Once again here.

Nikka Toren held many good memories here. Of times with her fellow Clanmates, only one of whom she had any sort of contact with. She had learned to pick herself up here... to let go of fear here. She had learned to heal here...

And how to mourn here.

She mourned for the deaths of those that died in the Alliance... or those that might as well be dead. But such feelings were always let go, or buried. It hurt sometimes to think about just how much the Alliance had truly lost, since the tribunal on Al'doleem. She'd had so much hope, such faith in an Order that was barely beginning to grow wings.

And then, there was the loss of Vu'thari and his Padawan, and some of their order that followed. Other Masters, the other Five, fell or vanished. Now there was Luy... and Arda Breaux. But it was Luy who first found her on Bothawui, Luy who trained her and treated her kindly. He was someone she looked up to... but when she needed him most, he wasn't there.

When she recovered in the medbay from the combat with a Sith, he wasn't there to counsel her. When she lost a man who was like a brother to her, he wasn't there to ease her despair. He wasn't there when she faced the assault of many twisted emotions of the Dark Side from the Corrupted Nexus on Ruusan, and he wasn't there when Hoth was destroyed from above, nor the memorial that followed.

No.

Not her Master.

Since Ruusan, she had been training to keep her mind clear. Meditating to keep her soul calm. She knew they had to speak eventually, but she never knew how. The words never came. But now, an aura of calm, poise settled over her, the mantle of a Jedi. She would stand here, and learn the words until he'd arrive. This was no preplanned speech, no grand promise. This was... necessity.

So she stood, tall and poised, listening to the surf roll in once more. Her Sight could not appreciate the sunset, but it could appreciate the smell of brine, the roar of the ocean. She recalled when Fey made the comparison of the Force to the ocean... and how apt that truly was. It gave life and ripped it away, it was both gentle and savage. Dark and Light. Shallow and deep...

She knew her summons would be answered. She needed him.

...She just hoped he wasn't too late.
