The doors were always open. If you were down, low on money, had the skills, or just needed something consistent with hella-good health benefits, KES Security would keep you going. A private army with some of the best tech around, and a large level of independence with plausible deniability.
The Office was squeezed in amongst the busy city streets, it's sign always read open, and someone was always ready to accept applications. Occasionally people were contacted by the company personally; others simply walked in and signed up. The choice was yours.... mostly.
