The assignment seemed simple enough. Mig and his new friends were supposed to go intercept a shipment of laser cannon parts. A large freighter, a Gorath-class, would be transporting the goods from an independent manufacturing company on Sullust up to an Imperial factory on the South end of Imperial Republica space. It was relatively unprotected as these types of hits had not become common despite the wars. The outer rim had pirates but nothing too heavy so protection did not need to be insane. This would work to the Galactic Alliance's advantage. Mig and the team would be just enough to get the job done, he figured.

"Ok friends!" He chimed happily as the bomber approached Sullust space. "Reports say 2 Sith fighters are escorting the shipment. We shoot those down, disable the freighter, board it, and take over!"

Mig was excited. The Gotal had started to see more and more bold actions now that the Alliance was growing. This grab would be worth some nice parts and show command that they were ready to hit bigger targets too. Antar's Fist had two turrets that the others could man while Mig flew. His crew would do the co-pilot jobs and be on hand to help command the freighter. They'd want to steal it for easy transport of the goods.

"Enemies coming in range! Man the turrets!"
Mig shouted excitedly as the bomber approached their target.

Maverick sat in a seat in the back end of Mig's ship. He would have preferred to be in the pilot's chair, but this wasn't his ship, and he wasn't about to mess with the universal pilot's unwritten "code of conduct" and sit in someone else's seat. Especially on their own ship... That could get you kicked off the ship, while in hyperspace. Not a good thing.
So he was quite content to do whatever the Captain said and help out as he was needed. Which to Maverick the need came fairly quickly.
After hearing Mig shout over the com to get to the turrets. He sprinted to the right turret and strapped himself into the controller's seat. He had used these types of guns before, so he quickly familiarized himself with the controls while putting on the headset attached to the back of the chair.
Reaching up above him he clicked the few buttons that activated the target grid on the screen, as well as giving him full control of the guns.
Maverick grinned as he glanced out the view port in front of him, then reported in. "Locked and loaded. Ready when you are."

Tycho was seated across the aisle from Parker. The man actually somehow managed to fall asleep during the hyperspace part of the flight. He had no idea if he was asleep during the entire section of the flight or part of it. The confusion is because he never fell asleep during that part of the flight. Perhaps it is due to the fact he got very little sleep the night before.

Now wide awake, Tycho glanced out the view port just as Mig shouted through the coms for the two men to man the turrets. Well thijgs are certainly starting to get exciting. The criminal sprinted to the turret on the bottom side of the ship. Activating the target grid and the buttons that gave him control of the guns, "I am ready to rock." Tycho chimed in after Parker.

It became obvious to the interceptors that something was wrong very quickly. Mig's bomber pretty much screamed trouble as it approached at high speeds with military deflectors powered up. They instantly split off from their paths to stop the bomber from reaching the cargo ship. The Gotal was expecting a warning or some sort of warning shot to back off, but these Imperial pilots did not take any chances due to recent events. As far as they were concerned, the bomber crew were Mandalorians or Pirates. Best not to take chances there. Both fighters opened fire on the bomber as soon as they were in range.

"Oh my!" Mig shouted in surprise as he had been expecting a hail or warning shot. "Open fire!"

Only due to the surprise were the fighters able to score a hit. Mig quickly maneuvered out of the way of the next shots to help save the shields. The ship shook slightly as the shields absorbed the first hit easily. These upgraded shields could take a beating but no use standing still to test them. The Gotal kept them out of the next volley while hoping the guys in the turrets could score a hit. These snub fighters had no shields and a good hit would be game over for them.

Maverick was feeling pretty good about himself and his ability to maneuver the turret gun. The fighters wouldn't stand a chance as long as he was manning the guns. So when the fighters came into range, he pushed the controls and easily guided the barrels of the guns into position to fire.
The targeting grid looked good, and the shot looked even better.

But when he squeezed the trigger to fire... nothing happened. No blaster bolts came out.. no exploding fighter... nothing. As the fighter flew out of range and looped to come back into attack mode... out of the corner of his left eye, he caught the flashing of a little red light. It was attached to a small toggle switch that was in the "off" position.
That little red light made Maverick swear. "Of all the stupid little things to forget!"
Reaching over to the toggle switch, Parker Tam... one of the best pilot's in the galaxy... turned off the "safety" to the turret guns.

"Um." he said a bit sheepishly, "Now I'm ready."

Tycho turned the turret in different directions to get an idea on how the controls work. This is the first time the man had manned a turret. So the controls are a bit new to him. Then things started to take a turn for the worst. First off the fighters started opening up. Not warning shots, but to take the bomber out. Then if things couldn't get any worse, it appeared that Parker forgot to push the button that was preventing his turret from firing.

Well hopefully Tycho will be able to at least take out one of the fighters. Rotating the turret to follow a fighter that went whizzing past them, the criminal felt that he will be able to take out the next one. He just needed a good shot.

Tycho held his breath as he aimed his guns at an incoming fighter. Once it was in range, the rebel opened up. Pouring shots into the fighter until it blew apart. Releasing the breath he didn't know he was holding, "One down." He told the other two rebels, swivelling the turret around to follow another fighter. The criminal hoped that with his good luck and Parker foxing his mistake that the rest of the mission will go smoothly.

Mig was excited to see one fighter go down easily. Now they only had one left before it was time to board the enemy. A few stray shots came towards them from the freighter's light laser turret as well as the remaining fighter. The Gotal was ready this time and easily twisted the ship out of harms way before lining it back up with their target. While the gunner on the freighter was waiting for gun cool down, Mig locked onto the turret ball with a torpedo. If he was lucky and managed to hit it just right, it would destroy the turret while not harming the ship contents. A torpedo would also be a good warning message that they better listen to the demands.

"Prepare to be boarded, friends!" Mig said over the comm system to the freighter. "You are being rescued!"

A wooshing sound escaped from the ship, which Mig mimicked as always, signaling that the torpedo had been launched. It flew in a perfect line directly to the freighter before exploding against the turret itself. The shot was as perfect as they came. Shields flashed as they contained the blast to just the turret area before they failed too. Their target was a sitting bantha just waiting to be mounted. Now the turrets just had to finish off that last pesky fighter so they could land on the freighter for docking.

"Take out the last fighter! We're going in!"
Mig said to his ship crew, taking more evasive action to prepare them for their shots.

Finally having everything ready, including having the safety off, Maverick again moved the turret guns to track the oncoming fighter. His eyes focused on the targeting screen as he followed the fighters flight path. He guided the guns to slightly lead the fighter and at the last second, squeezed the trigger.
The fighter erupted in a ball of flame, and the vacuum of space quickly tore it to pieces.
"Got it." Maverick said over the com. "You've got a clear path to the freighter."

Since their path is clear and no more fighters coming, the criminal switched off the turret he was using. He sighed softly as he walked over to where his gear was piled next to the seat he was sitting during the hyperspace jump, "If that is the last of them let's get ready for the next part, Park." He suggested.Tycho started taking the time to make sure his gear is ready, remaining close to the turret he was manning.

Unfortunately the pilot of the freighter was not in the mood to cooperate. And though the freighter is unable to outrun the bomber, he tried to pull the freighter ahead, "No can do, sir. I have strict orders not to stop for anyone." Was a interestingly polite reply Mig will receive from the pilot flying the freighter. Over the pilots voice was the sound of men scrambling and yelling to one another.

Then another voice came through, "When are you Mandalorians going to learn huh?Pilot.. Keep going and don't stop."

"Sir! We have no turrets or escort!" The pilot exclaimed. It seemed that there are two separate parties on the freighter. With it targets that could be considered friendly while the other hostile.

"I said.. Keep going!" Was all that Mig will hear before the communications were cut off.

Tycho was now standing outside the cockpit with his gear ready, "What is that? A hostage situation now?" He asked Mig since he only heard part of the conversation that came through the communications.

It was tough not to giggle as the freighter attempted to pull away. Mig simply ignored the communications after knowing they'd have to force their way in. When asked by Tycho is this was a hostage situation the Gotal took a moment to consider it. Someone was barking orders and demanding things. Someone mentioned Mandalorians too. That was weird. Mig thought the Mandalorians were mostly friends of the Alliance, not the Imperials. Maybe a few worked mercenary jobs or maybe they thought the Rebels were Mandalorians. That was probably it. Mig smiled before turning back to his partners.

"It seems we have friends to rescue, yes!" He exclaimed as he guided the ship to the blown up turret hole in the freighter.

A resounding thud echoed through both ships as Mig expertly positioned them over the hole so there'd be no gaps jumping from ship to ship. An expert pilot move if there ever was one. He would be proud of that one. A big smile was still on his face as he grabbed his gear to head to the ramp with the others. His bowcaster was in hand while the pistol was at his hip holster. He of course wore his typical combat engineer armor and had the PIPE over his back. That would be mildly dangerous but he did not care.

"Crew! Keep the bomber running! Defend it from intruders!" He ordered the remaining ship crew before opening the ramp.

A pair of Gotals moved into the turrets to defend the docked ship while the remaining crew member stood in the cockpit watching sensors and keeping an eye towards the ramp. No surprises would be allowed. Not on Mig's watch. Once everyone was in position, they would lower the ramp and be able to jump right into the ship through their newly created hole. Mig would jump in first as he felt was proper. Eyes peeled for trouble but they'd be expecting the Rebels, or Mandalorians, to come in via the docking tubes. This would be a surprise.

"It's clear. Come on, friends!"
He said to them in a half whisper, half shout. "Take the ship over. Save the crew!"

Tam already had his gear on as well as his blaster, so when the Gotal gave the order to advance, he was good to go..
As the three of them went from the bomber to the freighter they were met by four armed men who had taken up cover behind some larger crates.
Tam dove for cover as blaster fire erupted in the air all around them..."Be careful not to damage the cargo with return fire." he warned. He figured the other two would already know that, but it didn't hurt to remind them.

Tycho nodded as the Gotal confirmed that thry have a hostage situation on their hands now. Well things have certainly intensified. He followed Parker into the Freighter with relative ease. But as soon as the trio got into the freighter, they were greeted with heavy blaster fire as four resistance fighters stood in their way.

Tycho managed to take down one as he ducked behind a large crate. He didn't need to be reminded about being careful with not damaging the cargo. Well then perhaps they need to be more out in the open if that is the case. Tycho is wearing heavy armor so he can perhaps be out in the open as a target to draw fire away from the cargo. Well it is a thought that the criminal is considering.

Mig hardly had time to orient himself before the trio was spotted by some of the guards. They open fired and the Gotal took cover behind a crate as well. Luckily this was not the main cargo hold so they need not worry too much about some damaged goods yet. One of the guards was taken down by Tycho but they still had three pinning them down. No doubt more would come to the chaos and make this a real bad day if they didn't move on quickly. The bowcaster in Mig's hands was a bit bulky for close quarters but it was his favorite weapon.

"Spread out, secure the ship!"
He shouted to his friends as he peeked out to fire at one of the guards.

It was time to make three people seem like a bigger army. If they spread out, they could cause damage and chaos all over making the remaining guards split up and be demoralized. Mig's shot absolutely destroyed one of the guards behind a crate. A bowcaster bolt was nothing armor could really take. The other two seeing the intense weapon focused on Mig instantly. Their shots burned into the wall as the Gotal ducked back behind it. He avoided being hit this time but another guard appeared to replace the one he shot. Not much for progress on escaping but at least a guard was down. They also were focused on Mig for the moment so the other two might have a chance to escape into the halls.

As Mig took out a crate and a guard, the ones left focused their blaster fire in his location, giving Parker a chance to take a slightly more amount of time to aim and fire his own weapon.
He leveled the barrel and squeezed the trigger hitting another guard in his neck killing him instantly.
As he dropped to the ground, Tam looked to where Draykon was and motioned to the adjacent hallway.
“Go! I’ll cover you, and then I’ll be right behind you!”

Popping out from his cover he squeezed off another round of shots, mostly to keep the guard’s attentions on him instead of Draykon...

"Roger!" Tycho noted when Mig told him and Parker to advance. The man was forced to remain behind his source of protection from enemy fire until the Gotal drawed their attention upon himself.

That was the open window that the criminal took advantage of. He nodded to Parker as the man signaled for him to advance, "Right!" He yelled then got out from behijd the crate and ran over to the adjacent hallway, taking out the guard that was hiding there, "Alright! Come on! I will cover you two!" He yelled to Mig and Parker as he started unloading his blaster on the guards to draw their attention towards him.

The others were spitting off to get to other parts of the ship. Mig now had some of the attention taken off of himself as the others covered him. It was the perfect opening to blast away the other two guards. Once they were cleared he would move towards the cockpit to try to take over the freighter. It seemed the crew would be reasonable once these others were gone. He checked that his bowcaster was ready before popping out from cover to shoot at one of the enemies.

"Freeeeeedddoooom!" Mig shouted as he let loose a shot for the nearest enemy, watching the bolt fly through his head and ricochet off the wall into the other guard's head.

Slug throwers were rare, and this bowcaster showed its usefulness. A bounce and double kill was awesome! Mig had been ready to fire a second shot, so when he peeked towards the cockpit and saw a guard coming towards him, he simply fired again. Again the slug thrower showed its worth when it passed right through the unarmed neck of his enemy and wedged itself into the door control mechanism. Now it wouldn't be locked! The door to the cockpit was stuck open thanks to Mig's amazing double shot luck.

"Going for the cockpit, clear the rest of the ship!" Mig said to his partners as he moved towards the cockpit with the bowcaster out in front of himself.

As Tam followed Draykon down the hallway to the main cargo hold, a love guard popped his head out of the doorway.
On instinct, Tam leveled his blaster and fired. The blaster bolt went right through the guard’s head and he dropped to the ground.

Behind him they could hear another guard swearing as he saw his partner go down.

They reached the doorway and Tam took up position on the right, using the wall and doorframe for cover. And so he could get a better view of the cargo hold.
If Draykon wanted to go charging in, then Tam would be in a great place to provide cover.

Tycho ran down the hallway, noticing the guard thst appeared almost out of no where. He did raise his rifle to shoot, but Parker beat him to the punch. Not that the criminal cared, well he would have if the other rebel missed. But Parker's shot was dead on.

Upon reaching the doorway, Tycho took up the left side as his comrade took up the right. Though they can here the other guard beyond the door. He seemed to not be too keen on coming out. So the criminal made the decision to go after him. The guard was more noise than anything though as he ran up but when he went to shoot at the rebel. Well let's say he forgot to turn the safety off.

Tycho was not going to give the guard a second try though and put a couple of bolts into him. Both hitting him in the chest.

The man immediately took a defensive position incase another showed up with his gun blazing.

Mig found himself at the cockpit feeling confident in their victories so far. He aimed the bowcaster inside and quickly found the last guard. Their boss was the only man left. The Gotal tried to take the shot but the earlier commotion had kept the man on high alert. The shot went high and the enemy grabbed the co-pilot, putting his blaster against the hostage's temple. Now it was a stare down. The pair watched each other quietly at first before the Imperial spoke up.

"I'll shoot him, stand down!" He shouted at Mig, his finger tight on the trigger.

A frown crossed Mig's face. That was not very friendly of them. This was why no one liked the Sith Empire. So mean to people. The Gotal slowly lowered his bowcaster towards the floor. It was no use killing the hostage to get this guard. Mig wanted to save these new friends not kill them. They just needed a new life. A new place to deliver these goods and hide away. They needed the Galactic Alliance.

"Okay, okay. No need to hurt friends!" Mig said in response, trying to reassure the man. "We just want the sh-"

Mig was cut off as the Imperial shoved the co-pilot into him and fired twice. The hostage was dead and he then grabbed the pilot to hold a blaster to his head. Shock overtook Mig as he backed away and helped the body fall to the floor slowly. He never had seen such carelessness or cold blooded death. A few tears formed as he saw the pointless execution. Now there was another man in the same position being held.

"I mean it, I'll kill them all! Leave the ship!" He demanded of Mig who was still trying to recover from his tears.

"Monster! Not a friend!" He shouted as he backed into cover behind the door.

The last guard in the cargo bay was firing his blaster like a mad-man. He had run in from the other direction and saw his buddy dead on the floor and just snapped. The bolts came in scores as Tam looked across the hallway to Draykon. "Get back to the cockpit and help Mig. I've got this."
As Draykon ran back the way they had come, Tam took a deep breath and rolled through the doorway and toward another cart... as he did, he fired off a couple of rounds to hit the guard in the midst of blaster fire.
One of his shots actually hit the guard square in the chest, dropping him to the ground. As Tam landed onto his back-side, he felt a sting in his right arm. Looking down he saw that his "heroic" feat was not without cost. His arm was covered in blood and there was a hole in his shoulder.
As he leaned against the crate he coughed once and turned on his com.
"Cargo bay is secure. I think I'll take a nap."
