Howdy.

I'm looking for RP's to do with people, involving, well.... Anything not violent. I don't want to hunt down bandits or fight over pointless gridsquares. I've done violent RP's for years, but another moment of it seems unbearable.

In specific, I'm looking for RP's about:
- Friendships
- Romance
- Slice of Life

Things like that. If anyone is interested, please let me know. I'd like to RP with K'tel and Vera (Once I get her back).

I am interested in these kinds of RPs as well (all three of them). Not afraid to go beyond factions btw.

No. This TL is all about violence and death and competitiveness.

You can kill people, or you can GTFO.

There is just a little bit of misdirection in this thread. I RP like this just by default, and I'm fucking thrilled this has been posted, so I'll offer some advice:

Non-PvP/No-death absolutely does not mean no violence. You can write a highly emotive, captivating scripted thread which includes violence or action. The focus is just on the atmosphere and the cinematic scene, without any competition. Violence and death can be used to tell a story, but they should be used very sparingly to allow for more effect and suspense. Use it too much and it becomes cheesy and boring.

Social threads or threads with no action do not have to be nice or rosy. Some of my most intense RPs were just social scenes, and many, many genres of film and literature feature highly intense, dramatic or frightening plots which have no fighting. Court dramas, tragedies, horror and thriller, just to name a few. \

Any kind of these threads can be very relaxing if you focus on the atmosphere, ambiance and emotion. Make it a sensory experience.

Lastly, just because this is STAR WARS, does not mean you have to conform to the genre of the original material. Just use the setting as a base, from there on, the floor is yours. We are writing fanfiction, not canon material. Explore every kind of genre and theme you want, the only rule is that you keep it within the PG-13 rating.

Hope that inspired ya.

Also, don't be afraid to reserve a slot for a character who doesn't fight at all. I think you'll find your storytelling opportunities will absolutely expand. I've had characters in the past who were dancers and performers, concubines and nobles - they can be anything you like really.

Hell, my upcoming Sith is a sadistic alchemist and a business tycoon >.> and my current Sith is a scholar and an intellectual. Neither of them can fight.

Is slapping someone considered violent? Marf is on point that completely removing any sort of violence/combat can remove potential tensions between characters, which can make slice of life RPs feel more meaningful. In the most theoretical sense, slapping a person is the same kind of combat action as punching someone or shooting someone, just with much less risk of death and maiming involved.

The term "slice of life" is a far better descriptor of what you are going for here: Star Wars is not "in the future, there's only war," it is "a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away." Star Wars' setting is supposed to be analogous to our world, just with all the sci-fi and fantasy stuff involved. Just RP it naturally.

When I say "Non-Violent" I don't mean "No violence whatsoever."

I mean the subject is not centered around fighting. I don't want to RP dogfights or fighting bandits or things like that. The dullness of it is driving me mad. Slice of life is a much better descriptor for it, as that is what I am aiming for.

On a side note, I am currently unable to play the character I wish to use until November 1st. So I doubt I'll be doing any major RP's until then.

@Jabonicus how about you look though the peoples characters that have shown interest in this and maybe pair us together with another person. Than it would be up to the two people to start from there and see what happens with their characters like either they fall in love, become friends or rivals and so on? Since you wont have the character which you wish to RP with until late.
