DESCRIPTION

The Onager-Class Star Destroyer was originally developed after the end of the Clone Wars as a dedicated siege breaker, as Sepratist holdouts and rebellious Core Worlds were becoming extremely expensive in both Manpower and Credits to break. Although it took time by the beginning of the major period of the galactic civil war in 5BBY, the Onager-Class was in full production and beginning to make its presence known upon the battlefield.

The main armamanet of the ship and its defining feature was the kyber crystal-powered superweapon. However unlike the vastly more powerful superlasers which would be installed upon future projects like the Death Star, Starkiller Base, Xyston-Class Star Destroyers and the like the Onager was built to cause destruction to surface instillations without causing to much damage to surrounding areas and the planet itself. The weapons were also effective in ship to ship combat, reportingly cracking a number of Mon Calamari ships with one shot.

However due to the rare materials required for the ships main weapon the Onager was not made in vast numbers and was kept out of some of the major engagements in the Galactic Civil War. After the fall of the Empire and the Star Destroyer was used by Imperial Remnants as a way to keep strong hold of there remaining worlds.

Parts of the ships design was folded into the much larger and more powerful Mandator IV-Class Siege Dreadnought, though a few Onagers survived within smaller First Order Fleets. However after the Final Order's fall the ships fell quickly, with only a few ever produced they became sought after prizes by warlords looking to take advantage of the power vacuum and within a few years less than a handful remained.

Fast forward to the present day, as the Sith Order began operations to increase the power and presence of the Sith war machine, advanced warships were needed for the coming battles. The Onager, being an advanced ship even for its time was seen as an ideal candidate to become a mainstay of the Sith Fleet. Its much smaller size and cost compared to the Mandator IV making a preferred candidate for the early Sith Navy.

The ship has subsequently gone into production both within the secretive Exegol Shipyards but also shipyards across Sith Space allowing for a greater number of the ships to be built without exposing the secret of Exegol.

LEGALITY
Restricted. Onager-Class Star Destroyer are classified as capital ships under Galactic law, and possess heavy weapons, making them difficult or impossible for civilians and even small factions to own. To date, however, this has been a non-issue, as they are exclusively built for use by the Sith Order.

INTENT
To move a Cannon ship over onto the sight and create the first of many ships for the Exegol shipyards to produce for the Sith Order's Navy. It also adds a small Superweapon to the sites Fannon without it being to overpowered.

RESTRICTIONS
Onager-Class Star Destroyer are large capital ships with heavy weapons, and capital ships cannot be owned or operated by individual characters. They are exclusive to the Sith Order faction.
