Rhi sat, hovering a few inches above a circular pad, trying to probe the force and learn a way to make Morichro come easier for her. She was hoping to be able to use it for her trials, but she couldn't get it down. The slowing of motion was easy, but finding the right places to slow took her far too long.

Her brow furrowed. More and more she had been trying to understand this technique. But the more she tried, the more it seemed to elude her.

The doors hissed softly as Amaterasu entered. She saw Rhi hovering in the center of the room, and gave a bow but no word. The knight knew the importance of concentration, which Amaterasu saw in Rhi's face.

The knight sat down in front of the hovering padawan, closing her eyes and beginning a meditative trance until Rhi finished what she was doing.

A few minutes later, Rhi opened her eyes. Exasperated, again, at her failure.

"Oh... hello, when did you come in?" she said to the new-come woman.

"Not too long ago. I am Amaterasu Selena," answered the Jedi Knight. "Is there something that I can help you with?"

Rhianne frowned and scratched her head. "Yeah... Yeah there is. I can't seem to figure out how to rapidly target a specific point on someone's body. I've read of a technique where you can slow somebody's body down, and I understand how to do it, but I can never seem to find the places to target. I know, physically, where the heart, lungs, and metabolic functions are located, but I can't find them in the force." She sighed disheartedly, "I don't suppose you could teach me how to do that..." A soft hopeful gleam filled her eyes as she trailed off.

"Does the lung operate like the stomach? Does the heart beat like the way a muscle moves? Think about it," she answered. "Don't think too hard about it, Rhi."

"That's just it, they work differently, but they have a similar pattern. Trying to find a single isolated object is one thing, but trying to find specific organs with similar properties of movement is a complete different game. And since each has to be treated differently...." She sighed again. "I'm sorry, I must really be depressing. I was just hoping to be able to use this technique before the trials a few days from now. Not having more than a general idea of how to pull this off is frustrating."

"Do not allow yourself to look at two different organs with a narrow mind. Ask the Force, and listen for the answer," replied Amaterasu, her expression unchanging. "It is not a requirement for you to learn how to perform a skill that is so advanced in nature in order to become a Knight."

"It was a goal I had set for myself. To fall short is very disappointing." she said looking down. "But I will try once more." Rhi's slight form, which had gently settled to the pad below her during the discourse, smoothly rose once more as she started concentrating.

Slowly, she built a composite picture of herself with the force. From this, she slowly worked inward, trying to locate the various organs she would need to target. As she worked, a new way of looking at the problem came to her. Instead of targeting each one separately and tuning the effect for a total result, why not target them all? What if the key wasn't perfect precision, but to affect the whole area?

Instead of targeting only the organs in question, she targeted the entirety of her chest cavity and brain (the brain controls the metabolic rate). As she completed the technique, she opened her eyes and looked around. Everything that was moving seemed to move incredibly fast. The watch on her wrist dialed seven seconds before she could count to one. Uh oh. Time to reverse this. Rhi thought to herself. She began working thru the technique again, this time with the intent to speed up, rather than slow down. It worked, but maybe too well... There was no way to make a perfect return to normal, because no mark could be made to depict it, so a good guess had to be made. Never good at approximations, Rhi overshot. When she opened her eyes, things seemed a little fast. She looked at he watch. Hmm... little slower now....

She overshot, again, but the bracketing gave her a good concept of where to find the norm. Her fourth try she got it almost perfect. It was a little fast still, but it wouldn't cause any problems. She slowly lowered herself to the pad beneath her, suddenly feeling drained. "It works" she whispered.

"Don't over exert yourself, Rhi," answered Amaterasu, with her usual calm demeanor replaced with a look of concern.

The whole scene took somewhere around the minute mark, but seemed weird to her, as though time was distorted on her own part.

"Rest, but do not use Morichro to do so," advised the knight. An abuse of such great power, from her own beliefs, often led towards terrible consequences. It seemed as though Rhi was really capable of utilizing this advanced technique, but all the while, Amaterasu held some skepticism that Morichro would not invade the padawan's studies in other important fields.

((OOC: btw, nice char name. I like the subtle inflection it gives ^.^))

Nodding, Rhi smiled. "Thanks for pointing me in the right direction."

Standing up a little unsteadily, she looked at Amaterasu with a tired joy. "But now, I'm afraid I need to rest before I collapse." With a grateful bowing of her head, she left the room, and started walking shakily down the hall.

((Japanese is a beautiful language in that sense. Thanks.))

The knight stepped out the door and watched as Rhi proceeded down the hall. Something about Rhi reminds Amaterasu of herself. What was the word... Dedication.

"Rest well, and may the Force be with you at the trials," she murmured to herself.
