Adun, City of the Dead, Korriban

Arak had been on Korriban for months now. It was originally supposed to be a week or two max, but due to delays and the new academy opening his stay has been constantly extended. He was in the courtyard, drenched in sweat, shirtless, laying on the ground. The grunts of the Massassi warriors doing their basic exercises filled the air. A few feet away his youngest sibling, Shaela, was staring at him with glee. Ever since he returned she'd been following him around like a shadow, particularly enjoying the fact he showed her some of the stuff he'd learned from the academy. As he laid there his mind wandered to Corellia, and an impromptu song. Suddenly a shout rang out from a balcony above drawing him back, and causing Arak to sit up with a groan of pain, "Arak'rishe! Shaela! The king will be here shortly! Arak'rishe go get ready! Shaela come to my room so I can help you!" His mother barked down to them. Shaela ran off without a word, while Arak slowly got up. "I miss hearing someone call me Ari." He huffed as he tried to dust off the dirt clinging to his sweaty skin.

He had just got out of the bath. To his mother's discontent he completely refused to have servants bathe or dress him, his time away gave him a since of freedom and independence he'd enjoyed. He was admiring himself in the mirror, with school being on a break he had little to do in his free time. His body had became more muscular though barely bulkier, his stamina had grown more too allowing him to actually run a decent distance before hyperventilating. It wasn't an overwhelming amount of progress but it was noticeable to him. He still studied tomes for hours, but eventually that got boring. He started doing the routine exercises with the Massassi one day when he aimlessly wandered into them while reading something. It helped keep his mind from wandering to Nash, plus getting stronger could only benefit him when they saw each other again. He messaged Nash regularly, sending her pictures of the city, palace, food and even videos of when the warriors sparred. Though he made sure to try and hide his physical changes, he wanted to surprise Nash with them.

Arak and his two brothers were with their father and a small procession at the Great Gate to greet the kings procession. His father and brothers were all three taller and bulkier than himself, very clearly showing their Massassi ancestry. The group watched as it arrived, Arak's father, Abados, cleared his throat, "My King it is an honor for you to grace my city and house with your visit." He bellowed out after bowing. The entire greeting party followed suit, bowing to their King. "We've prepared a feast and sport for you. If you wish we'll accompany you to the palace." He said motioning his hand to point out his sons. Arak just looked in awe at the Kings procession, he'd attended Arcanos' classes but that was different than eating with him and seeing him outside of the classroom. Maybe he could try and talk to him and learn more of the man.

The procession was long and filled with rows upon rows of landspeeders flanked by Massassi and grothhu. Azar made a point of visiting the great noble houses since his ascension to monarch, and today he would visit with Ragnos. While they had a citadel in Dreshdae, Adun held the main holdings of the royal family. Azar had only visited this place as a small child when he accompanied his father on an errand, and he possessed little memory of it.

His wives did not accompany him on this visit, though one of his male concubines, a tall Massassi joined him for the visit. Azar was dressed the part of a King, heavy earrings lining his ears, kohl accenting his eyes, and traditional wear adorning his athletic frame. He was a man of both beauty and masculine elegance, carrying himself with the bearing of a God. Indeed, whispers of Azar Kressh being Sith’ari began to roll through the planet, especially with the introduction of moisture farming. Even the desert tribes were lining up to swear fealty.

In addition to his jewelry, closer inspection would reveal a baby dragon perched atop his shoulder, its tail curled fondly around the King.

The procession came to a stop and Azar held his hand out for one of his attendants to lead him down. He eyed Abados Ragnos, “You may start by offering the basic courtesies expected of you,” He said dryly, his gaze flicking to the ground and then back up to the Ragnos. Azar Kressh was Sith’ari. His subjects were expected to kneel, not simply bow.

Once the man did as told, Azar’s icy demeanor softened, “I have brought gifts for your family,” He said, “Fruits and produce from Dreshdae and gems from Murzana,” He said as his yellow gaze panned over the entire family. He recognized Arak, but made no show of it. Azar may have been small in stature, but he always projected as a titan with everyone else in his great shadow, “Lead me to your palace, Emir Ragnos,” He said curtly, “It has been a long journey and I desire a bath.”

Arak was mesmerized by Arcanos, not for his beauty which was there, but for the way he carried himself. It was something Arak always admired, even envied to a degree, about Arcanos. No matter where he was or how he looked Arcanos always commanded the room with the way he carried himself.

Arak noticed the dragon perched on his shoulder and eyed it curiously. His mind began flipping through mental pages of information trying to recall what it was, though he couldn’t recall currently. The only thing he was confident was that this was still a baby, and would likely grow much larger.

Abados Ragnos flinched, almost as if his whole body vibrated, when Arcanos mentioned him not offering the expected courtesies, “Of course my King.” He said kneeling, between this and the man flinching all of the sons were looking attentively at the scene. They’ve never seen their father kneel or even flinch in front of anyone, even their mother didn’t elicit this bad of a flinch.

The mention of gifts raised the Emir’s spirits slightly, “You spoil me and my family your highness.” He said happily, “I will personally ensure you leave with the finest and rarest of spices Adun has to offer.” He stated determined, Adun was known for two things, the Great Gate and the spices exclusive only to the city. Abados stood back up as Arcanos ordered he lead him to the palace waving the majority of his procession to lead Arcanos’ to the palace separate from the King.

Emir Ragnos lead Arcanos through the bustling streets, only Arak and his brothers accompanied the Emir. There were goods from the various Korribani cities, Arcanos’ ascension had cause trade to flow between them. The three sons ensured a clear path showing the personality differences, the two eldest were on the right using brute force and telekinesis to move people out of the way, Arak meanwhile on the left had used a mind trick to get a couple large Massassi laborers to move people on his side.

It wasn’t long till they came to the palace courtyard, Araks mother, Ishtar, and sisters greeted them, they all wore exquisite dresses and had their hair up in various elaborate cultural styles. His mother knelt before Arcanos, “It is an honor for you to come to our humble city.” She said clearly knowing how to show respect to the King, the Sith’ari. She stood up and snapped a mixed group of male and female grothu coming out, “These will be your servants while here. You may use them how you wish.” She said with a tone of authority, her gaze turning to her sons, “Arak’rishe, take the King to his room.” She ordered, “My youngest son will help also be at your disposal, he will help you get around or anything else you need. If he gives you trouble inform me.” She said softly.

Arak was obviously not the happiest. Not just because he had to show Arcanos to his room, but because he was lowered to little more than a grothu. Sure he may not be a full servant, but being a glorified tour guide wasn’t much better. Arak lead Arcanos to his room, opening the door to show a spacious room fit for a King. It had a view that stretched into the valley of lords, and showed the entertainment section of the city. “I hope the room is to your standards, your highness.” Arak said in a faux happy tone.
