DESCRIPTION

Basic Description:

Built in ancient times, as a last ditch attempt to push back the Republic's marauding privateers and corvette fleets, the Ragnos Class type of Battle-cruiser used by the ancient Sith was made to be as affordable as possible and as heavily armored a ship of its size can be. It was designed to be a tank type ship with poor armament yet extremely robust armor. Its armament was really only capable of taking on ships smaller than itself anything larger and its main batteries and secondaries wont be able to scratch the paint on them. Many battle cruisers were almost always painted in elaborate markings to show their allegiance to the Sith Empire of Old, however with time many of the more elaborate paintwork were lost to time, however the emblem of the Ancient Sith can still be found, albeit faded on old Battle-cruisers in service with the various factions around the galaxy today.

A Heavily armored unshielded Star Destroyer with High Hull Strength and Extremely robust armor protection. Only protected with travel shields in case of Asteroid Impact. Small Weak-point open just beyond the middle of the ship in a Mustache Shape. Which exposes pure hull and has no armor protection. The outdated Sensor Array allows for 2,000 Light-years distance range with a boost from a comm buey.

Bridge Details:

The Primary bridge jutts out of a large superstructure from around the far rear of the ship's hull. It extends some 300 meters upward and allows for a commanding view of the battlefield. Beginning from the bridge door, moving forward. There is a Transparasteel window located directly in-front of the main door inside of the Bridge after a short walkway, which can be shut with armored shutters in case of attack. On either side of this main walkway are two rows of control console, with one master console located directly in-front of these which control each side of the ship's Main Batteries of Turbo-lasers. The smaller seats each individually control a single Point Defense Laser cannon and can be set to automated if the need arises. Near the rear entrance of the bridge, located off to each side are a set of two escape pods located on both sides if the need arises. Extending directly back from the rear door is a corridor which splits off into two alcoves where an elevator to the lower decks, Bridge Staff and Bridge Security respectively; can be found. Straight back from the bridge is the Captain's Quarters.

Captain's Quarters:
Entering from bridge facing straight back is where the Captain's Quarters is located. Open entering it expands into a large circular room with a living area on the current floor, and a spiral staircase leading to the sleeping quarters. It lacks windows however it is furnished with the proper assortment of High-Class Ancient Sith luxuries like a King Sized bed located in the sleeping quarters, and a master refresher located in the left corners of both the top and bottom floors respectively. Located in the middle of the circular room on the living area, is a optional meditation pod for Force Sensitives with a quick fold release which can allow it to fold beneath the floor if the space needs to be used for something else.

Bridge Crew Quarters:
Heading down the Hyper lift to the floor just beneath the Bridge. Is where the High Ranking Deck Officer's live. Each Officer living in his own mini-apartment with a inbuilt enclosed refresher, desk, chair, dresser, and mattress holder. The Highest ranking officer's gain the rooms with access to space through a small window located on the outer hull of the Bridge's superstructure. This is not connected to the Bridge Security Quarters and is partitioned off with a Bulkhead.

Bridge Security Quarters:
Located on the other side of the fore mentioned Bridge Crew Quarters, the Security Officers live in a barracks type situation with four beds located in one room. Expanding out into company sized. (Forty Men) spread across multiple different blocs. There are two large communal refreshers for male and female Security Officers respectively. This connects directly to the bridge and has no access to the Bridge Crew Quarters

Quick Tram System:
Located at the bottom of the bridge super-structure and extending across multiple levels. It allows access for crew to enter walkways, and canteens located throughout the ship, with a quick access route for the hangar bay and pilot barracks if needed.

LEGALITY
Illegal in Sith Space (Without special privileges I.E being a apart of the Faction):
Legal with License in Alliance Space
Legal in Hutt and Independent Space

INTENT
An extremely tanky armor ship, with modest firepower and anti-smuggler capabilities. Focuses on a quick charge hyper-drive and extreme speed to out speed slower ships and catch up to speedier smaller ships. A mid tier ship designed to operate as small faction headquarters and mercenary bases on planets.

ADVANCED TECH
Yes. There are only FOUR undamaged battle cruisers located across the galaxy, with many derelict and ruined ships just drifting in space awaiting salvage, However during plots, it will incorporate some wrenches in the gears. If you repair one component, for example a Hyper-drive but not the engine. Then you can't go into hyperspace without repairing the engines. But if you repair the Engine first, then you can fly the ship around, but it can't go into hyper space. If you fix the turbo-laser batteries but not the Targeting Systems, then good luck hitting anything. It can work both ways, repair the targeting systems but not the turbo-lasers then prepare for misfires and cook offs.

ok not one of the mods but I figure I ask this because it's sticking out to me but let's say I find one that is direlict, undamaged how many threads would the plot require to get such a ship operational? Would it be something anyone could do or need the faction backing to do so? Would it be a multi plot thing? if so how many plots?

Few other things but the staff uses MGLT as a unit of reference for speed so please use that so it can be easy to compare it's sublight speed to other ships. The class 2.0 hyperdrive might be a source of contention, as that would literally outclass almost most ships out of the box and this is literally a several hundred year old design. plus this thing can carry an entire corvette with it? That outclasses the andraste which is pretty much what I would use as the reference for a giant f you star destroyer and other than firepower and the lack of shielding this handly outclasses a number of aspects of that. And this ship was something built and mass produced in massive numbers(I get that maybe one or two exist that are restorable but this is just a lore thing)? What's stopping me from getting my hands on this through a plot doing several plots to get my hands on some military grade deflector screens, better weaponry, expanding the hangars even more. I would have 100,000 tons of storage capacity to turn this thing in a weapon of mass destruction. It'd be like bringing the yamato to take on the Spanish Armada.

I'm not trying to discourage you from coming up with cool stuff, do come up with neat ideas and get feedback. I personally love the idea of taking some ancient derelict weapon of war and breathing new life into it. I'm just thinking this looks like it might need a rework. Granted take my opinions with a grain of salt. The mods who do this regularly will probably have better feedback

Yeah, You are right that it needs a rework. Its really rough, and I'll make a few attempts on smoothing out the godawful ugly parts. It was supposed to be based off the Centurion Class Battlecruiser for KOTOR I and II, but the lack of solid information makes improvisation difficult. I appreciate the feedback and I'll see what can be done. Thank U.

Hey don't be too rough on yourself, you're new to the site and all. Take a look at the ships that have been approved and go from there. Maybe looked at the archived stuff as well to see what gets shot down by the mods and see how you can make something different but not overpowered.

Just learn and move on to make awesome stuff

So... there are a number of problems with this design.

The most glaring is the lore surrounding it. Almost none of the back-story you've come up with lines up with the site's canon; the "Ancient Sith" were never on the run from the Republic, unless you count their Jedi Exile predecessors; the Sith Empire was the dominant power in the Galaxy up until very recently. I seriously doubt that the Sith as we know them would have had a reason to build something like this.

There are other things. The numbers just don't add up in terms of crew and ship compliment. This thing is smaller, yet requires more crew and can carry more starfighters than any current design, or indeed than anything in the pipeline. A "last ditch" design from centuries ago just isn't going to do that. At this point, I don't see any way a ship like this could fit into things without giving an unfair advantage.

And finally, the formatting. You really need to make this profile match the formatting of the template provided.

I understand that you're new, and I don't want to discourage you from making tech in the future, but I would seriously have a look at some of the stuff that already exists. Get a feel for what flies and what doesn't, and maybe try a few less ambitious submissions first.

I'm going to archive this. Maybe you can resubmit it at some future date, once you get a better feel for how we do things around here.
