DESCRIPTION​

QUEENIE K’S CABARET (formerly The Cabaret Coronét) is a (literal and figurative) underground nightspot in downtown Coronet City, Corellia, that is steadily growing in popularity. Owned by the charismatic but intimidating “Queenie K”, this entertainment venue boasts of a crowd capacity of 250 with comfortable seating (including a number of curtained private seatings in discrete locations) and a wide variety of alcoholic beverages with a very knowledgeable bartending staff. The entertainment ranges from dancers of all sorts (including burlesque) and musical acts of all kinds, but all must prove themselves truly talented in the eyes of “Queenie K” before gracing her stage. (The only exception to this rule is for those who participate in amateur night.) Queenie K’s mostly hires up-and-coming acts, as big name performers typically snub such a hidden venue.

Despite its fancy interior, Queenie K’s tends to attract a lively crowd that’s associated with underground sporting activities and gambling (mostly because of the reputation of the previous club). Gambling is permitted in the club, as long as no fights happen as a result and no fault falls back on the club and it’s owner. (Otherwise… bye-bye.) Sometimes the racers and fighters themselves grace the club with their presence and they are welcome as VIPs as long as they don’t trash the place. In any case, Queenie K’s has become the place to network in the underground sporting world of Corellia.

The word on the street is that several mafia organizations have attempted to negotiate deals with Queenie K concerning ownership of her establishment but the only deal that she would accept is that they may do some business in the club, as long as they respect her and the club’s independence.

Perhaps one of the reasons that local authorities have not attempted to raid Queenie K’s is the possibility that she may have a “deal” with the right people. The truth remains with the queen herself.

HISTORY​

Queenie K’s Cabaret was originally called The Cabaret Coronét when it was established forty years ago. It’s owner, Pavador Luce (deceased), had made his fortune from black market weapons sales/trade and gambling (he was an infamous card shark). He had always had a passion for the entertainment industry and decided that he wanted to create a venue where those like him who did not want to be an open target in public could relax without fear of persecution from Imperial or City authorities. Not that they never experienced raids… but since Luce knew the right people and paid the right credits, hardly anything of note came of these raids. That is, until the day of the Cabaret Coronét Massacre.

A year and a half before the Mandalorians had taken Corellia, Imperial Director Duraunt Amoza (recently deceased) directed his troops to not only raid the club, but destroy everybody within. He had cited suspicious activities and ties to the Galactic Alliance as a justification but it was known that his lover and mother of his child… who was a dancer under Luce’s employ… had been having a long-standing affair with the owner. Despite the order to wipe them all out, there were a few survivors due to faking death and hiding. One of those survivors was Kamisha Rho, future owner of Queenie K’s.

The club interior was remodeled in the months after Rho gained ownership. The club reopened as Queenie K’s two months after the Mandalorian invasion, as the new rulership made the club’s reopening remarkably easier.

INTENT​

To provide an atmospheric setting for social, professional, and political rendezvous’ as well as shady underground deals. Despite the “no violence policy”, the potential for violence is still present. I will storytell for scenes in the cabaret if asked.
