The Corporate Sector heist, the Jedha robbery, Utupua, Glee Anslem, the Crimson Dawn heist, Spice Terminus. All places that had been impacted by the young Acolyte, Connor Vance. Review of his grades showed average results, hard copies of his attendance records showed he actually never really showed up to his academy classes.

Which meant there had to be something else going on.

But that wasn’t why Tempest had summoned the Acolyte. No, instead it was the acknowledgment from professors of a sudden and rapid development in his understanding of the Dark Side. This in conjunction with a sporadic wellspring of Dark Side presence on Umbara. It wasn’t a rival Sith, nor was it an unearthed artifact. Instead, the beacon was something sensed only when accessing particularly potent Holocrons.

It was enough, to make the Dark Lord of the Sith believe this was no mere circumstance.

So she had summoned the Acolyte to Thule for interview and inspection. She’d uncover what was occurring within the walls of her academy, personally.

Connor was more than a little nervous. He wasn’t sure why he was being called to Thule and wasn’t sure why the Dark Lord was summoning him. However, he knew it was a set of summons that he couldn’t ignore.

His mind races through the literal laundry list of reasons Tempest could be summoning him. There was stealing Dalon’s ship. Selling Spice to underclassmen. Being indirectly involved in the accidental deaths of two Champions. The consistent property damage to The Drunk(en Mush)room. And probably a dozen or so other things he’d just forgotten about.

Regardless, to say Connor was nervous was an understatement. He was fucking terrified. An emotion that was reflected in his dipped ears, the open downturn of his lips, and his emerald eyes as they flicked back and forth. He wasn’t sure how fucked he was, but he knew it was more than a little.

When shuttle landed, Connor plucked a cigarra from his pocket and lit it with the Force. He was hoping it would steady his nerves. It didn’t work. The same two guards that had brought him to Thule the last time escorted him towards the throne room, or at least Connor thought they were the same two.

Maybe you guys could cue me in on how bad it actually is?” He asked, his nerves breaking through his normal wall of neutrality and indifference.

There would be no answer. They’d simply usher Connor into the throne room and shut the door behind him. Connor knew what he was supposed to do this time around. He dropped to his knees and focused his eyes on the floor before him. His voice had the smallest hint of a waver in it as he spoke.

Darth Tempest, what can I do to serve you, my Lord?” He asked, his ears drooping.

One thing was clear, Connor understood the gravity of the situation he was in.
