Alderaan has become a key part of Vollens life now, far more so than he ever could have imagined as a young man, even just a few years ago the task of the Alderaanian Investigstion was simply allegations of corruption. Now? Now it had become something far bigger. From murder charges, to civil war, to now. Well, now there was to be conflict on a galactic scale, and somehow he had been at the heart of far too much of it.
But Alderaan would not let him leave it so easily, nor would the Council, who had suggested his return to the planet in the hopes of diplomatic effort. Of course, that was before the Republic and the Cartel had gone to war. There was little he could do for a peace process there. But among the houses of Alderaan many still did not, or would not believe the evidence, or otherwise would not oppose Lucile’s corrupt regime. It was something the Republic could not stand, and given Vollens position in th investigation, it still fell in part to him to show them the evidence, the danger Lucile and the Cartel posed to Alderaan.
So then, alongside Republic Senator Trenton Kaizer, a selection of these minor houses: Qel-Nosh, Serrus, Frayus, and Syrush, had come together at House Harlow's palace, to hear the evidence of the investigation firsthand, and hopefully be brought in to assist against Lucile here, and the Republic at large.
Vollen was acting as security, mediator, and perhaps even negotiator if the time called for it. He was here because of the investigation primarily, the Senator likely more focused on the cooperation.
Entering into the negotiation chambers here now Vollen admitted he had worries. The Council had wished him to act on Alderaan, it was a chance to learn a lesson after his failures on Jedha. And now he came here as a member of that same Council. He felt the weight upon him,
"Afternoon, ambassadors" he greeted those assembled with a polite nod.
It would soon be time to begin.
