What is going to happen in your plot?

Whilst the fronts between the various warring factions of the fractured Galaxy may have gone cold, the needs to bolster alliances and favour with disenfranchised territories of space has not. Fuel and supplies are constantly in high demand, even when the core of the galactic activity is focused around routine patrols and small scale skirmishes are a high drain of precious resources.

Knowing this, the members of Star squadron will launch an offensive within the Mid Rim focusing on the sectors surrounding Al'doleem and Triffis, to remove an encumpant pirate lord from the region and secure a vital fuel store and processing facility.

What other players will be a part of this?

@Eisa Swan and open to others — this will be a Galactic Alliance Mission Pack, But will likely be centred around Star Squadron and it's members

Where are all the places (if more than one) that your plot will be taking place?

Main Location will be within the Mid Rim, involving Drukenwell, Triffis, Bannistar Station, Falleen and Paqwepor

Please provide a basic in-character timeline of what you expect to happen.

1. [ASK/DICE] "Handful of Hope" —Star Squadron is sent in a trio flight formation to patrol the Falleen Sector, where reports of pirate activity has caused the Falleen Government to reach out for assistance. The Galactic Alliance has responded by dispatching a flight from it's fighter squadron to make safe the area. During their patrol flight the assigned members of Star squadron will encounter a damaged bulk transport - Akin to the 03-K64 that is currently under attack by a band of pirates. The patrol will attempt to engage and make safe the area.

Mission Conditions - At the end of each round, the leading player will need to roll for the Damage being inflicted to the Freighter, and whether it survives - If it suffers two failed survive rolls then the ship is lost

2. [ASK/DICE] "Foothold" — The Assigned Members of Star Squadron will traverse through a canyon to launch a surprise attack on an Pirate fighter base, taking out all ground based and aerial defences that are stationed at the outpost before the Alliance drop ships can arrive to secure the base.

Mission Conditions - At the end of the first and second round, the leading player will need to roll for the squadron's detection by the opposing forces.

3. [ASK/DICE] "Desert Lightning" — The assigned members of Star Squadron will provide much needed air support in an escort mission for a ground based armoured transport convoy where the Druckenwell military forces are staging a counter offensive against the Pirate Lord's forces attempting to expand the territories they control. The cargo the convoy is carrying will be much needed Ion cannon weaponry required to hold back the heavy armoured vehicles that the warlord is using to assault the planet's forces with.

Mission Conditions - At the end of each round, the leading player will need to roll for the Damage being inflicted to the convoy, and whether it survives - If the convoy suffers two failed survive rolls then the mission is lost

4. [ASK/DICE] "Bunker Buster" — The assigned members of Star Squadron will carry out a specialised raid upon the pirate Lords munitions depots. For the duration of the mission one member of Star Squadron will forego the use of proton torpedo tube as thier craft will be fitted with a forward targetting array for the Alliances support frigate in orbit. The objective is for the designated pilot to provide targetting information for the Frigates turbo laser battery to destroy the bunkers.

Mission Conditions - At the end of each round, the designated targetting player will need to roll for a clear and successful targetting lock for the frigates turbo laser battery. Whilst the other pilots will have to roll for enemy fighters and ground defences that will be focusing on the targetting craft. Will require the successful destruction of 4 bunkers.

5. [ASK/SELF DM] "Demons of Razgriz" — This is the first of a two part mission to capture Bannistar Station that takes place on Triffis. This mission will involve the high speed aerial attack upon the Pirate Lord's base of operations. The assigned members of Star Squadron will have to carry out a surprise raid upon the base - a downed capital class ship that has been repurposed as an outpost. Initially taking out the defensive weapons batteries and long range turbo lasers, before taking out the shield generators that are being used to protect the Orbiting Station.

6. [ASK/SELF DM] "Long Day" — This is the Second part of a two part mission to capture Bannistar Station that takes place in orbit around Triffis. This mission will follow on from the completion of the previous Mission Demons of Razgriz, where upon the loss of the protective shielding and long range turbo laser installations, the rest Star Squadron will initiate an attack upon the Orbiting Station, working to take out and remove the pirate fighter support along with the heaver frigates

What do you or your character hope to achieve with this plot? What is the "end-game"?

The Members of Star Squadron, will upon successful completion of their objectives, secure and rid the region of a powerful pirate syndicate, wining the allegiance and favour of the local system to the Galactic Alliance's Cause, opening up access to a star ship fueling and refinery station, as well as strengthening the hold around the lesser used Jedi Outpost on Aldoleem.

Also looking to, if possible test a different mechanism for mission rewards. Were based on the fate of the Dice rolls, bonus tech may be awarded to the threads participants. Looking to use this as a possible enhancement to faction plots. Where to alleviate the "Grind" those taking part have a chance of getting a fixed tech upgrade for their stock Squadron issue Malla Class Fighters. Will be heavily caveated that if these threads (regardless if successful in tech payout or not) would not be eligible for faction reward submission so its not exploited as a tech farm

Do you need any involvement of canon NPCs or faction leaders to be DMed by a staff member? If so, please detail who/what and for what purpose.

The Main driver should be that the threads can be self DM'd and dice rolls for consequential flavour

I think the award of bonus tech based on dice rolls is a pretty significant adjustment to how tech is currently acquired so if you want to spit ball that with a tech staff I advise doing it with them. I think it would be better for there to posssibly be some star squadron exclusive missions or rewards that are handled by the faction leadership and not something done with dice rolls. In the past really well dice rolls (like getting multiple nat 100s) can make you win long term affects. My sith has a +5 on all rolls against pirates on top of her modifier for level when she works with Aadya because they each rolled two or three 100s in the same thread. I don't think it would be fair of me to allow the increased influx of tech that dramatically. Faction rewards are there for a reason. What I can say with your added difficulty is it makes a larger more valuable objective easier to approve so at least you have that. @Loco can comment on that if you need to hear his input.

For Rewards are you asking that all the above planets to become GA territory?
Drukenwell, Triffis, Bannistar Station, Falleen and Paqwepor (you didn't mention Al'doleem and Triffis in the locations section)

In all fairness can drop that aspect to the plot if it makes life easier? Just keeping it with the dice rolls for mission difficulty instead.

Thought it might have been a good opportunity to put forward and possibly play test an alternative play mechanic as part of the faction missions to see how it panned out, as part of the transition to the new rule-sets? .. Knowing that there is often the inherent risk that there can be the feeling that a member has to grind through countless missions to get an upgrade, figured the chance of 'Spinning the wheel' for a chance to get a bonus bit of tech, could be a good way to keep people involved and stay motivated to keep the plot going so it doesn't stagnate and have to pull people in to help finish it off. Though that does kinda sound like its going into loot box / gambling territory, forego this thread as counting towards faction rewards and you could win a shiney upgrade for your ship....

Though with the dice rolls, wasn't aware that it carried over. as was told that the boon from rolling a Nat 100 was only applicable for that thread and couldn't carry on over afterwards.

As for the territory, intent for the mission pack is to try and take this small cluster into the GA fold, Admittedly Al'doleem isn't part of the mission locations as from what i recall it is one of the Jedi's secret worlds, that as far as i'm aware hasn't been compromised or lost. Think it fell off the radar since Deviant's and Valen's departure from the board. But it was where Leah completed the training of the first five Jedi Padawans oohh too many moons ago! Rationale for this pack was to get the GA some major fuel sources as well as strengthen the support around the hidden enclave a little.

I dig the idea overall and I think it could be used at some point in possibly a site wide event. However I don't think it works for a single faction plot at this time.

The boon of getting nat 100s can extend beyond the immediate thread though most commonly it is used just to assist the thread further along. There are rare exceptions to every rule.

Right there you have selected 5 planets just visible on the map there. Normally two indie planets if in the same square would probably be worth 2-3 ask threads. Even with Eisa being a master I would say doing this would require 6 threads (the maximum limit). Normally it could be up to 9 if all self dm by a someone lower on the totem pole but since Eisa is a master, there's a limit to the number of threads in a single plot, I think adding on a 6th dice or self-dm thread is fair. Otherwise you could make all threads dice or have one of the threads DMed by someone who has a Sith or Mando character.

I blieve Al'doleem was still compromised when Arda got captured by the Sith and all the bases had to be evacuated a long while back. You could 'refound' the location but that would basically be returning to a known compromised safe house. Your choice.

No probs have snuck in another mission in, bunker buster and removed the bonus / gambling tech rewards. New one is another dice thread as think it would be best left to fate rather than it be too much of a walk in the park

As for Aldoleem, you might be right, can't really remember that far behind, know hoth and naboo were the big evacuations. But from all could remember it was only really Leahs padawans who were aware of the enclaves existence... But that was back in Jan / Feb time....

You can consider this approved after you remove the "bonus tech" mission rewards. The first paragraph is appropriate.
