Nolan had been wandering the streets of Nar Shaddaa for quite a while, getting no leads on where the Jedi could be. He figured that he could check one more cantina before going to search somewhere else. He might as well find a Jedi to talk to before deciding if he wanted to join them or not. But what he found when he entered the cantina was not something he expected to hear about at all. He slowly entered, pulling his hood over his head, and couldn't help but overhear a conversation about Coruscant.

Apparently, there was an intense battle happening on Coruscant, causing a lot of destruction to the city. Not even the undercity was spared. When he overheard this news, it felt like time stopped for a moment as Nolan tried to process what was going on. All he could think about was his home being destroyed and his parents possibly being killed in the chaos. He never thought he cared about it much, but for some reason, the thought made him feel unbearably lonely. If his parents were dead, he really had no connections with anyone in the galaxy. There was no where he could go if something happened.

He turned back around and exited the cantina, beginning to make his way back to his ship, but he stopped before making it too far. What did he plan on doing? If he went back to Coruscant, he'd just be another name to add to the casualties. He could only grow more frustrated with himself as he stood there. As he tried to feel indifferent about the whole situation, he returned to the cantina. He avoided making eye contact with anyone as he sat down at the bar, waving the bartender over.

"I'll have the strongest thing you got,"
He muttered.

((This is open to anyone, especially jedi c: ))

Bailey walked in after landing her ship out front. She took in her surroundings, a few people sitting at tables, music playing faintly in the background. She walked up to the bar and sat two chairs over from Nolan. She looked around again, noticing the dull mood. She turned to the bartender who was drying off some glasses.
"Rough night huh? What's got everybody so down?" she asked.

Upon receiving his drink, Nolan picked it up without really thinking about it. He never thought that he would have to worry about Coruscant, but now that something had happened, he was in a bit of a shock. And he was powerless to do anything about it. He took a sip of the drink he ordered, but immediately put it back down, wrinkling his nose. That was way too bitter, but at least it snapped him out of his helpless thinking. It was then that he finally noticed the woman who had just sat down at the bar, clueless just like Nolan was a few moments ago.

"Coruscant is under attack," Nolan responded, keeping a straight face as well as he could. He didn't want anyone to notice that he actually cared about the state of Coruscant. "At least...that's what I've heard from some smugglers. Best to avoid the area."

"Oh..." Was all Bailey could muster at the moment. She turned her head to the cantina doors, debating to go back to her ship or not. "Is the attack spreading? Or is it contained in one area?.."

Nolan followed her gaze to the door, thinking that something caught her eye, but didn't see anything. He quirked an eyebrow and looked back at her as she asked her question. If it had spread this far, he probably would have known about it without having to hear about it first. He certainly hoped that it wasn't spreading, or he'd be in the kind of trouble he couldn't talk himself out of.

"I doubt it," He replied with a wave of his hand. "You'll probably be fine as long as you stay away. Where were you thinking of heading to?"

"Don't know. I was closing some deals tonight. I've been here for about 3 weeks now, was gonna leave tomorrow mornin'. But now i don't know." She continued to look out the doorway. Calculating the different possibilities. She took a sip of her drink.
"

Nolan looked toward the doorway again once she did. He didn't see anything interesting out there, so he wondered why she kept looking. Maybe she didn't really want to talk, but that wouldn't have made much sense, at least not in his mind. He crossed his arms and tilted his head in thought for a moment. Since Coruscant had become a warzone, it was a risk to go near it, but there were plenty of other places to strike up deals, weren't there?

"What kinds of deals?" He asked, mostly out of curiosity. "Maybe I can help you out." Not that he wanted to help out of the kindness of his heart. Perhaps she would feel indebted to him.
