she would appear to be the Sith's pet lizard over a soldier walking along side him. The Therapod trilled with excitement with the knowledge that she just might be getting that hunt that she had been itching for.

Looking ahead the reptile can see the movement that her comrade was seeing. Cher can somewhat hear that someone was yelling at someone else in that direction. So perhaps they are yelling that they need to get the hell out of there or they are preparing to fight. The Tiss snorted as she saw the lightsaber. So it is true that the Jedi are still around. Well this is getting interesting already and the fight hasn't started yet. The Reptile wondered how she will face the two jedi, "This is going to be interesting." She will hiss as the Raptor armed her rifle.

[Shadzai Nuhkoir]

"Lets get this party started then" Shadzai said with a vicious smile on his face as he pointed at Alexander, shooting only once at him, he could have shot more times, but he merely wanted to draw his attention and male sure he understood that their fight was already starting, the shot would hit him in the chest if he somehow wasn't able to deflect it.

After that, the Massassi would put the blaster away, no point in fighting lightsaber users with conventional weapons that they could simply reflect. "Come, jedi, let me show you that the Sith are not without mercy by granting you a warrior's death! Let us test our MIGHT!" He screamed, challenging them, his shouts and his voice matching his imposing figure, his lightsaber activated, the force still gathering around him and his eyes glowing a sickly yellow.

This fight would determine if the terrorists would be able to live or die, he knew all too well, the jedi would have to give their all, and so would he.

 

[Alexander Ayers]

Alexander's lightsaber snapped to life into his hands as he ran. He batted aside the single bolt that came flying through the gates at him easily. They could shoot at him all they wanted, but they still had to get inside first if they wanted to actually fight...which gave him an idea. They were still outside the gates. All Alexander and Prax had been charged with doing was making sure that the last contingent of refugees got off world safely. They didn't have to fight the Sith.

"Blow it out your ass!" He yelled back, flipping the odd looking Sith duo off and diving behind a nearby ship. There were still a number of people scrambling to get on the ships and he had to buy some time. He clicked his comm on and spoke to Prax. "Get everyone onto the ships. Do it quick, we can just get out of here and save everyone before they get inside." He knew that, even if they could win here, the base would still be lost. He had to chose between fighting and saving the lives. It was an easy choice.

As Prax scrambled to herd the people onto the ships, Alex pulled a concussion grenade from his belt and drew his blaster pistol. He armed the grenade and rolled, using the Force to give it speed and direction--a subtle touch that wouldn't be noticed in the mad swirling of energy that was the base. As the grenade rolled to the gates where the Sith were, Alex popped his head and arm around the side of the ship he was hiding behind and fired four shots. Two went to the Sith man and two went to the head of the giant lizard. In their haste to protect themselves from fire, Alexander was sure that they would not notice the grenade rolling across the ground like so much trash.

[Prax Dek]

Prax saw the giant lizard and the Massassi come into view and he knew he had to hustle. He continued to herd the people towards the ships, making sure they got onto a ship and did not leave any loved ones behind. He was meticulous as only a Jedi can be, making sure that no one was harmed in the rush of bodies caused by the sighting of the two Sith. It only took a moment as the rush actually sped up the crowds around the ships who up to that point had been milling around, not really moving with a purpose. It gave Prax’s pleas for speed some authority and the people moved onto the last of the shuttles.

As the last of the shuttles started to close its doors, Prax heard the shots from Alexander towards the two Sith. Prax turned and moved to cover as well, finding a spot roughly 10 meters from Alex and in cover. He raised his R5R Blaster Rifle and fired three shots at the huge raptor target. He aimed one center mass of her chest, the second at her left shoulder and the third at her haunch where her leg met her body on her right. The spread of shots would make dodging tricky and ensure at least one-shot slammed home on the unarmored Sith. Prax remained in cover, he watched the twin Sith as he pulled in the living Force to augment his reflexes and heighten his senses in response to possible return attacks.

[Shadzai Nuhkoir]

The Massassi smiled after hearing the rebel's taunting and seeing him flip them off, not because he found it funny, but because of what was about to happen to him. The Massassi would quickly call upon the force he had gathering since the start and use all of it to pull Alexander towards them mid-dive and before he could take any sort of cover, using his free hand's motion to guide the force and make his attack stronger. The force pull would be powerful and quick since the rebels allowed Shadzai to concentrate, Alexander would have little choice but take it since he hadn't done the same and was more focused on diving behind cover than protecting himself against such an attack. Because of that, the man would be moved towards them a few meters before falling to the ground and roll because of the momentum he would get for it.

If the sentient dinosaur wanted to shoot at him, now it was the perfect chance to do so, Alexander would not be in position to use his lightsaber to deflect the blaster bolts away, in fact, he would probably have to deactivate it if he didn't want to accidentally cut himself in pieces while violently rolling on the floor, not only that, but he wasn't standing behind cover and the Sith were ten meters away from the gates so any blaster shots would hit really fast. The fact that Prax would still be herding people while this was happening was also bad for Alexander, the dinosaur had enough time to shoot at him before his friend came to help. Since he had been pulled before he got behind the ship, he wouldn't get to shoot at them or throw the grenade either, obviously.

The Massassi would then start calling upon the force once more and use his lightsaber to deflect the shots that came at him or Cher if necessary, at least the ones that were closest to him since he was standing right beside his partner.

[Cher No Gorgon]

Hearing the jedi's taunt and seeing him flip the odd duo off, the Raptor released a hissed chuckle of amusement. Too bad they are possibly going to kill that jedi. She is starting to like him already. But he is an enemy of the Empire and will be dealt with as such. Though as the two got closer, the Raptor will remain next to her comrade. With there now as she can see, two jedi that they will be facing. The Raptor will have to be alert and on her toes. This will not be the first time that the therapod will have faced multiple force sensitives at once. The dinosaur had helped another Sith track down sister sorceresses, during one event the Raptor learned a lot on how to face such foes. The raptor looked to her partner, seeing that he is ready for the fight that is to come. That makes two of them.

The Raptor watched as the two jedi tried to herd people onto those ships all the while watching the two Imperials approach, and trying to fight them off. "Let's see how good they are at multi tasking shall we?" She will ask the Massassi. A hint of amusement in her voice as she watched the two jedi and what appeared to be other people scurrying around as they made their way to the ships.

The sentient dinosaur will not have to worry about Ayer's attempt to attack. As the rebel moved to attack, Shadzai was already onto the Jedi and ready to act. How he did it was interesting to the Raptor as he pulled Ayers out where ever he was at, Cher didn't see where the man had moved to while she was busy dodging the two bolts that Ayer's might have shot shot at her if he managed to get the two bolts out of his weapon before he was pulled. But now with Ayer being pulled towards the two sith, the Jedi is in fact vulnerable to an attack from her since he will have to deactivate his lightsaber to avoid getting cut up by his own weapon as he tumbled on the ground. And with his friend possibly being too far away to assist him well he is a bad spot now is he? The dinosaur will fire two bolts at the helpless Jedi.

With the two jedi's being in front of the two Sith, the Raptor will see Prax shoot at her. Two of Prax's bolts will miss as the Raptor swerved her body to the left to dodge the first bolt, to the right to dodge the second. She barely dodged the last one as she moved back to the left, the bolt scrapping against her armor, creating a big, burned rift in the metal. Luckily for her the Raptor's armor will absorb some of the damage, protecting her hip from the damaging affects of the bolt. Though she will feel the familiar burn trail the bolt will leave as it skid across her armored hip. The Raptor hissed angrily as she felt the burn. That Jedi she will personally make pay. Her dangerous hiss was echoed by her helmet a bit. The stupid Jedi prevented her from seeing if her shots produced any results.

[Alexander Ayers]

Alexander felt the power of the Force grab at him as he headed into cover and pulled the grenade off his belt. He let it drop and roll as the Force pulsed from him, breaking the Sith's weak grasp and sending the concussion grenade skittering unnoticed across the ground. There had not been enough time for him to cement his grasp on Alexander's body and he planned to take full advantage of that. He crashed uncomfortably behind the ship, the Sith's actions enough to cause him to stumble, but not enough to drag him across the ground as he had planned.

Alexander turned his head, covering the ear closest to the blast and hiding his eyes from the flash. The Sith had been so focused on Alexander that he had done anything about the grenade rolling across the ground, and his partner's attention elsewhere, Alexander knew it would be a true strike. The Sith and his lizard would take the concussion grenade without having made any move to get away from it. It exploded as he had planned and Alexander was already following through.

Using their currently disabled state to his advantage, he plucked a fragmentation grenade off his belt, turning out of cover and sent it flying at them immediately after. He gave no telegraph to his actions in the Force and, with them both blinded and dazed it would land neatly in front of the Sith and explode, catching him neatly in the center of the blast. Alexander's pistol flashed, sending three shots to where the Sith's chest had been.

[Prax Dek]

Prax felt the Dark side of the Force flow from the Massassi and watched as the Sith attempted to pull Alex towards him. The Force use from the red skinned alien was enough to bring the attention of the other rebel to him. A slight adjustment to his firing stance brought the Massassi within the crosshairs of Prax’s R5R rifle. Calming his breathing and focusing on the Force, he pulled the trigger three times.

The three bolts sped towards the red skinned Sith, one aimed center mass of his chest, the other aimed at his pelvis and the third came at the left leg of the alien. Prax knew with the spread of the shots, there was no way the alien could block all three with his blade, nor could he simply dodge them. The shots had triangulated their target and would strike home. Maintaining his emotional calm, Prax continued to watch the Massassi as the shots sped towards their target.

After firing, he remained in cover, eyes watching the Massassi and its raptor accomplice. He saw the flashbang roll out from Alex towards the Massassi. He remained in cover, ready for any return shots that might come his way. Prax closed his eyes just before the flash went off, ensuring that he was not blinded by the grenade. He remained centered in the Force, his reflexes tuned to combat.
