Weechee felt utterly bereft of having been landed on a snowy world like Ando Prime. There were no trees, no rivers, no fish, nothing at all that reminded him of his home on the forest moon of Endor. The best he had now, as he waited for his this Master character to show up, was a standing lamp of some kind that sported a broad shade. About five feet in height, it was taller than the small Ewok and that was good, he figured, since it would give him a better vantage point from which to survey his surroundings.

Without further ado the young Ewok scaled the vertical shaft of the lamp an wriggled his body up and over the large bell of the shade then promptly perched atop the lamp and stared about him...the sparsely furnished room looked much the same to Weechee, even from his new position atop the lamp, and he was not impressed. However, he was content to stay where he was so he managed to amused himself by tearing shreds off the lampshade and weaving them into a new belt for himself.

His master was totally forgotten as he engrossed himself in this new task.

Zara had entered the room and was now watching her new acolyte. He was so cute. She was hard and menacing, but she had a soft spot for Ewoks. Damn things always got to her warm, fuzzy side.

"You, what is your name and why do you want to serve the Bogan?"

She got right to the point. Pleasantries were for Jedi and she was not a Jedi.

Weechee was so engrossed in shredding the lampshade that he didn't immediatly register his master's presence. Eventually though, it dawned on him that he was being watched and not only watched, but addressed. It took him another few moments to register and process what exactly she had asked. His response was a series of angry sounding nonsense--what passed for language among the Ewoks.

[I want to serve the bogan,] he said through translation...his droid mercifully editing out the less-than-eloquent phrasing he had initially used. [Because the way of the Jedi is too constricting. I am an Ewok, forever engaged in play...and as everyone knows, to play is to be alive and to be alive means to be open to the whole array of emotions and that means the Dark Side...]

Zara listened to the droid explain what the Ewok had sad and nodded. His logic made sense, but it could also be deadly. The Bogan were a serious group and while they did enjoy times of play, they were killers.

"You know that we are serious here? We do not tolerate immaturity or childish play"

She did not know much about his race, but she was going to make the rules clear.

Weechee cast the Dark Lady a very, very unimpressed glance then turned back to his lampshade.

[I am Ewok,] he said while shredding the shreds even further. [We are a juvenile species, as you must know. While that may be, I am an apprentice of the Bogan. A Dark Jedi acolyte. I may not be typical, but, teach me and I will learn. By nature I hunt, I use my anger, fear, doubt, to better myself, to survive. I do not think you could ask for more than that in an untrained apprentice, Master.]

Zara smiled. She couldn't ask for more. He was the perfect student.

"Please stop shredding my lampshades then and I shall teach you!"

Her voice was stern when she spoke to him.

"Will you act like an adult long enough to learn the Bogans ways?"
