So I'm probably getting one next month (I'll just go with the new slim. Aside from backwards compatibility it's a fine system. I also have my PS2 still, so if the urge ever hits me...) and I want to know what games would be worth-while investments.

I've already set my heart on the Resistance series, and LittleBigPlanet, but aside from that I don't have any concrete purchases. I won't be getting God of War III (haven't played the last two and don't intend to) and I'm iffy on MSG4, although I'd be willing to try that out.

So, go.

Also, I'll be deleting any fanboy posts. I have a 360 and I enjoy it, but I'm also getting a PS3. Deal with it.

I don't own them, but my friends seemed to really enjoy Arkham Asylum and this new one called Demon Souls or something.

A friend of mine also has stated Demon's Souls is fun (odd for another generic JRPG). I completely forgot about Arkham Asylum. I think that would be another buy for me, since I'd get the Joker.

If you like Kingdom Hearts then the next one will prolly be on the PS3. I am planning on getting one when it comes out just for that game.....

If you're into fighters then I enjoy a good round of Blazblue now and then, although if you didn't like Guilty Gear you wouldn't like it either. Also, the Disgaea series is worth looking at.

MGS is action stealth but also has a amazing storyline. It will grip you and you'll want to know more and more. But if you care for story lines then get MGS1 2 3 first. It'll get confusing.

How is Drake's Fortune? I heard pretty good reviews for that game, and Among Thieves has had a lot of hype.

I was able to follow the MGS4 story with a quick background check on Wiki. I think the gameplay is top knotch. The levels are beautifully designed so it is feasible to stealth the entire map, but you can also comfortably shoot and participate in combat. The bosses and some of the tech seperate it from just being another shooter or stealth game. The story is pretty good if a bit too convoluted. My only real complaints was the cutscenes. They seem to drag on at times and none are ever shorter than ten minutes (the longest being the end that clocks in at at least an hour or so).

I find much of the MSG4 humor to build off of the previous games, too.

I hate long cutscenes. It's pretty, sure, but I want to play a game, not watch a movie.

i enjoyed Resistance 1. It was a fun little shooter with a good storyline.

And if you like racers, then get motorstorm. It's the best racer i've ever played.

I played the game through on my ps3.
It was a great finish to the series.
And all of the Boss fights were done well including the fact after everytime you beat them you were given their history.

I got Guitar Hero 5 for my PS3 yesterday, its ****ing brilliant man, I'd suggest looking into getting it. The game-play is the best its been in a long time, if not ever, and the set-list easily comes in as the second best. Also, the lag the other guitar hero games had on PS3 is now gone so far as I can tell; then again I don't have a HD TV.

But yeah, look into it Nexus, you like the guitar hero franchise don't you? I think you mentioned it somewhere.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, you can download the GHWT set list for free, which I'm doing right now.

And as Kurt mentioned; Killzone 2. The graphics are mind blowing and the game-play is equally as good.

Bolded I'm definitely getting, although I think I'll rent Batman. What's Flower?

EDIT: Nevermind, that's where you control a gust of wind through fields of flowers or something, right?

As for Killzone, I don't know if I'd get it or not. I never played the first one, and generally don't like picking up sequels when I haven't played the other games.

I have World Tour for the 360, so if I ever do pick up GH5, it'd be for the 360, considering I've got all the instruments for it.
