An unauthorized vessel has touched down on the surface, by the looks of it, Ithor patrols believe it is carrying weapons used to hunt the creatures in the jungle. However as you and your team investigate, not only are they supplying weapons, but they are also transporting game animals off-world for use in gladiator arenas in the lawless Outer Rim. Interrupt the operation, release the animals and apprehend the criminals. However, be careful if you encounter a Molsume which has toxic flesh to the touch and poisonous fangs. They are also known to run at high speeds with its multiple limbs.

Participants: @Arda Breaux @Vesper T'Rahm @Luu Karr Rhulain

The sky was overcast from what they could see through the trees as they neared the landing site of the vessel that was reported earlier. There had been a gentle breeze when they had started, but now a stillness rested in the air as the animals that lived in this jungle prepared for the tropical rains. A flock of birds could be heard overhead, but otherwise, every movement they made would sound like it was coming through a megaphone. At least that felt like for Arda as neared the camp with the other Jedi who joined her; one she was familiar with, Vesper, and then one she didn't know so well, Luu, but trusted them both nonetheless.

As they neared closer, voices could be heard; there was a clearly just large enough for a freighter to land and growls of creatures in the vicinity of the ship roared.

Clearly, they were in the right place.

Luu loped easily through the forests of Ithor, his mind focused on the task ahead but his senses stretching out as if trying to absorb everything around him. Ithor was alive in ways that other worlds were not, the unblemished forests teeming with beasts and plants that made the wastes of Iridonia seem tame in comparison. The Zabrak could understand the religious reverence the Ithorians paid to their homeworld and was grateful for the chance to walk its surface; the Mother Jungle was every bit the verdant paradise they claimed it to be.

Running his hand over the pistol at his thigh and pulling on the sword-belt crossing his chest to better hold his weapon his place, Luu tentatively reached out with the Force and gave the mental equivalent of a tap toward his two companions; he may not approve of most applications of telepathy, but as the advance scout for their party it was better to not rely on comms that the poachers may overhear.

'See clearing. Many enemies. Many cages. How proceed?'

He was not talented enough to convey much beyond impressions and feelings, and to be honest he preferred it that way. The minds of human and alien alike were jumbled and messy, they lacked the instinctual knowledge of what to do and when to do it. The howling from the cages grew louder, and Luu tamped down on his agitation; soon these poachers would be handled, and the animals could be brought back to their homes. He reached out toward the nearest cage with his mind and projected feelings of trustworthiness and calm.

'Help coming.'

It was kind of weird. Vesper had been seeing a lot of Arda lately, very randomly. Though she supposed they were always doing something helpful when they were together, so maybe it was a good thing Vesper was seeing more of her. Luu she didn't know that well, but she remembered him from the gathering not too long ago. He had made a bet, Vesper wondered if he remembered well enough who won or if she could weasel some credits out of the Zabrak.

Seemingly lost in her own transient thoughts, the sudden tapping on the surface of her mind startled her slightly. It seemed Luu had gotten a good visual on the bastard poachers they were here to dispatch. Vesper could think of very few things more detestable than people who would hurt or capture animals simply to harvest trinkets from them or skin them for tacky fur coats - or whatever the hell it was that poachers did with the poor creatures.

If we can open the cages, something tells me we'd have quite a few allies. She said to both Luu and Arda, using Luu's same idea of secrecy through telepathy. Two of us could cause a distraction on one side of the complex while the other sneaks in the back and starts opening cages.

It was the best idea she had, anyhow. If someone had anything better Vesper would be more than happy to follow their lead.

Arda felt Luu's suggestions touch her mind, her eyes scanned the area, pinpointing where the guards stood and others, who must have been poachers relaxing after their latest catch, rested underneath the shade of tents. The Jedi shook her head and grasp the hilt of her borrowed saber from her belt while Vesper's voice echoed in her head, suggesting a distraction while one of them opened cages. It was a simple plan, but one that could work in their favor rather easily, her greater concern was freeing the animals so they could rejoin their home in Ithor's jungles.

Arda nodded, glancing at Vesper and then to Luu, Vesper and I will ruin their day, Luu, can make the creatures day. The padawan flashed a grin, the Force shifted as Arda opened herself to it and confidently she walked out from their hiding spot in the jungle and into the camp. She could feel the moment of confusion as the guards turned their attention to her, their blaster raised, trying to determine where this blue-haired girl had come from, but seeing their blasters raised, Arda raised her hands, "Sorry, I must have taken a wrong turn, somewhere-"

"Shut your mouth, kid, hands behind-"

The guard who was speaking didn't get time to finish as Arda had grasped the weapon with the Force and slammed it back into the nose of the guard. He yelled in shock and pain, but as the guard realized things were turning bad, Arda released a push strong enough to send him back into the tent where the poachers had been relaxing.

The padawan ignited her lightsaber and brought everyone to their feet.

Sneaking through the underbrush of the forest to approach the poacher camp from the rear, Luu narrowed his eyes in unison with the shocked poachers at Arda's brazen entrance. Shaking his head to force his attention back on his task, the Zabrak padawan studiously ignored the gasps of surprise and pain ringing out over the snap-hiss of the Knight's lightsaber as he fished a multi-tool from his utility belt.

'Need to get me one of those, it'd make this part *way* easier...'

Pressing his palm against the bars of one of the heavy durasteel barred cages, Luu poured feelings of friendship and warmth and truth into the mind of the lumbering herbivore cramped within, the speederbus sized beast huffing several times in agitation before butting it's horned head against the door. Reaching through and patting the thick hide, he chuckled and began to pry apart the locking mechanism, a savage grin on his lips as he disarmed the latch and carefully opened the first gate.

"Don't move just yet, girl... I'm going to need your help here in a moment." The beast seemed to consider him with a very skeptical air surrounding it before it let loose a trumpeting sigh and stepped half out of the cage, shaking it's head and breathing in the free air. Moving on to the next cage and whistling lowly at the mud-strewn white fur of the muzzled feline crouched in the corner, Luu again reached out and touched the mind of the Nexu.

"Hello there, you beautiful kitty. How would you like to play with some poachers?" The Nexu met his gaze with intelligence and anger gleaming in its eyes. "Thought so... let's get you out of there."

The sound of blaster bolts and lightsabers rose in the clearing, but Luu bowed his horned head and got to work on the second cage. He trusted that the two women could handle themselves... and besides, it was his job to bring the cavalry.

Without missing a beat Vesper followed Arda's lead and entered the camp. It didn't take long for them to be met with suspicion, which was fine, suspicious people drew attention and that is exactly what they were attempting to do anyway. The swift conversation turned probable broken nose that occured between Arda and the guard was almost enough to cause Vesper laugh out loud, but she did her best to keep her composure.

Vesper was already drawing and igniting her lightsaber as Arda released the force wave knocking back the guard back into the tent. Two other guards came running from a different spot in the camp, both wielding vibroblades. The first guard charged towards Vesper, but he was simply met with a hard force push directly in his chest that sent him careening back into the complex walls.

Turning her attention to the other, Vesper flashed him a smile and gripped her lightsaber tightly. I'd run if I were you, she said simply, shrugging her shoulders. But I guess if you're looking for an ass kicking you're free to stay.

The guard, clearly confident in his own abilities, simply spat on the ground, pulled out a blaster pistol and started firing at Vesper.

Vesper joined, igniting her saber also and suddenly there was a new tension in the air from the poachers as they realized their operation was now under greater threat than once believed by two girls who seemed out of place in a vast untouched jungle. More came off the ship to join in, some pairing off in order to try to overwhelm the two Jedi while they kept the hunters busy as Luu did his part with the beasts.

Arda could feel the ripples of the Force wash against her like a stone and waves in an ocean, the imbalance circled around the most aggressive of poaches, crashing harshly with the metaphysical energy field that she was uncertain they could not feel. Her saber spun effortlessly, blocking some of the blaster bolts, either absorbing into the plasma of the blade or reflecting back at some of the others, making sure she kept them clear of Vesper's path. The man who had called her out earlier seemed to have a particular vendetta against the Jedi; unlike the others he was more cautious of his aim, taking more precise shots while others were more about scaring away the Jedi than anything else.

The blue-haired girl moved closer to the poacher, his firing becoming more aggressive and Arda was forced to pick up her game, her thoughts of caution fought to overcome her instinct as she continued to breathe, to feel the Force and let it show her the path that would unarm the man as quickly and efficiently as possible without causing additional harm to herself. When she was close, he took out his vibroblade, changing the stake of the game between him and the Jedi.

Liam moved around to the other side of the camp, letting the Jedi go do their own thing. The camp was large on contained a lot of cages of animals the poachers had captured.

He waited, tucked into some underbrush while he waited for the Jedi to begin their attack on the other side of the camp. It came minutes later, causing many of the guards to hush towards the sound of combat.

Liam stalked forward, staying low. There were two guards that had stayed behind to protect the cages. Liam could have easily taken them out with a blaster but he wanted to do this quiet, not drawing the poachers back to him. He came around a cage, behind the two men. He slowly slid the knife from his belt and moved forward.

He plunged the knife into the back of the first neck and grabbed the other around the neck, snapping it an instant later. Quickly searching their bodies he found a key to unlock the cages.

He started opening the cages as he went, climbing on top of the cages to open them and waiting for the beasts to be drawn off before continuing to the next.

The blaster shots were coming towards Vesper at a breakneck pace. Clearly this poacher didn't appreciate the Jedi presence in his camp and was attempting to kill Vesper as quickly as possible. Luckily, she was quick too, and brought her lightsaber up to deflect the bolts as they came.

Unfortunately, he seemed to have quite a bit of ammunition, and Vesper was beginning to become overwhelmed. But, as luck would have it, one of the released creatures came roaring to her aid. A huge nexu pounced on the poacher's back and sunk its claws in, followed by its fangs. Didn't take long for the beast to kill the man, Vesper staring in mild shock. She waved gingerly at the nexu - the creature clearly had blood-lust in its eyes - but it simply turned away from her and ran off.

Vesper figured it was going to escape the compound and flee to saftey, but it didn't take long for that idea to be obviously false. The nexu jumped onto another poacher and tore their throat out before setting its eyes on more prey.. or victims, as it were.

Gripping her lightsaber, Vesper moved to catch up with Arda. Clearly their ally was being successful in releasing the animals, so she figured their job might be close to finishing up. Hopefully the Knight was doing well for herself, but if not, Vesper would help Arda out as soon as she found her.

Her lightsaber clashed against the vibroblade, the poacher smiled as his odds slightly improved as he pressed against the smaller woman, but she still had the advantage, the Force shifted and her fingers of her free hand jutted forward, the energies of the Force followed. The push knocked harshly into the man's gut, sending him stumbling backwards, however, he wouldn't get a chance to counter as the howls of creatures that were once caged, now alerted everyone they had been freed. Her companions had done their part successfully. Fear washed over the poacher Arda was fighting as he backed up and there suddenly was panic in the area as the nexu decided it needed some revenge of its own.

She saw Vesper catch up with her as they stood side by side, "Right on time..." she said holding her saber defensively as the nexu came out from the forest again; though now this time there were yells from behind as a large Molsume came stampeding through the camp, tearing through tents and equipment. Some of the poachers and hunters tried to subdue it, firing aggressively at the creature as it raised back onto its back legs and came down on one of the hunters, impaling them with their fangs.

"So, I'll admit, I didn't have a plan of what to do after." Arda admitted as she kept a look out for the animals or even the hunters that tried to seek their revenge on the jedi who just messed up their operation. However, overheard, a loud siren seemed to draw the attention of everyone, even the animals, however, it was much of an annoyance that it caused them to seek a hiding place inside the forest, leaving the camp in a disarray. The Ithorian patrols had finally showed up with additional forces, a few scattering out into the forest to capture the hunters that have took off. However, upon seeing who also have arrived, most have thrown down their weapons, surrendering to their new life.

Arda let out a long sigh of relief seeing as they showed up, "Thank the Force it had a plan."
