Orn Mantell - Outside of Outlaw Tech's Regional HQ

All the pieces had come together. They had subtly pushed the workers into rioting against the company, then they had blackmailed the regional head of Outlaw Security. One more violent push and Outlaw would certainly be open to selling their assets here.

Gil stood in a building that looked out at the back of the headquarters where all the regional managers of Outlaw Tech had gathered to discuss how to put an end to riots. Even as they did, protester numbers had steadily grown out in front of the building. They were peaceful enough, for now, everyone wanting an end to the violence but they would have to be pushed one more time.

He wasn't thrilled Tasha had been called away at the last minute. They had worked perfectly together on this up until this point but the plan was simple enough from here on out. He had brought it another associate from the company, one who he didn't think would mind the violence too much.

"So once we get our opening, we slip inside and make our way to the boardroom on the fourth floor. Once there, we send a message that will certainly send Outlaw running from this sector. Any questions?" he asked as he was pulling on his helmet. This last step would be a bloody one, but if everything went to plan the only people who would die would be the board members.

Tagal hadn't been involved in this op since the start but that wasn't a big loss - he knew the overall plan in broad strokes and when you were coming in at the end, that was all you really needed in his opinion. Strapping his armour and weapons to himself, Tagal secured his helmet and ran down his last checks.

He had a spare clip of ammo to each of his guns, his rifle was slung over his shoulder, his pistol holstered at his waist, his blade on the other side and his grenades in place along the back of his belt.

Truth be told, Tagal would have felt more comfortable in his new armour but it wasn't ready yet so he was going to have to make do with the armour he had currently. He wasn't about to complain since it would do the job. He nodded to Gillian in confirmation as he checked over his armour's functions as part of his final preparations.

"Understood." he confirmed through his helmet, "I'll go loud on your mark."

His blade was ready to be drawn and his hand was resting close to his blaster pistol already - Tagal was ready to throw down and he had no issues listening to Gillian when it came to orders either. This was, at the end of the day, his op and Tagal would respect that.

He nodded as he pulled the phone out of his pocket and sent the message to the security director who they had blackmailed onto their side. The man had been worried sick about his wife after they had kidnapped her and her lover so had agreed to do everything he was asked up until this point. Gil had little doubt the man would continue, it was his only hope. He wondered what he would do when he found out he had thrown his life away for a wife who had been cheating on him.

A few seconds later, an explosion sounded just outside the front side of the building. Chatter erupted from security forces as they scrambled to see what had caused the blast. The protestors screamed and the peaceful exchange turned violent quickly. "All security forces are to respond to the front immediately!" sounded the security director. A few questioned him but he quickly yelled into the comms for them to respond.

"And there is our cue." he said exiting the building and beginning to cross the street to the back of the building. They would still likely run into security forces on the first floor, but luckily Gil wasn't planning on entering that direction. He pointed his wrist towards a third-floor balcony and pressed a button sending the grappling hook flying before latching on to its target. "You can either climb or hold on." he said to the man. The grappling hook would pull both of them up if he didn't have a way of getting up himself.

Once up at the balcony, Gil looked inside to find the third-floor conference room the balcony was attached to was empty. The meeting was taking place one floor up. Gil pulled a card he had been given by their man and swiped it. The light on the keypad turned green and the door clicked open.

Tagal was prepared for the explosion but he drew his pistol anyway. They were about ready to actually get a move on so it made sense to him to get his gun out. That and he would be free to admit that he was more than a little bit excited about this op in itself. He was looking forward to getting his adrenaline pumping again - it had been almost a month since the last time someone had shot at him and he was beginning to get a bit too bored and a bit too safe.

Maybe it was a Mandalorian thing but Tagal was only really happy when he was tinkering with something or when he was being shot at. Strange? Perhaps but whatever got your blood up, right?

Following Gillian, the Mandalorian smith kept his eyes peeled as they approached their insertion point. Which was the back of the building - because sometimes the simplest solutions were the best ones. Why reinvent the wheel after all? He looked up as Gil shot a grappling hook up.

Tagal... did not have one.

"... I miss my beskar..." he muttered even as he clung onto Gillian, "Next time I'm bringing a grappling gun."

Next time.

Once on the balcony, Tagal waited for Gillian to open the balcony door before slipping into the room. It was empty but that wasn't a sign of much. Moving further into the building with his blaster pistol at the ready, Tagal narrowed his eyes as he took a quick look out into the corridor.

The security camera was moving in an arc... he sprinted forwards, flattening himself against the wall underneath the camera before reaching up and pulling it's wires out.

"Clear to move up."

"I usually wait atleast until the second mission to get this close." he said with a chuckle as the grappling hook wenched them upwards. They quickly made there was inside, dodging around cameras. Whoever was watching cameras was likely paying attention to the cameras outside but it was still good to take them out as they went to avoid detection before they could get in the conference room.

He thought about the layout of the building he had committed to memory. "This way." he said ducking into a door that led to a stairwell. He bounded up the stairs to the fourth floor. They were close but still needed to act fast.

Gil inched open the door before moving into the hallway. He peaked around the corner just before they arrived at the conference room door. There were two guards still posted outside the door. These must of been one of the managers personal guards, not under the control of their mole.

"Time to get messy. We are going to need to do this fast." he said pulling out his vibroknife. He didn't want to fire a blaster if he could help it. That would only really put them on the clock. He counted them down "3...2.." he said before holding up one finger and turned around the corner.

Gil flung the knife, twirling in the air as it sunk into the first guard.

And the jokes started... he REALLY missed his old armour and he was going to make sure he started carrying a grapple gun in the future just in case. He was going to really hate hearing about this at the office Life Day party but otherwise he was happy to just get on with the job - and that included following Gillian up the stairwell and deeper into the building.

Thankfully one thing he did have on him at all times?

A vibroknife.

It was nothing to write home about but it was enough to get the job done, especially when the job that needed doing was a silent takedown. Whereas Gillian threw his knife as he leaned out around the corner, Tagal actually stepped around the corner to throw his openly.

Both blades flew through the air and Tagal ran forwards as well as silently as possible. Both blades sank into the soft flesh of their targets and the men began to fall. Sliding along the floor, Tagal lay on his side, letting both corpses fall onto him rather than the ground. This muffled the sounds, leaving no one any the wiser that the guards were now dead.

Picking himself up off the floor carefully, Tagal gripped one of his blaster pistols tighter.

"... I hope we're going loud now..." he muttered quietly to Gillian, "I'm honestly surprised that worked."

He smirked as the two guards fell. "Everyone gets lucky sometimes.." he said as he pulled his quickdraw from its holster. With his other hand, he pulled a concussion grenade from his belt.

"And yeah...I suspect the rest of this will be loud and messy." he said snatching one of the key cards from the belt of the dead guard. "I don't know how many are going to be inside, all I could do was get rid of the guards outside the room." he said. There was nothing to be done for it.

He held the card up to the door. "Ready?" he asked before swiping the card and ducking behind the wall as he rolled the grenade in. Two seconds went by before there was a loud booming sound that knocked out the windows. It would take time for the security forces to respond below giving them a window to take out the guards and the board members.

He poked his head in the door seeing the mostly destroyed room. Some people lay unconscious but the guards inside wore armor that mitigated some of the blow and was recovering quickly. He counted ten guards in total as he shot one, two bolts slamming into his chest and tossing him down to the floor.

Well...nine.

Time for them to go loud.

Tagal was someone who rather liked it when it was time to go loud - he was the kind of man who didn't disparage people who preferred being sneaky but recognized that he was never going to be one of those people. Sneaking around was something he had done in the past but it was also something he wasn't all that good at. Going loud? Well he was a little bit better at it than being sneaky but it also had the added benefit of being comfortable.

Easy.

If he died while sneaking he was likely to die while crouch-walking like a crab. At least if he died while they were going loud he would die comfortable and at ease. He nodded to Gillian to open the door even as he drew his other pistol in his free hand and prepared himself.

No blades for now.

Stepping out into the room after the grenade stirred the hornet's nest, Tagal began blasting away with both of his blaster pistols as he advanced into the room. Honestly he didn't do too much damage - he managed to kill one guard - but that wasn't his intention. He managed to get the remaining guards to scramble for cover as he reached the heavy wooden table in the centre of the room and tipped it onto it's side to act as cover for himself and Gillian.

One of the workers, not a guard, groaned beside him on the ground.

Tagal pulled the trigger, blasting his skull apart.

"How we doing for time?"

Gil advanced behind Tagal, taking out another guard as he entered. He gunned down two of the board members as they tried to flee, both falling with the blaster holes burning in their backs.

He ducked a swing by one of the guards, pulling a knife out and stabbing it into the man's thigh which caused the man to drop his defenses allowing Gil to plunged the knife in the man's neck sending blood shooting everywhere.

"We're just seconds from being overwhelmed by 30ish guards. I am sure we are fine." he said almost casually as he gunned down another one of the board members.

One of the guards took aim at Gil, but a fleeing businessman ran in front of him at the last second taking the shot instead. That was fortunate, it was nice of the guards to help out. Gil quickly leveled his blaster and took out the guard.

"We could probably wrap this up anytime now.." he said trying to spot the remaining board members. Those were the ones they needed to kill.

Tagal sighed a little bit as he dodged a blaster bolt and fired one in return, blasting a guard away with a well-aimed shot before ducking back down behind cover. He looked at Gillian but it was probably hard to tell he was giving the other man the stink eye by the fact that he was wearing a helmet.

"Second away from being overwhelmed by 30ish guards you say?" he shrugged once, "30 might actually make this something of a challenge."

He was mostly joking.

The quality of guards here was... questionable at best but, in their defense, they were the last line. The guards here were only ever supposed to deal with threats that had already made it through several layers of prior security. Unless, as he and Gillian had, the threat had simply gotten past the outer layers of security through deception.

He peaked over the cover, noticing that the guards were trying to move the remaining board members to safety. Taking a deep breath, Tagal got Gil's attention.

"I'm going to draw their fire - take out their VIPs while they're shooting at me please?"

Drawing his blade, Tagal narrowed his eyes behind his helmet and gave himself a quick mental pep talk before roaring and vaulting over the cover and charging forwards. The guards immediately turned their attention to trying to gun him down rather than protecting the board members. That would give Gil a window but it also meant that Tagal was a LITTLE bit more concerned with dodging and rolling his way out of a blaster bolt enema.

Blaster fire crisscrossed the room as the remaining guards began to try and get the board members to safety through a side room. They had both ducked behind cover and Gil found himself chuckling at the man's joke. "No sense in paying you if its going to be boing..." he said ducking around the corner and firing over the head of a cowering board member causing the man to dive back to the floor.

Joking aside, they couldn't let them escape and needed to hurry. He nodded at the man's plan as he vaulted from cover and into the fray. With both pistols drawn, Gil stood up and fired, focusing on the board members. They were unarmored and were fairly slow for the most part. He gunned each of them down, letting Tagal worry about the guards. Distracted the guards did little to stop Gil from killing what was left of the Board.

"We need to get out of here." he said as the last board member fell. The room was a destroyed mess, the windows had been blown out giving them a view of the riots below. Gil began to withdrawal, unclipping his two frag grenades as he made his out the door.

When Tagal was clear, Gil would toss the grenades in ensuring there would be no survivors. He opened the door to the stairwell and could hear the heavy armored footsteps of the guards heading up the stairs. "Well we aren't going that way."

He thought for a second. "We could go out a window and swing down to that balcony and repel down." he said taking off down the hallway towards the back of the building.

Tagal's charge had been mad and it was probably only that fact that meant that it had worked even as well as it had done to this point; namely in that he hadn't immediately been gunned down. Turning this small piece of luck into something approaching a successful attack? Well that was where skill came into play!

And more luck.

Thrusting his blade forwards, Tagal impaled one of the guards through the throat, ending his life and turning him into a handy little meat shield that Tagal held in front of him as he furiously backpedaled away from the remaining guards. He was up for a good fight but the Mandalorian liked living too.

They needed to get out of here?

"You're a master of understatement!" he hissed even as he kicked the corpse back into his friends before throwing himself backwards to avoid a blaster bolt, "You have to work at it or were you born that good?"

Making it around the doorframe, Tagal allowed himself a moment of relief before the grenade exploded and reminded him that he had time to enjoy being alive later. Pushing himself into motion, Tagal accelerated to a sprint down the corridor, not entirely confident that there weren't going to be more guards behind them somewhere.

"There's a balcony one level below us, yeah." he fired his pistol, blasting the window apart before holstering it on the run, "Prep your grapple to go from that level but on the opposite side of the building - throw off pursuit. And don't scream."

Grabbing Gillian around the waist with his right arm, Tagal dragged the other man out the window with himself. His left arm facing down activated his built in shield, the blue barrier springing up as they fell to protect them from the brunt of the damage.

Right until their combined weight, and some shoddy workmanship in the construction of the balcony, meant that they went straight through the balcony one level below them to crash into the balcony two levels below them. Landing heavily with Gillian atop of him, the only one of them entirely unharmed, Tagal grumbled slightly as he pulled himself to his feet, noticing the pain that meant he had dislocated his left shoulder in a rather abstract kind of way.

"... at least you didn't scream."

Before Gil knew what was happening, he was being dragged out the window by Tagal as they fell down the balcony below. It would have been an easy landing if it hadn't been for the poor construction of the balcony.

They crashed through, Gil tumbling several times before landing on top of the Mandalorian. It didn't feel great, but it certainly felt a good bit better than it had for his partner. Gil let out a cough as plaster dust fell down on top of them.

"I'm usually down for pillow talk, but I guess we skip it this time." he said rolling over and pulling the man to his feet. They would make their escape, the guards firing several shots at them from the window they had jumped out of as they made their escape.

Once into the city, it was an easy thing to disappear. The riots continued for hours, at one point they had breached the building and had almost burnt it down. It had been enough to spook Outlaw into pulling out of the area as they quickly moved to sell their assets cheaply, an opportunity that Blackwell was more than happy to take them up on. \
