The rebel command center was alive with activity in the morning. Mechanic and repair droids alike worked furiously on prepping ships of various types. Staff members and other rebels through the hallways went back and forth, carrying supplies and such for the jounery ahead. Various orders continue being called out through the intercom throughout the ruined temple.

Of course with all these efforts it still will take time to be completed.

Commander Hugo Ion sat in a chair alone within the council chambers. Since learning about the capture of Arda Breaux, he stayed up without much sleep. That time had been spent making calls and sending messages to rebel commanders on the field and local allies across the galaxy. I will not have Dantooine happen again here He silently vowed, typing the last of a new message to one of his subordinates.

The Durosian felt older than he actually was in that moment. Placing down the data pad Hugo lowered his head, exhausted both mentally and physically. Even so there much to be done he knew that. You’re only mortal. Hugo tried to tell himself but it did not lessen the burden on his weary shoulders.

As if to shake that threatening despair Ion slammed a fist onto the table. Now was not the time to wallow in self pity because his rebels were depending on him. He will do everything possible to save them so they can carry on the struggle. His commlink beeped, and Hugo pulled it and said.

“Yes Dyur?”

“Sir, the Mandalore has arrived. She is heading your way now.”

Nodding in understanding, Hugo replied. “Thank you lieutenant. Make sure we’re not disturbed unless it’s an emergency.”

“Will do Commander.” The voice on the other end replied before deactivating. Once the call, Hugo stood up, preparing for this fateful meeting. Recently he had informed Raz Solus about what is happening and she agreed to meet in person.

He didn’t know what the proud warrior planned to do though but the Durosian suspected she won’t hold back whatever it is.

Raz was still recovering from the horrific injury to her leg. A beskad had torn through her thigh and down the side of her leg. She was still told to get bedrest, but that was when she had gotten that fateful call from the rebel Commander. Raz was true to her word - despite her reservations towards the Alliance and the Jedi, she had made a promise to the cause and the alliance. He didn’t mention much over comms in order to avoid risk any interception. As a result, Raz only had a vague notion of what this was about - but she assumed something had been compromised.

Ignoring the hospital’s orders, she fought through the pain and put on her armor and carried a single crutch to support herself. As a result, by the time she had made it to his chambers, it took her longer than usual to make her way over. Two Solus soldiers came with her, though they were only there to assist her should she physically need it.

The last time Hugo saw her, she was a Clan leader. This time, she was Mand’alor and she had a cybernetic arm and an injured leg. It was becoming rapidly clear just how much being involved in the war was costing her. Despite it all, she held her head up high and slowly made her way over, spotting Hugo in his chambers.

She waved for the others to wait outside as she stepped in, closing the door. Raz nodded to him before easing into a seat, “Commander,” She said quietly, “Pardon my delay. The manner by which I became Mand’alor wasn’t easy,” Bitterness dripped from her voice. The pain of having to kill Wyatt still stung at her.

“I want to begin by thanking you for truly proving yourselves to us. The alliance was there when my clan and I were attacking Corellia. It was a surprise, but it invigorated in my people faith in you and your people. It was the first time we had seen the rebels openly and fearlessly stand against the Sith, and it was by our side. It was the first time my people fully and truly believed in this alliance,” She smiled beneath her helmet, “As a result, whatever trouble has befallen you, I now stand with you not only as a clan leader, but as Mand’alor. Your men offered my people aid when we did not expect it, so we shall return this effort tenfold.”

Raz hadn’t missed the hustling and bustling all around the facility, “Based on your encrypted message, I can guess you have been compromised. I do not need the details, but there are a few courses of action - the first is that I can send strike teams to conduct raids to keep the Sith busy and buy you time to evacuate. I can also send others to help in your evacuation efforts. I can also mobilize parts of my fleet. Let me know how we can assist you, Commander, and you shall see it done.”

The Commander didn’t know if he should be surprised or not to see the present state Raz Solus was. I imagine it hurts like hell. As one leader and to another Hugo gave his ally a salute when she stepped into the chambers. He acknowledged her explanation with a silent nod, not feeling at his best either.

When Mandalore Solus then proceeded to thank him for his rebels joining the attack on Corellia, Hugo paused. So she wasn’t aware the attack was done without our knowledge. The Duros realized before shaking his head confessing.

”Truth be told Mandalore we did not authorize that operation. Valentine Rayth and the other members acted on their own without our consent, especially the Jedi reveal. In fact I was pissed about it at first.”

He let that fact sink before adding. ”That is in the past, however. I’m now relieved to know their actions impressed your people. In fact it all helped diverted attention from Imperial Hutta long enough for us to knock out the holonet network there.”

Ion glanced out the window behind him briefly watching a party of light freighters flying away from the headquarters. Sighing, the Durosian considered his counterpart’s offer. Looking back at the human, he then said.

“Yes any aid your Clans are able to give us would be most appreciated. I will in return provide you any rebel operatives available to join your warriors in the diversionary strikes. Also the coordinates to our bases needed to be evacuated will given be as well. We will do all this together as allies.”
