“Only the Devil and I know the whereabouts of my treasure, and the one of us who lives the longest should take it all. ”
― Edward Teach

It's a pirate's life for the sentient beings who choose to live on the planet of Ord Antalanha. Free from the far reaching arm of the republic in the outer rim territories this pirate planet is home to just as many criminals as civilians. Contrary to popular belief this hasn't led the populace into destruction, rather it has developed a symbiotic relationship between it's inhabitants encouraging them to work together to create a self sustaining society. The pirates seek to continue their freewheeling ways, the civilians seek to live happy and protected lives. Together the pirates fiercely protect the people and the people provide mercantile goods for the pirates. To the outside galaxy Ord Antalaha is seen as dangerous world full of swindlers and cut throats; however, once you peer past the veil of horror stories, the inhabitants are welcoming and generally amiable. Be warned, any outside organization that threatens the civilians of this planet will have to deal with the full might of the Council of 12.

Terrain

As the sun rises from Ord Antalaha's horizon it casts its light upon the planet's lush forests, sweeping grassy plains, majestic mountains, and vast oceans. This pirate infested planet is home to a diverse terrain that ranges from barren desert to fertile farmland. There are two primary types of terrain on Ord Antalaha, forest and grassland.

The forests vary depending on the portion of the planet one is on. In the north the forests are littered with humongous trees with thick red trunks. These trees are large enough to tunnel through and can be hollowed for inhabitants to make a home out of. In the past there were sprawling wooden cities that speckled the northern portion of the planet. In the southern portion of the planet the forests are thick with vegetation and dense with winding trees. These jungles were home to a myriad of the planet's original pirates. The dense foliage making the perfect cover for a criminal on the run.

The grasslands stand as a stark contrast to the dense forests. The wide sweeping plains are fertile and fantastic for farming. Before the reformation of the monarchy on the planet these plains were fought over as if they held gold beneath their green earthy exterior. It was said "Whoever holds the farmlands holds the planet..." Now these never ending plains are sparsely populated and only those that seek to distance themselves from the Council of 12 live upon their vast expanse.

Aside from the dense forests and vast plains, Ord Antalaha contains various mountain ranges that have acted as hideouts for various pirates throughout history. The ocean's on this planet are relatively small compared to worlds like Imynusoph, but the planet's populace built its culture and economy upon the ever changing tides. Each of the five main cities are located within direct proximity to the ocean. These locations and their influence upon the world were part of the reason why the life of a pirate quickly became the norm.

Climate

The diversity of Ord Antalaha's terrain is accompanied by an equally diverse climate. Harsh rains, tropical storms, blizzards, and an occasional hail storm are a few examples of the different challenges inhabitants of this planet must face. Luckily, these hazards tend to be few and far inbetween.

The climate on the globe tends to very temperate. As with the terrain, the climate differs depending on what portion of the map one is currently located. In the north the temperature tends to be much colder and during winter experiences snowfall and flash freezes that can crop up out of nowhere with little warning. In the south they are spared the harsh winters, but the trade off can be much more dangerous for a pirate upon the seas. The southern portion of the planet is rather tropical and as such is vulnerable to powerful tropical storms. These storms can manifest into tornadoes and hurricanes however, with as dangerous as they can be, these powerful forces of nature rarely land upon the shore.

Overall, the planet is blessed with four season that remain very mild. The air on the planet is breathable to humans and other similar sentient beings. The gravitational pull on the planet is considered standard based on the Republic's measurements. With mild seasons, easily breathable air and a normal gravitational pull, Ord Antalaha is an easily inhabitable planet; however, like it's inhabitants the planet can be harsh and unforgiving for those who underestimate it's power and ferocity.

Fort Divin

"Fort Divin is where the pirates left the sea and took to the stars."
- Captain James Cook

Fort Divin is widely known as Ord Antalaha's port to the galaxy. While there are other spaceports on the planet, the largest one is in this city. With that being the case the main commerce here is mercantile goods and plunder. Many pirates call the Fort their home simply because of the spaceport. It offers quick access to their trade and allows them to enjoy the simpler things in life when they're in port. Compared to Ecumenopolis' like Coruscant the spaceport is incredibly small. The largest ship the port could house was a mid sized corvette. Despite this the port is still considered one of the greatest assets the planet has to offer. Along with the port Fort Divin has a fantastic star ship market where an individual can get a fair price on a ship, provided they know the right people.

Fort Divin is known to the pirates as "In Portum Voluntatis" or desired haven. Bars, clubs, restaurants and other amenities are all at your fingertips when stepping into the culturally diverse city. Anything you could possibly desire is attainable in Fort Divin, so long as you're willing to pay the right price for it.

Jacinto

"Shimmering cerulean waters, delicious food, and the direct protection of the 12? Why wouldn't I open up shop here?! "
- Mika Drask, Store Owner
Jacinto is the capital of Ord Antalaha. It stands as a shining example of the planet's ability to keep the peace while while pirate run the world. The city stands as a symbol of the civilizations unspoken agreement to take care of one another. Several historical items are located in this city, as with many planet capitals, these items include: the original handwritten pirate code, the Scales of Libertallia and a true to life sized replica of one of the most famous pirate ships, The Fancy. Jacinto, aside from being home to much of the planet's history, is also home to the Sanctum of 12. This building stands as the planet's main government building. It is the official meeting place of the Council of 12.

While being a prominent fixture upon the landscape of Ord Antalaha, Jacinto, also lead the the forefront in the planet's fishing market. The waters around Jacinto are considered sacred to the people and they are treated as such. Due to this lack of water pollution the aquatic life near the cities ports are abundant. When it comes to activities the city has many restaurants, bars, and beaches to entertain it's populace. With the fishing community being as popular as it is, the city was become very well known for it's seafood.

Gemma

"Gemma? It's our hidden treasure! Name a better place to hide your plunder than underground?"
- Firstmate Coral DuMont
The Hidden gem of Ord Antalaha, Gemma, is a city to whet the appetite of any gambler in the Ord Antalaha system. Renowned casino's boasting the hottest Pazaak tables on the planet and the strongest drinks of the five cities. Gemma is the premiere city for those looking to unwind and try their hand at the Pazzac tables. In time past the city was a hidden treasure trove for the pirates of old, however when the Council of 12 took hold of the country the hideout was expanded upon and built into the gambling capitol of the planet.

The residents in Gemma tend to be civilians making their living off the losses of greedy spacers, but every now and then the city gains a pirate or two who hope to strike it big at the tables rather than risking their lives in among the stars. Aside from the gambling tabels there are also elaborate shows fine dining and a number of resorts for people to linger in.

The city also has a mining operation that is located 10km outside the city's perimeter. This operation is partnered with several of the factories based in Durum and helps to supplement the planets exports as well as supplying the various pirate crews with the supplies needed to repair or equip their ships.

Durum

"Work, hard work is what the people of Durum do, and when we aren't working you can bet we're playing! All work and no play would make Durum a prison!"
- Kor Zeles, Factory Worker
Durum, the industrial city of Ord Antalaha. Home to hard work and blue collar beings that never let the sun catch them sleeping. Durum is the main manufacturing city on the planet and as such employs many civilians. The main export from this city is a combination of metal and glass. With the cities close proximity to Gemma, it is able to smelt and form the ore harvested from the hidden city and turn a profit. Gemma of course isn't neglected for their efforts, Duram, pays handsomely for the earthly fruit provided to them. Due to the sheer size of the factories and storehouses in the city the majority of the inhabitants live in rural homes on the outskirts of the cities perimeter. These neighborhoods give a breath of fresh air to the overly serious city of business.

When it comes to relaxation and libations the people of this city turn to their own homes. The neighborhoods just outside the city throw large festivals to celebrate the end of a week and the beginning of a prosperous one. They go all out, offering food, drink, music, and jovial conversation. These grim faced beings party as hard as they work. Their weekend festivals are that of legend and many travel from around the planet to partake in the festivities.

Gloriana

"Harken back to the golden age, when the pirate queen reigned supreme and Gloriana will be seen."
- Drake, Traveling Bard
Gloriana is a city of rich history. Of the five cities it is the oldest. It's establishment can be traced all the way back to the feudal history of Ord Antalaha and the crowning of the Pirate Queen. It has long been considered a historical landmark on the planet and many of its traditions and architecture have been preserved to honor the pirates of the past. Many of the inhabitants are landowners and farmers who live just outside the city, while those that live in it are wealthy beyond belief. The bay area of the city is home to several miles of public and private beaches that tend to be a main vacation spot for those looking to relax by the sea.

The farmland just outside of the city is the most expensive portion of harvestable land on the entire planet. As such the farmers live good lives by supplying various food stuffs to the rest of the planet.

Gloriana is a very rich city that stands as a reminder to all that the life of a pirate can be one of great fortune. Pirates from across the planet come to pay homage to the great city. Within the walls of the historical township lies a graveyard. This graveyard is the final resting place for many famous pirates and is the highest honors a pirate from Ord Antalaha can earn.

Blood + Pirates
__________

Betrayal, assassination, high seas and mountains of treasure. That is the history of Ord Antalaha. Beginning back before the stars became the planet's oceans, before the first starships settled upon it's surface, there was a young woman stepping into the position of Queen. This young woman is depicted in pictures and is portrayed in Holo vids to this day. The woman in question is none other than Aliya Dayas, The Red Queen. To truly understand her story one must understand the state of Ord Antalaha at the time of her succession. In her time there were three main powers vying for total control over the planet. These powers were called: The Azurians, The Rojas, and The Verdan. Aliya was the newly appointed queen of the Roja's monarchy. Her ascension to the throne was one of great distress and much death, but that story is for another time. The Red Queen stepped into power during the height of a world war.

It was the year of the thirteenth Moon. The Verden, a country that valued knowledge and exploration above all else, sent several naval ships into the ocean blue to discover what lie beyond the horizon. The Verden currently held the most land and were looking to expand their reach without forcing their rule upon the other two nations. However, in all of their efforts to avoid conflict, the Azurians, didn't appreciate the Verden expanding their realm any further. A summit was called and the Regents from each country met upon neutral ground to discuss the Verden's current endeavor. it was during this meet that the treachery of the Azurians was exposed.

As the three leaders entered the sacred hall, a hall that stood for peace and prosperity for all nations, The Azurians attacked. The King of the Azure plains, Droba Kaal, launched a three pronged attack upon the hall, the capital city of Verden Viridis, and the capital city of the Rojas Rubrum. In a single swoop Droba Kaal sacked both capital cities and held the lives of both regents in his hands. This moment would go down in history as The Great Treachery. With a smug expression on his face King Droba ordered the execution of the other two and stepped into what he assumed was the role of planetary supremacy. However, for all his tactical prowess, Droba Kaal was unable to see the rising star in the west.

As with most young cultures the strongest tend to rule. Following this thought process the line of succession in Rojas was primarily male; however, King Caleb Dayas, had given birth to a young woman, who he'd decreed would act as his successor. This young woman was Aliya Dayas. Aliya at the age of six was sent to live with friends of the royal family so that she could be educated and given the chance to experience life before the chains of rule denied her the ability to live a normal life. The family Aliya was sent to live with were the Preadum. Alexander Preadum was a man that valued three things in life, his family, his education, and the sea. Many say he was the first pirate to ever sail the seas, but this fact is hidden from history. To the king he was a dear friend and loyal supporter to the crown, to Aliya he would be, Uncle Alex.
Alexander cared for and raised Aliya as if she were his own. Imparting upon her a love for the ocean, vast knowledge of politics, arithmetic and literature and naval tactics. Aliya lived with the Preadum family for ten years and in that time she became well educated in all Alexander could teach. Master Preadum was quoted in saying "Aliya will be the greatest queen the Rojas have ever seen, I'd bet my fortune on it." Unfortunately, her ascension to the throne would be premature. When Alexander Preadum received the news of his dear friend's death he so wrought with emotion he fell to the ground and wept. When he'd overcome his emotions he imparted the news to Aliya, and she reacted in a completely different way. There was no crying, no mourning, no anger, there was only a girl and the fate of her kingdom. Rather than succumbing to depression, Aliya buried her pain and used that fire to motivate her. The birth of the first queen of Rojas had been consummated in blood, and through that blood she would reign.

Aliya began her journey back to the royal city of Rubrum. She did not take to the land for her journey, she took to the sea. Alexander Preadum vowed to protect her and return the young Aliya to the throne. In his live Alexander had gone by many titles and many names, amassing connections and companions throughout the countryside. Many of these cohorts were men that held no allegiance to the sovereignty of any man. They called the sea their home and they made their own fortune. Through several meetings with these sea rogues, Aliya was able to work out a profitable negotiation for herself and the Seamen. The deal was simple: Get me my thrown, and you'll have my support in your adventures. This accord led to the Rojas obtaining the most dangerous naval fleet upon the surface of Ord Antalaha.

The war between Azuria and Rojas was a bloody account that lasted months, but with her accord with the sea dogs an agreement with the Verdan, the nation of Rojas was able to repel the Demon King Droba Kaal. His capture and public execution ushered in an age of peace and exploration. The Rojas and the Verden divided up the nation of Azuria equally and maintained pleasant relations throughout the duration of their existence. For the rest of her days, Aliya Dayas would honor her agreement with the Sea dogs for the rest of her reign and upon her death bed would decree that the bravery and nobility shown by these free men was to honored past her death, and so it was.

Throughout the rest of Ord Antalaha's history, pirates stood as a pivotal group that helped to shape the planet into what it is today. Thanks to the bravery and trust of the planet's most famous monarch the people of Ord Antalaha have lived lives full of adventure and freedom. The progress that took place between the nation of Vera and Rojas eventually blossomed into a unification of the two separate nations This unification furthered the progress already made by their past treaties and it was through this unification that the democratic government of the council of 12 was formed.

The Sea in the Stars
__________

Some ask what a seemingly bloodthirsty haven for pirate can rightly offer the galaxy and to answer that one must only look to it's recent history. Modern Ord Antalaha stands as a free planet that revels in the liberty allotted by it's location in the outer rim territories. While primarily a haven for pirates, smugglers, and other nefarious characters, Ord Antalaha, is a planet that seeks to strengthen its position in the universe. Through the efforts of their native adventurers, the planet had a large hand in creating the Outer Rim Trade Treaty. This treaty solidified trade between several planets within the grid range M-20 to J-21. Aside from establishing trade the pirates of Ord Antalaha have spent countless hours mapping safe routes throughout the outer rim. These routes of course are only available to the registered pirates of the planet. Sticking to their roots this planet built on the code of piracy remains a pirate planet at heart. In recent history these swashbuckling pioneers have helped to unify the outer rim as much as they have plundered it.

The Outer Rim Trade Treaty is proof of the Ord Antalahanian way. Many years were wasted hopelessly pillaging various merchant ships throughout the outer rim. This area simply wasn't profitable enough to truly run the planet. To adjust for this The council of 12 called for a temporary ban on piracy in the outer rim. A interplanetary conference was held on the neutral planet of Rutan. It was there that the leaders of some of the most profitable planets in the rim came to see what these dastardly pirates had concocted this time. On the planet of Rutan after six days of deliberation the treaty was completed and signed. This of course was a ploy for the pirates. They would uphold their end of the bargain and run security and protection for the less equipped merchant ships of their new allies, but to the leaders and planets that didn't sign the treaty, they had just opened the door for full on Piracy.
Pirates will be pirates. With the completion of the ORTT The council of 12 knew exactly who they could attack and who they couldn't, from there they developed a system that would deploy pirate crews to various parts of the outer rim to complete various tasks. Some would be sent to raid the trade convoys of planet that refused to sign the treaty, other sent to protect the merchants that had signed. This tactic lined the pockets of all pirates involved with more credits than they could imagine. When the pirate crews weren't plundering merchant convoys or protecting their allies they were allowed to to return to the surface and enjoy a much needed rest. On a typical deployment a pirate crew would spend, three months plundering, three to six months running security, and then 6 months in port on planet. When on planet the pirates often spent their time in one of the five main cities. These cities merge the life of a pirate with the life of the average civilian.

The life of a civilian was nothing glamourous. It was a simple life where they worked various jobs that could be found on any planet throughout the galaxy. However, even with the mundine there was always the promise of gold. Some merchants on the planet have risen through the ranks of the peddlers and have created mercantile empires that have vetted them more coin than most on the planet. Success is a choice on Ord Antalaha and any who seek riches will be forced to endure great tribulation. For those that seek simple lives, they are welcome. The bar keeps, small peddlers, and factory workers are all content with their lot in life. Across the board Ord Antalaha, has contributed to the well being of the outer rim as much as they have plundered it. History has written them as bloodthirsty pirates that seek nothing, but their own fortune; however, their actions have proven them to be much more than just pirates. Only time will tell if the planet has more to offer the galaxy.

Government

To understand the people and culture of Ord Antalahan, one must look to their history and the evolution of their government. The history of the planet is marred with failed monarchs that sought to perpetuate their own ideals and subjugate the masses underfoot. These kings and queens believed the only way to rule the planet and their respective countries was through oppression. However, this type of rule only led to in fighting and destruction. Upon the beginning of the second age (the introduction of space travel and unification of the planet) it was clear that no one ruler would be fit to represent the planet on all fronts. Thus the Council of 12 was conceived. The council of 12 is a democratic assembly that is composed of far more than twelve individuals, but standing at the helm of the council are twelve captains that have proven themselves above and beyond the call of duty and uphold the code with utmost scrutiny.

As previously mentioned there is a code among pirates. This code guides the choices of each scalawag that takes to open space in search of fame and fortune, but it isn't considered the be all end all of rule for the pirates. It's seen as a guideline in space, a general how to of pirating that if followed will lead to a long and successful career; however, on the planet of Ord Antalaha it stands as law. The code is handed out to residents and new inhabitants so that no being can claim ignorance. The majority of the code is about loyalty to the planet, doing what's best for one's fellow beings. A call to do what right for Ord Antalaha. It's through these tenets that one can discover the true nature of the planet. Pride, loyalty, hard-work and determination are the key characteristics valued by the council of 12.

Law on the planet is governed by the 12. Each of the main cities has been supplied with a militia of sorts where Pirates on leave from plundering and escort deployment report to help maintain the peace. These militias cover the main emergency response positions as well as code enforcement. It's not uncommon for pirates to simply take up the mantel of militia chief and focus their abilities on protecting the city they were assigned to. Of course the pirates what work directly for the 12 are considered government agents and receive pay plus bonuses based on their plunder, escort difficulties, and militia activity.

There are those who see the council of 12 as a blight upon the free pirates of the past. These crews operate on their own outside of government assistance. They don't receive pay unless they land a haul or freelance for a merchant. While they've distanced themselves from the hand of the 12 most comply within the code's regulations in order to avoid being hunted by their fellow pirates.

[beebox3=245px]

[/beebox3]

Economy

The economy of Ord Antalaha has varied over the years. With the relatively new establishment of the ORTT the pirate planet has flourished. The planet has become a Forex Crews of pirates have taken to working the Council of 12. Their jobs allow them to pirate and plunder in various pre-determined locations, take on escort missions for merchants working within the ORTT, and when they're on planet they can participate in the local Militia in order to receive supplemental education and extra coin. Pirates with coin in their pockets and nothing to spend it on leads to devastation. Luckily, Ord Antalaha has plenty of locations for their pirates to spend their coin.

Merchants on Ord Antalaha stand to gain when pirates come to ground. From fine dining to fine clothing little is far from grasp on Ord Antalaha. Extravagance is a necessity within the pirating populace. Many dress so flamboyantly, that their rank and captain can be determined from their clothing alone. This desire adds to the allure of becoming a merchant. Those that become successful tend to earn the respect and friendship of higher ranking Captains and some even consider members of the 12 their close friends.

Finally, the planet is home to a myriad of blue collar workers. The industrial, mining, and farming companies on Ord Antalaha service the pirates just as willingly as the merchants, but their duties don't stop there. The general populace of the planet also depend on these beings. Day to day goods are shipped all over tyhe planet and provide the lay beings with their supplies. These factories, mines, and farms also provide many with jobs and livelihoods. As a a whole the planet offers ample opportunity for any willing to work.
[beebox3=245px]

[/beebox3]

Technology

Ord Antalaha has adapted well to the technology available to them. Currently, they are considered high tech in the sense that they've met with the intergalactic standards required for space travel. They have several, though small, space ports that can accommodate a high number of mid to small sized ships. When it comes to star ships the planet is on par with any other, however when it comes to medical and broadcast technology they're behind the game.

The planet relies upon various satellites that are placed within their space in order to bounce transmissions to their ships. If out of range, a ship, won't receive the transmission. Medically, the planet has yet to fully incorporate bacta into their training and procedures. For that fact kelto hasn't been implemented either. The medical procedures available tend to be primitive in nature compared to planets like Chandrilla or Coreuscant. Broken bones are set and placed in casts, lacerations are sowed up with sutures and internal complications are tended to with surgery.

The industrial side of the planet is geared toward raw material processing. The city of Durum is the main processing center for these raw materials. Aside from the basic metals and various building components, the pirate planet is able to create their own blasters and small weaponry. There aren't any large factories on the planet, but several weapon shops and smaller workshops have made their fortunes working with the 12 in order to maintain and produce the weapons needed to supply the local militias. In all the technology on the planet is equal to or slightly above other outer rim planets.
__________

The intent of this planet is to add to the already diverse myriad of planets within the star wars universe. I've purposely created this planet (or expanded upon I should say) for the purpose of housing pirates, striking out on adventure, or relaxing the night away in a bar/casino. Ord Antalaha, has a decent history and gives a little life to the Outer Rim. This world is totally open to everyone, and anyone is welcome to create a character and have adventures, but honestly, I've really built the planet for my character to have a planet that feels like a home.

When I was creating the planet I stopped and thought about what made certain planets last timeline incredible, so after a short walk down nostalgia lane I choose to elaborate upon the planet's history and to take the time to showcase places that would be popular on the planet form a players perspective. I feel that it fits in nicely with the other more popular motifs of an outer rim planet. You know, the scruffy nerf herder kind. I've also taken the time to add in a culture that breaks down the planet's understanding of government, technology, and economy. I can only hope that the other content creators on the site enjoy this planet as much as I already have.

I'll also let it be known that I moved this planet from it's original grid point. According to Wookieepedia The grid point was L-8. I chose to move it to L-20. Literally straight down from where it was originally located. This move gives a little more freedom for piracy seeing as how the outer rim is out of the grasp of the republic, their previous location put them in the republic. In my opinion that would limit the amount of pirating that would actually be possible. I've also discussed this move with @Clayton and per our previous conversation he was ok with the move.

[beebox3=245px]

[/beebox3]

[/beebox3]

Intent

Gorgiosity factor off the charts! Another triumph of a planet profile! I find the idea of a civil pirate's paradise run by a code of honor extremely aesthetic and unique.

Gemma

[/beebox3]

Intent
