Let's just say my proclivities in the arena of physical affection is non existent. I'm akin to a dead stick in this arena, YET folks always feel the need to casually hug me, touch me, etc etc. Today, one of my staff left this

How about you my fellow SWRPians? Are you the affectionate kind? Or like me, would you rather not be touched unless you absolutely deem the situation worthy? AKA emergency

It's a tricky thing, because every time you encounter a stranger, the thought that you literally know nothing about them should immediately occur to you.

So then, your job as a member of a social encounter is to casually feel out the boundaries, find their sense of humour, their interests, adapt to their demeanour, their mannerisms and the cadence of their voice. And eventually, once you've established the kind of person they are, it should be pretty obvious as to whether or not you should hug them, shake their hand or even ****ing smooch them.


Personally, if I like you, you're getting hugged or at the very least, patted on the back.

I guess the difference with me is that not only do I not like hugs or any kind of physical contact, but it doesn't take me long to make other people hate me so much that the last thing they'd ever want to do is hug me. I quite like it actually.

My family is not very physically affectionate. We don't touch a lot. Like, my mom randomly giving me a hug would feel weird and make me wonder who died. I think that's shaped how I feel about touching in general. I don't mind hugs hello or goodbye from friends, or comforting hugs, but I don't like people...touching me. Head on the shoulder, hand holding, arm looping, lap sitting, it feels really intimate to me. The only people who are allowed to do those sort of things are my lil' sister, the girls that I've been mentoring for two years, and the kids at work. Even then, its usually me putting up with it for their sake.

But nobody touches my feet. Nobody. I kill knock your teeth out if you try.

I'm extremely affectionate, especially physically. I was snuggling with a girl only hours after I met her, and the next day I drove her to Oregon. Long story...

If you've seen the movie Due Date, oh my gosh, I swear that movie was based off of that trip! Greatest adventure ever.

I freaking hate the kind of people that would leave a note like that though, makes me want to punch them in the face and throw them out of a window.

And the feet thing? I 100% concur.

On a more serious note, I like hugs, but only with people I know for quite a while and family members. When it comes to people I don`t know much or at all, handshakes only.

LMAO, that's all I could think of when I saw the title... The only people who receive my affection are my wife and son. I think if someone anonymously left a letter like that at my desk I'd feel more creeped out about that than how I felt about physical touch...
