Ramikadyc - a commando state of mind. Elias watched the group he was training with speak. Some were there because they needed training in stealth and evasion. Clumsy, with no ability to hide effectivly even in the dark - and dark it was to. The warm light came from the crackling fire burning bright in the clearing of the jungle. Mandallia was the perfect place to train, especially for camouflage with so many examples around. Elias was not just to train them how to hide, but also how to spot what was hidden.

He recognized several in the group as they talked to each other waiting for commencement. Relaxed, and wearing the basic light armor they had received upon arrival, the group of seven soldiers exchanged greetings and caught up with each other. Graves, Wakiza, Kyouteki, and Saviin. These were only a few of the ones that Elias could call by name. There were two unfamiliar faces, but he would know their names soon enough as well.

Finally he heard it. Footsteps trudging through the dark. Their final man. Thanos, Elias remembered his name to be. He made his way into the firelight, and as he paused by Elias spoke: "Sorry i'm late vod." Elias nodded and gestured for him to go over to the others. Stepping up onto the fallen log that worked as a bench at the camp, he waited for silence.

"Seems like we're all here." He said to the group in front of him as they turned their faces upwards. "I hope you go home form this dark night having learned something of value. Maybe something that will save your life someday." Elias nodded, now sure that he had their attention, and stepped off the log. He felt strange being on a higher level then them, looking down. He was not their superior, he was just there to share knowledge.

So knowledge he would share.

Saviin felt comfortable amongst fellow vode. Most of them she knew, but others were new faces to her. She was, like always, drinking from a small can of Juma Juice, a substance she was almost addicted to. She didn't really know what they were gonna do, though. Some training, probably. Suddenly, the man who enlisted her help for Renelo stepped up a log, looking directly down at them. He gave a classical "We're all here" speech, and when Saviin thought appropriate, she asked:
-"Maybe now would be a good moment to tell us why we're here, no?"-

Graves was leaning on the edge of the circle, a place he was accustomed to. He didn’t like being in the center of anything, that didn’t mean he would take the lead or the spot light when asked, but he would stay out of the way until he was asked to do so. His distance from the group was as much for his own comfort as it was for the other Mandos. He flicked his cigarette casually onto the moist jungle floor and took another drag, letting it out slow. Most weren’t fond of the smoke.

There were a few new faces and a few he had seen around the mess hall, but there was one who stood out among the rest. Elias had been there from the beginning, in fact Graves had been there for Elias first mission as a Protector and although Graves hadn’t known it at the time it would be his first mission for them as well.

Elias was giving some speech about “dark nights” and “saving lives.” Graves took one last drag and flicked his cigarette out as a female Mando he hadn’t met yet said, “Maybe now would be a good moment to tell us why we’re here, no?”

“Yeah, vod. What have you got in store for us beside this dangerous dark night?”

After having waited for some time amongst a circle of fellow warriors, Wakiza was very much glad that things were getting started. Though no one but a keen observer identify his eagerness since he putting on a stoic appearance in front of the others. Wakiza did not why he was summonned but it must be good reason considering what Elias said so far. He just stood silent with his arms folded in front of him, waited for further explanation from Elias awhile he heard the others ask questions. He recognize the human woman, Saviin but the other man Grave, who was small distance away he knew only by reputation as well of the others present.

Whatever task Elias has for us I will carry it out to the best of my abilities.

Elias noted their questions and grinned. His scarred face, normally serious and stoic, twisted the smile into a crazed look by the firelight. Only those who truly knew him would see how sincere the expression was. "Aye, it's dangerous Graves." He said with a nod. "Tonight we're going to learn a few tricks to use the danger that hides in darkness against our enemies." He said with slight relish. This is what it meant to be a warrior. No fear. Seeing everything as an opportunity. Maybe this is why Sisk put my in charge of the Netra Gaan, his thoughts murmured to him.

"Saviin, what can you see beyond the firelight?" He asked voice suddenly low. His face was dead serious once more. He lifted his arm, pointing into the shadows. He raised a hand, to keep her form answering and continued. "Shadows are always moving to the eyes." He paused, letting them stare into the night. All was quiet, all but the breeze rustling the branches. "That is why it's so easy to hide in them." He said louder now, to break the sudden moody air. "Eyes can be decieved, eyes can be tricked, and so can ears."

"The key to stealth vode, is not only knowing where to move, but more importantly when to move. This, is why we are here to night."

"A little test of sorts."

Elias walked over to the fire as they watched, and lifted two poles. Each was about seven feet long, and the end was seemingly wrapped in clothe. One forest green, and one black. He handed the green one to Thanos, and the other to Wakiza. Thanos immediately unfolded the clothe, and it billowed out in a sudden gust of wind to reveal a plain flag. A suspicious look came over Rethis' face, a man more to the back, closest to Graves. "This ge'kaan will be simple, yet challenging."

"I will split you into teams of four. Each group shall go to where I assign them in the surrounding area." He reached into a large pack at his feet and removed two objects. One, was a small pistol. The other, a stun baton. "You will each have one of these, the pistol set on stun."

"The purpose of this exersise will not be lost in the adrenaline. You are not to be seen. I will be walking amongst the trees, and if I see you, whether you're in mid combat or not, I will shoot you." Elias paused to let them mull this over. "First squad to capture the enemies flag and arrive back here succeeds."

After a pause he stopped the pacing he had started while explaining the scenario, and turned back towards the group. "Any questions?"

He sat lightly on a log his form leant back against a tree as he found himself eying the small group around him, with his helmet sat lightly between his feet and small dual blasters strapped to his thigh’s his only other weapon was his vibro-sword strapped against his back. Although it was only trraining he knew that it was always good to be prepared for the worst no matter what, seeing Elias describe the scenario a sudden grin formed on his lips and a light filled his eyes as he chuckled. It was a pity his Vord-cat was not able to participate though he had sent her off to hunt for food while the task was being decided, grinning as he looked out at the shadows he suddenly lifted the helmet and placed it on the log. Slipping his pistol’s and swords onto the ground he tilted his head from side to side popping the muscles and knot’s, as he rose he allowed himself to lick his lips his form lightly wrapped in his normal armour and he chuckled as he looked about.

He knew he had experience in the jungle but these were seasoned and veteran killer’s and the worst amongst them was Elias, he had remembered the man’s anger and knew that this was a man born of true warrior heritage. Lightly picking up a hand full of dirt he rubbed it over his face so that the light would not show on his skin, he knew he would be useless in a full run for the sweat would wash it away in a moment’s notice if exertion was needed.

She listened carefully. She wasn't the most respectful person, but she was prudent. Sort of. She liked this idea. She always enjoyed being quiet and nimble on her feet. She finished her Juma Juice, and then spoke.

-"So, basically we're trying to steal some flag with a junkie pistol, just praying not to get shot by crazy-ass stalkers? Cool."-She almost sarcastically asked.

She looked to the other Mandalorians around her, and wondered who she would get teamed up with. Either way, she was going to give it her all, mostly in wishes of not being shot with a stun pistol by Elias.

Graves eyes flashed when he saw the pistol and stun baton. He was an expert with the pistols and swords and had been looking for a way to test out the mandolorian fire dance. Optimally he wouldn't be noticed but if it came down to it he was going to implement it.

He was itching to get his hands on them and get started. Instead, he rolled another cigarette and twirled it up into his lips. Looking around he eyed the competition, all formidable but he thought Elias would be the biggest threat. Roaming at random he could be anywhere out there. He examined his armor trying to pick out any oddities that could give him away, there was little there.

He sat back waiting for more instruction.

Wakiza was no stranger to principles of stealth that Elias spoke of. For he had learned them from his orgininal people, the Noghri. Yet the assasin reminded himself he needed to keep at practice otherwise he become like a dull blade that breaks from pressure. So he will accept the training that is being taught tonight. When Elias had given Wakiza a pole wrapped in a black clothe he was confused for a moment until witnessing the other man beside him unfold his and revealed a flag. Wakiza did the same with his pole and similar plain banner was displayed before him.

Then Elias further explained about they are going to do, Wakiza nodded in agreement. All of it now made sense and he looked forward to coming event with much excitement as he heard Saviin commented about the situation.

"Whose squad am I part of?" Wakiza asked Elias, finally speaking for the first time since session began.

Looking around the group he frowned noticing the Noghri and he knew that the Noghri were master’s of stealth, their skin was also perfectly adapted for blending in with the surrounding’s and he found himself frowning in thought. The man graves he noticed was smoking and a small grin lifted the corner of his mouth and he filed it away in his memory, he knew stealth was not also about looks but sound and smell and he studied the rest of the group. As he awaited to see his team member he found himself eying the blade of his with forlorn wishing he could take it into battle, even as a test, the fact that the baton was weightier and shorter then his blade would indeed make a difference and he sighed.

As he studied Elias he nodded softly and simply lifted a finger and his voice formed in an almost soft tone “ when hit, is it game over or simply a count out? “, he found himself looking away from the fire now letting his eyes adjust to the dimness knowing that to look at it now would ruin his night sight for quite a while. As he leant and picked up the helmet he suddenly had a flash of inspiration and held it under one arm, looking to the group he suddenly realized that he would need more then his training to try and out-do them.

Elias held back on answering Wakiza's question as Kyouteki reached his ears.

"When you're hit, you're down for good. Either take a hike back to base, or stick around here to wait for the rest of us." Lifting the pack of weapons, he tossed it closer to the others. "Gear up. Wakiza, Graves, Thanos, and you." Elias pointed at the last man. He didn't recognize him, but he would know him before the night ended. "There is a clearing, about a kilometer to our northeast. Head there with a flag."

"The rest of you, opposite direction. Half a kilometer. Gear up, take a flag, get yourselves moving."

Back to addressing the whole group: "You'll receive a com when we start."

-"So, Im with this Kyouteki guy? Horrible name, by the way."-Saviin said

She grabbed one of the stun pistols and a baton, and dropping her can of Juma Juice, she walked and grabbed the other flag, and started heading to where Elias pointed out.

-"Just a hike"-She said as she walked, unsure if the others were following close behind or not.

Graves took his weapons, taking the blaster in his off hand and the baton in his main. The baton would be a poor subsitute for his Ca’oya blade but it would do for practice. Graves played the with weight of the weapons getting used to them as he gave a nod to his teammates and headed off toward the northeast.

This was going to be interesting.

After Elias answered the questions, Wakiza swiftly pack up the stun weapons chosen for him and carried the black flag, following Graves' lead to the northeast as instructed with Thanos and an unknown warrior close behind him. As they move out Wakiza had this thought in his mind, a lesson that his dead uncle, Askar repeatedly taught to him as a child years ago. Prepare to hunt or be hunted.

Grinning as he took the weapon's after placing the helmet back on his head he grinned and waved light-heartedly to the other team, " good hunting " he simply replied and turned as he holstered his weapons where they would fit and slowly walked into the wood's following Saviin and he grinned at the dig of his name but did not reply. It was only out of sight of the other team that he began to rapidly strip off his armour and helmet from the waist up, the small wave and cheer had been designed to allow them to see him in his armour and he grinned impishly at Saviin " it may be an unusual name, but my mother said it mean's to be cunning " and his eyes began to immedietly look for a spot to set up the ambush.

Elias waited until he was all alone, then left departing into the woods as well. He walked slowly and calmly, not trying to blend in at the moment as he gazed around him. It was soon to be time. Soon the game would start, and they would all see how much they actually knew. Elias would go over key points in stealth after the game, and also note their mistakes that he witnessed. The whole situation was going to be filled with adrenaline, and he wanted to see them all succeed, but of course - only one team would.

Elias stopped and sat down on a stump, waiting. His thoughts drifted into the details he had noted about the environment they were in. Trees cast shadows across the ground, but the moon lit up where they did not. Bushes were not uncommon at all, and would be easy to pass through. The trees were close together, and would be easy to climb and move from one to another as well. That would be made impossible while carrying a flag, but it would still work at least one way.

The Protector checked the time, and then opened a channel to both groups.

"Begin."

Saviin heard her teammate explain the meaning of his name. She then reflected on the unusualness of her OWN name, and said:

-"Sorry, I didn't mean anything by it. I'm too reckless, I tend to judge without reason"-She apologized.

They walked along with the other Mandos, ones she did not know. Suddenly, a thought came to her mind:

-"Hey! Now I recognize you! You're the guy that made advances on Seda, only to get a knife to your throat on that reunion! I remember you! Ha! Quite the lesson you learned that day."-Saviin said. This was followed by a loud laughter.

After she finished laughing, they found themselves in the correct place. She set down the flag, and had an idea. She had brought a blanket, since they really didn't know what was gonna happen, and dhe had found a use for it. The blanket was already brown, so all she had to do was gather some leaves and paste them to it. She then wrapped it around her back. She now had a camouflaged cape. Suddenly, Elias' unmistakeable voice spoke through the comm.

"Begin."

Graves looked around, not a lot of places to hide a flag. There were bushes and trees but they would be far too obvious. "Well Wakiza what do you think? He asked, "I say we make it easy for them one of us four should strip off our armor and use the flag pole to support it. A scarecrow of sorts. One of us can wait in hiding and use the armor and flag as bait if they fall for it. Though I doubt anyone will think the flag is hidden in the armor."

Wakiza pondered about Gaves' strategy and then said;

"This is risky move you propose, Graves but clever one nonetheless."

Taking off his helmet, Wakiza revealed his Noghri features and looked at Graves in all seriousness.

"I'll take the risk, you can use my armor as the bait. Though I do recommend that we don't make the bait too obvious to our opponents. We don't want them to figure out the trap."

With done speaking, Wakiza began the process of removing his crimson armor and placed the flag and the weapons ground beside him. When done, the Noghri had only his pants, gauntlets, dark short-sleeve tunic, and boots on to wear. He then stack up the armor and helmet into the flagpole and spoke once more. "You decide where to put it I will find a hidden position to lay and wait." Then, with a respecful nod to Graves, Wakiza grab his weapons and search for spot to hide until the trap begins.

Thanos and Jer'a watched Graves and Wakiza work for several moments, then turned their eyes in the direction of the enemy flag. Elias was out there somewhere, watching and on the prowl. The opposing team was farther then that, or so the two of them hoped. Strategies raced through Thanos' mind as he glanced skyward. "I will take to the trees vode. I'm a good climber. If Jer'a walks underneath me, I can watch over him as we move forward."

___________________

Rethis and Hurth walked after the other two they had been teamed with. They were ready to set up a defensive perimeter around the flag, wherever the others decided to place it. For now? They would remain silent.

___________________

Elias climbed through the dense branches, moving speedily from one tree top to the next, eyes watching below. He would not go to close to the flags, but if anyone straggled out below him he planned to catch them unawares. Completely silent, and in his black armor almost invisible to the naked eye, he leapt suddenly from his perch. Form perfect, body angled skillfully, his outstretched fingers caught onto one of the long dangling vines, and using his momentum he swung. With a rush of air and a feel of weightlessness he launched himself from the end of the vine as it reached it's peak, landing higher up in the trees then he had been previously.

He was but a shadow in the night.
