Emryc said nothing as she rushed past him to put herself between him and the beast. In truth, he already knew she was no match for it, but he wasn’t going to mention that aloud. Instead, he stayed back, calmly watching the abomination as it reeled back and prepared to attack. It had no visible eyes like most abominations, and it mainly sensed through the Force. Emryc knew his cover would be blown the longer the beast had the opportunity to gravitate towards the powerful Force user. However, he would have to wait for an opportune moment before acting.
The Sithspawn paused for a moment, sensing a powerful and oppressive presence in the Force. It had been created to obey and serve, but it didn’t have a master for a very long time. It had burrowed and slept in these caverns for centuries and now the Dark Side pulsed so deliciously through these tunnels. Emryc didn’t react and pretended to be a useless civilian with no real strength. He kept his gaze on the creature as he kept his distance, marveling at it from afar. He knew this beast could come in handy, but he had to ensure it wasn’t killed first.
Regardless of whatever attack Celeste launched at it, the Sithspawn suddenly drilled into the ground beneath it. For a moment, there was nothing but silence and Emryc said nothing. Abruptly, the Sithspawn broke through the ground again right below where Celeste was standing. As a result, she would be physically thrown and slammed towards the ceiling of the tunnel. At the same time, the beast began to invade her mind, jarring her thoughts to break her focus to make it difficult to use the Force as effectively. Sithspawn like these were extremely powerful in mental tactics, and this creature was ancient.
Emryc shuffled a few more steps back as any civilian would and masked himself in the Force, calmly wondering if he would be witness to Celeste’s death before his eyes. He discreetly channeled the Force to apply at an opportune moment whenever it would present itself. The Senator was outmatched here and there was no stopping the beast without him getting involved. It would quickly come down to whether he was willing to watch her die or risk blowing his cover.
