NAR SHADDAA, Y’TOUB SYSTEM GROUND LEVEL, UNDERCITY | AN ABANDONED SHIPYARD |
The Vosadii Kajidic was long known for it's stranglehold over the Hutt Cartel, and as its power grew steadily over the years, they had managed nearly to a man to create a chain of event's that culminated in the rise of Borga Vosadii Pronda to the head of the Cartel. As Granee Lorda, Borga oversaw one of the Cartel greatest resurgence in its power, as he successfully halted the Imperial gains that had long plagued the reign of Vero and ushered in a new age of prosperity and growth that saw increased revenue, as well as startling and innovative changes to the Cartel and it's leadership - even going as much as to place a human!!! on the Throne of one of the Council's seat. However these changes were not as well received as he would have liked, and as his power and control over the Cartel grew - so did his enemies. The Kormtha Kajidic in particular was incensed that a puny little human was elevated to lead them, and blindly refused to accept his leadership until after a clever and brilliant stratagem by the notorious Jack Tamblyn kept them in line. In addition, the criminal organization's that dotted the galaxy raised their head as they saw the troubles that plagued the Cartel - the Black Sun stepped up its campaign of reclamation, the Exchange started to solidify its stranglehold over the slave trade in Imperial Space, the GenoHaradan even reared their head in an attempt to steer the fate of several planets outside Imperial control and even the Bounty Hunters Guild made some moves to secure its own freedom. All this was just the catalyst for something greater, and with the disappearance and startling silence that was coming from the office of the great Granee Lorda, those elements were coming together to form a dastardly plot to undermine and divide the once mighty Cartel and one Hutt stood out among the others as the prime target. Arok Vosadii Pronda. As the vanished heir to the Vosadii Kajidic, as well as Borga's own son, Arok was a high profile target for the destabilization and the division that was wanted by the shadowy figure that sat inside the abandoned shipyard. Already his minions had started reclaiming the old shipyards that dotted the surface of the moon-world, and had rebuilt and repurposed a few for his own needs - leaving the crumbling outside as a cunning facade to conceal their endeavors. Inside the broken down shipyard, the rooms were shockingly modern with the best technology that money could buy, and some that couldn't be furnishing the sprawling complex and turning it into one of the most effective intelligence gathering and central planing hub on the moon. Rows of computer-banks lined entire sections, cameras jutted around from nearly every conceivable hole capturing everything and sending its signals to a complex A.I brain tasked solely with monitoring and defending the complex from wandering eyes. a massive room was equipped as a command and control room where numerous sentients rushed around purposefully, obeying whatever commands they had been issued with alacrity and zeal. Inside a private room that was lit by a menacing and slightly off putting red glow the figure looked through the Intel gathered on Arok and his activities and began to formulate a plan. Plans would need to be adjusted, time-tables switched, personnel moved about and the right equipment requisitioned if this operation was going to be pulled off without a hitch. And although the shadow's hid it, the figure grinned with pleasure as he imagined the future without the vile presence of Arok the Hutt. But there was also one other issue - who was going to do the deed. It wouldn't do for someone of their own to be questioned in the small chance that the mission might fail and thus give everything away. They would need an independent Hunter, someone who's motivations were all about the job and not about any form of ideology, someone who would be strong enough to complete the assignment, someone who wouldn't break under questioning. The figure looked through the information packages given to him by his aide and sifted through profiles from the various organizatoins in the galaxy. There were top level Bounty Hunters from the Guild, incredibly lethal assassin's from the GenoHaradan, Hunter-Trackers from Kushar, criminal masterminds from Black Sun and even a few talented Bounty Hunters from the Cartel itself. The figure dismissed those first, as he didn't want word of the impending strike reaching the wrong ears at the wrong time, and proceeded to winnow down the candidates. Opening up an pilfered and heavily bribed for ISB case file he looked at the contents and settled down to read. Dreedo Intan was a Rodian terrorist who had caused the deaths of over 100 people in a blast. A demolitions expert and a skilled marksman Dreedo was known to have sucessfully assassinated over 6 targets in addition to successfully arranging for more then two dozen terrorist attacks. Moving on to the next file, the figure tapped a few buttons and a spinning Holographic image snapped into being, slowly transforming into a perfect replica and the splitting image of a towering Kushari, Kholvar Varaxes. According to his NATORI file, as well the ISB file that they had on him, Kholvar was a skilled tracker, hunter and assassin. He has a perfect record, never failing a contract; was a member of the team that had created so much mayhem and destruction on Zonju V as well as coming in 3rd place in the Grand Hunt; and most imperssive was the bringing in of Cartel Champios - Tylas Zel, alive and unharmed picking up a nice bargain in the meantime with the prize money from not only the Grand Hunt but also from his successful career as a Bounty Hunter. The shadowy figure paused, and picked up the giant Kushari's dossier once more. Here seemed to be a likely candidate, and one who was surely skilled and powerful enough to complete the assignment. He tossed the other dossier's onto his desk for further reading and then sent a cyptic message to a certain individual who would know how to contact the massive Cat. Pleased with his decision as well as the way things were going, he settled down to wait for a reply to his message. |
