De-Purteen, Ord Cantrell, Outer Rim Territories

Aurelian had arrived on Ord Cantrell a few days ago for a meeting with a fellow Jedi Order researcher albeit for personal business unrelated to his Alliance duties. The scholar hadn’t even heard of Ord Cantrell until he got a request for a meeting here. Now that the meeting was done he had some time before the Tempest Hunter arrived to pick him up so he thought he’d best take advantage of the freedom to do a little shopping.

The City of De-Purteen was little short of breathtaking, Aurelian had spent a lot of time on the Outer Rim and he tended to expect shanty towns or, at best, polluted urban jungles. Ord Cantrell in some ways however was closer to a Core World like Alderaan in terms of architecture. He wondered what had ever possessed anyone invest so much time and money in a planet so far from the Core. It had to have started as the pet project of someone extremely wealthy and powerful.

However it was not to appreciate the City’s history or architecture that Aurelian had come here. He’d gotten word of a well-stocked book store which held obscure and borderline forbidden texts but had a certain level of protection from Imperial oversight due to the planet’s location and its affluent patrons.

Following the instructions he’d been given Aurelian eventually came to the end of the street the directions he’d been following. Looking up he saw a book store called Between the Sheets, it was huge with colossal store front windows showing a beautifully decorated modern interior. He had been warned to not go into this particular store. The person who’d given him the directions had disdainfully described it being generally for rich noblewomen with little better to do with their free time except read books that were barely better than smut. Instead Aurelian continued down the street he found a much smaller shop, with a classical wooden storefront, called the Literarium.

As he entered into the shop a soft alarm dinged to alert the storekeeper to a new customer’s presence. The elderly human man looked up and smiled at Aurelian. “Welcome sir. Please just let me know if I can help.” he greeted before going back to his datapad.

“Thank you, I will.” he replied politely.

Aurelian walked around the store, although it was a narrow shop it extended quite far back. It was filled with various datapads loaded with texts, fact and fiction but more importantly it had an entire section towards the back of actual paper books. Although these were rarer, more expensive and generally considered an outdated and inefficient it was by far Aurelian’s favourite to use for reading.

Taking out his notebook he set it down on a nearby table, leaving it open on a list of various titles of force related texts that might help his Jedi studies. The store was otherwise empty anyway so he wasn't worried. Reading over the list he nodded and approached the bookcases and began checking through the contents.
