So I want to make a custom version of the Darksaber that'll basically just be a replica with a curved-hilt (of which changes combat with the weapon completely), but I'm not sure if I can just get away with saying "yep! Here's my custom Darksaber!" >.< http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Darksaber

Pretty sure this is going to be a plain nope. The Darksaber is a one of a kind artifact.

The Darksaber has come up a bit in profiles, and like Arc says it hasn't ever been approved.

Purifying kyber crystals to make the blades white is accepted as far as I know. Based on what I read in Phantom's profile of her character Kara.

Though I understand that's strictly a light side ability and your character is probably more dark (I'm guessing.).

If you are dead set on having it, you can RP with it in the Diverse section, but you can't include it in the "cannon" The Story section.

The Diverse section is also where you can RP The Clone Wars era, provided you find someone to do it with you.

Alternatively, a vibro-blade with a black finish wouldn't be a problem at all I don't think.

What I'm trying to say is that it's a "replica" of sorts and is simply a lightsaber that takes heavy influence from it, mainly the blade that's thin and curved to a point. Combined with a curved-hilt the weapon would be ideal for quick slashes, high-speed combat, as well as finesse. I'm really only worried about the fact that the style of the blade (which is the reason behind the namesake of the Darksaber) has such a heavy resemblance to it. All in all, it's pure inspiration rather than the desire to own the Darksaber itself.

If you are looking for a cool looking weapon, then a curved hilted Vibrosword is your best bet, It just wont retract into the hilt is all, so you'd need a sheath for it.

Well, unless your character is trained and proficient with the ability Dread and has a dread saber (Wich as i've had the luck of seeing someone with a dread saber on SWTOR RP's) But those things are not a easy thing to construct ICly, as it needs to be forged from a dreadbeast of sorts, but the cores of those blades are usualy black while the aura around it, depends on the users alliignnment in the force (I've seen purple and green auras so far).
