The breaches in the palace walls did little to keep out the drifting snow and fringed winds that whipped about the poler cap, and though late afternoon, the sun had not risen in several months, as was normal for late winter; but still this was home. The walls that once stood tall, and shed reflections like a finely smoothed ice now seemed more or less to lean on each other with a precarious balance, burned and marred by heavy blaster fire, and lightsaber scars. This was once the palace of Matron, and Jedi Master Adena Qel-Droma... this was once the home of the mighty Sith Empress, and Darklordess, Viea. Not long after the Dark Lord turned up missing, both rival sith, and allied, as well as Jedi and republic converged on this location, in the hopes of finding the Sith who managed to capture the whole galaxy in a few short years, some looking for justice, others for retribution, and yet still those loyal on both sides who sought her protection and or redemption.

The battle was fierce, and many believe this was a major turning point in the great war...the Sith officially thrust into another civil war that still continued, and allowed the republic to regain it's footing and its chance to retake their capital world of coruscant. The battle had long ended, but the spirits of that event were left etched into the essence of the structure. They never found the Empress, and many believed that she was killed by the sith witch Sable, or perhaps the redeemed Jedi Kit Rendar, or young Bac and gotten to her first. Others claimed that the Empress had made a deal with Matron Lirreka of the Ebon-Claw and had been one of the first to flee known space.

She however knew where the former Empress was, and none of the stories were true, nor false. A bemused smile touched her lips as she blew into her hands to keep the circulation going before closing the last facet to a very special holocron. Indeed she knew where the Empress was, she knew where the former Jedi was...they both resided within her, places deep and not easily accessed. Viea, and Jedi Master Adena were specters of her past, slivers of her personality. They both had a role to play in the drama of the Force, and both had lived it as was foretold, even if she at times had not understood it.

Several floors below one could make out the sounds of plasma cutters, and other tools, now and then the shrills of a frustrated Danthiri Female, and the snide retorts of an old HK unit being repaired. Adena knew that the galaxy needed to recover, and knew she had no place in it, her time had ended on the great stage, however many acts still needed to play out. As it stood now the Sith were not a threat outside of small pockets scattered about, the Jedi were growing, and the balance as it was meant to be had been put back in place; however she knew a time would come that the scales would shift again, and she made sure that here, in this one location one could seek some guidance for the future, amongst the ruins of the past.

Adena gazed at the holocron for a moment with soft, icy eyes, the images of her life flashing before her eyes, Her days as an ancient Jedi, her deep sleep, her awakening into a Non human empire, militay conquests, her daughters Nikita, and Dalharil..to Lirreka, her rebirth as a modern Jedi, Dex, Kit, Kyra..her beloved Shara and there children; her mind recalled the pain and torment Viea inflicted upon the galaxy, the mind games Sable had played on her. Adena knew that for now her story had no more to write, though the tome of her life had not yet been closed.

" There is no light, there is no dark, there is no life or death, there is a balance in the great force, there is a steady stream, who's currents now flow calmly, now one must ask; do they ride that current and see where it leads? or do they travel on against it to learn why it came to be in the first place?" Her eyes shifted to a slender feminine figure silhouetted against a charred pillar. The Former Darklords lips eased into a neutral expression.

The woman seemed oblivious of the world around her as Adena had begun her work upon the holocron. Her thoughts had been driven elsewhere to the events that had brought her to this point. Emptiness filled her heart and her being and that emptiness she reflected to all who came into contact with her. All that was her life was now gone. She had no purpose any longer, or so she felt.

Haunted blue eyes raised as she felt the gaze and touch of her long time friend and mentor upon her. Much had happened to the both of them since their last parting and much still was kept secret. The Matron's very words seemed to linger on the air and work themselves into Kyra's mind as she was brought out of her own solitude and back into the real world. Arael had served her purpose and now was one with the Force. Still, Kyra could not hide the sadness in her heart, yet she knew there was a reason, a purpose, for her still. It was this and more that drew her back to the Matron, or was it the Matron that had drawn her back to the place where it had all began?

Pushing herself off the wall, Kyra stepped closer toward the center of the room and watched, saying nothing as Adena finished her work with the holocron. It was an effort she viewed as pointless, yet Adena had insisted upon it.

Adena's eyes shifted back to the crystalline object one last time before slipping it into a fine silk bag and hiding it beneath a old sealed chamber affixed to a statue depicting some ancient Jedi hero who's name was long forgotten to many.

" I know the reason behind this escapes you at the moment, your mind is quite full, and your spirit quite shaken...Via would say you were weak, while Adena would give you some lesson on the great force, and its tranquility." her words coming out with a hint of amusement as she stood and turned to the woman, a sympathetic, and teary eyes expression written upon her.
" I know it hurts, and It will.. we have done a great much, and though our roles in this universe are not over, we wont be needing to create the impacts we once did"
Adena's arms wrapped about her for a moment in a very supportive way, her cheek resting upon the others head

the tender moment between master and student, mother daughter, sisters, and many other forms was shattered every few moments by another HK retort, often muffled buy a ion blast and a faint muttering before the sound of construction continued

Kyra closed her eyes as she was wrapped in the arms of Adena and drew some strength from her presence. She knew some of what the woman had been through long before they had even met. Her experiences with Lirreka had opened her eyes to that facet of Adena's life. Drawing away from her and wiping a stray tear from her cheek as another explicit retort came from the HK unit, Kyra could not hold back a chuckle this time. Being here, in this place, offered a small amount of healing to her. It was here her journey as a Jedi had begun and here where she first met the HK. Yet, it had been the droid's pestering of young AJ that now came back to her. If AJ had lived to see HK restored, he would have probably given Adena an earful as to why the droid should have remained scrapped instead.

Collecting her thoughts again, she looked up into the eyes of the golden one and smiled faintly. "So you keep saying. I for one am ready to just fade into the past and let go. I know Tie would want nothing more than for that to happen. As long as I remain alive and seen, the more claims can be made for Adesia's claim to the House. You know this."

adena nodded and looked to the side for a moment as if collecting her thoughts before speeking softly, knowing Tie s sister Dalharil would be more than able to hear this from the level below.

" Adesia may have been the eldest, but has also in the past befor your blending had made many questionable choices that damaged most of the support from the other daughters and blade singers, and Tie though a half breed and one of the youngest has the support of most of the military, its removing Lirr that will be her biggest feat "

Adena's lightsaber came to bear , the snap hiss echoing in the upper chambers until the sound clashed with that of the wind creeping through a breach. Pausing in her words Adena took the blade to her hair, cutting it short to the jaw before turning off the blade, and adding the weapon to the open volt, which now contained most of her items, from the ivory dress, her golden armour, and holocron, and now her ancient double bladed weapon, and single bladed sith rose.

" when kit and bac found me, half mad with the games of the witch, and clad in the skinned arms of lirreka, being like a glove I almost wished they finished me, ended my book..but they did not, they were not Sith, nor Jedi... they were something different, though what I can not yet say..."

again she paused her tones becoming almost subdued, as if for once she had to struggle to find the answer to a feeling, something she had not been accustomed too.

" I did horrid things as Viea, I did wonders as a Jedi.. I killed my own wife when the delusions of her in my mind played out when Adamis found me first...I left my teachings here for a later era, and my lessons for another generation" Adena's head jerked in the direction of dal and hk.
" and for once" she continued, a genuine look of fear and confusion touching her.
" I dont know whats next, or what needs to be done?"

Kyra's brows furrowed in confusion as she heard these words come from the very one she had looked up to for so long. How could it be that she felt so lost now? It was through her that she had hoped she would find answers to questions. It was then that Kyra began to finally see the strain put upon Adena over the many years. She had been through more than Kyra could even begin to imagine.

Smiling faintly again, she crossed in front of her and began to walk around the room. "Were I one that held all the answers, I would love to say it. Once I would have reminded you of the Force and it's ability to lead, yet my belief in such things has dwindled over time. The past is past and cannot be rewritten. We screw up the galaxy just to leave it to our children to suffer the wrath that is to come from our deeds and reap what we've sown. Guidance and lessons go only so far." Stopping and turning around again to face Adena, she shrugged, "yet who's to know if the young still need leading. Always seek knowledge and further your understanding, I once taught to my padawans. Besides, you have a family still to attend to. Maybe your purpose is only with them now."

adena smiled as she watched Kyra, the soul she knew so well in the body of another she had known long before, and had seen both essences grow to become adults, now both as one. The concept was odd even to her at times, but years had passed sense this had happened, and she loved the woman dfor who she was none the less.

" you have listened to me all to well" she mused, as she began to dye the gold hair into a deeper auburn , pausing for a moment to study the crystal feather fused into her locks, and the other strand of white, belonging to the last known echani Jedi

" perhaps that is my place, but my children are not my own..nikita is but a ripple of anger upon the living force, Dal is a student of the unified, and the crafting..Tie has delusions of matronhood, and the twins...I have not felt them sense I destroyed the Jedi Lights main reactor..though I know they were not with Shara when I did this..."
again she paused and looked to kyra, a half grin coming to her lips as she spoke
" we were both bounty hunters for a time, two ex force users and crafters on the lamb..I bet we would make a wonderful team...perhaps even take on some of the more complex bounties for the Republic, atone abit for some of what we helped spawn...

She smirked at the prospect of turning back to the old ways. Getting out and getting her hands dirty (in a legal sort of way, of course) seemed very tempting. Looking back at the changed appearance of the Matron, she did not flench or seem amazed. Adena had always been a master of many arts.

"You tempt me with such an idea, Adena. I would almost say you were as bad as Raviel in that regard. You never could tell if he was planting an idea into your head or just pulling out what you already had hidden within. It's too bad he's with Lirreka once again. He and I had fun once."

Her thoughts then shifted to Barzai and the child they had born when she was in the body of Adesia. It was then that her own smile faded. She had abandoned the child and left it to be with Lirreka and Barzai, unable to look upon her and see anything but the monster of the one that had tried to ruin her whole life.

Catching herself quickly, she looked away and chuckled lightly. "Raviel at least could provide me with suits of which to hide my true form. Unfortunately, not all of us possess your gifts. Bounty hunting sounds promising at least, as long as we steer clear of Ranka and his students. The last time we crossed was not....pleasant."

"Amara....it's a pretty name," she replied as she looked over Adena's new look and tried to fit the name. "Not so sure I'm going to get used to you as a redhead, though," she joked.

"So what exactly do you have in mind? Oh, and don't even ask me to cut my hair. It's a part of me I can't so easily let go of."

" Amara" only laughed as she slipped on the viea mesh top and a corellian guard jacket, donning her old brown flight pants and boots " Well laying low for now is the key, wont be long until a Jedi, or Sith force comes looking here again for any trace of anything useful, which is why Daharil has offered to rebuild HK and stay here on onderon to keep look out.."

her attention went over the railing at the young half danthiri woman with the golden hair, all the skills of Adena and Lirreka, and the girl chose to ignore that power, and be herself, and separate from her parentage.

" perhaps the corporate sector...the Republic has no hold out there, and our war never really touched them"

"A new start and a new life," she said half to herself as if tasting the words to see if she liked them. "Easier said than done. The Jedi and Sith are known to stray at times. Even there eventually we will be found. Yet, the question I ask you now is this, can you let go of those you're leaving behind to do this?"

Kyra stepped up behind Adena's transformed self and looked down at Dal. "She's so young to be couped up here guarding a holocron you can't even be sure anyone will find. Besides, given time she may come around."

Kyra put a comforting hand upon "Amara"'s shoulder.

Amara placed a reciprocating hand upon Kyras and offered a quick glance, her lips parted in a genuine smile long hidden over the past few years
" Dal is like me, I know she will go off and do what she feels must...She may have left the teachings of the blade sisters, and the Jedi...but her heart is not grounded to one thing but rather all things..tiera is the dusk, and dalharil is the dawn."

Amara again looked back at the younger woman, some said to be very similar to her Human parent..aside from her smaller frame, and ears one could actually pass her off as a human from some exotic world

" and who would I really be leaving behind?" she asked turning her back to look upon the other
" Kit has turned back and become part of some new little force cult like mentality, Shara is gone, as is most of the Jedi I knew and cared about..and most done in by viea's hands"
her expression soured abit after this as she cast her eyes to the floor as if fighting back the visions of a past life remembered.
as fort he Sith I knew " she added " do really remember themn, to be honest most of them had not touched a refreasher unit their entire life"

Kit....it had been ages since she had last seen him. It was not until she had met up again with Adena that she had learned of his fate. It seemed as if he had moved on as well. The last comment uttered by Adena, though, seemed to draw a chuckle out of her.

"Now you understand why I left the Sith and decided to become the Phoenix once. Come. Let us leave this place and the past. Reminiscing is doing neither of us any good. Besides, I could use your input on a new me. What do you think of Brienne?"

Amara laughs at kyra's comment and smiles " well I got stuck with all of them on a hot arid world, why do you think I became so cranky in the first place?"
again she took one last look at Dalharil, the woman who had payed no attention to them before finally stood and turned, looking up at them both with deep ice blue eyes, a mixed smile on her face, pride, and sorrow, but also a reassurance. She uttered not a word only smiled and watched.

" yes bri, we should indeed leave, this winter storm is killing my skin, we should swing by mon cal and see if they may need some help tracking poachers out in that warm tropic sun" she could not help but laugh and wink at the comment, something not known for being a type of climate Adena OR Viea was fond of. Amara held out her hand and waited for Bri's response to it, hinting at the walk to the junk hauler landed nicely in what was once Adena's private chamber

faintly in the background noise a very familiar voice perked up again.
" Mild Annoyance: Are you ever going to finish reinstalling the supports onto my main chassy or am I going to have to remove your squishy arm and finish the work myself ? "

Bri chuckled at HK's response and looked back at Amara with a girlish charm.

"Hmm. I could definately use some sun. Some new weapons too besides these glowy sticks," she said hinting at her former lightsaber.

She knew she would have to part with it, yet doing so was difficult to think of. It had been this very weapon that she had carried for years. The former one, the one handed down her family and given to her by the Matron, had perished in the same molten lava that ended Adesia's life. No, it was back to the blasters and of course a whip. It had always been her favorite weapon by far.

"I was thinking of going platinum blonde too...would be a nice change of pace now wouldn't it?" she chuckled at the joke referring back to her Danthiri days. It would be rather fitting for her to dye her own tresses platinum. Surely, no one would dare recognize her outfitted as such either. One thing was for sure, though, she would have to change her whole look.

Reaching a slender hand out and taking Amara's in stride, she followed her. A great new adventure was opening before them without the stresses of their former lives.
