People will miss The Clone Wars, but they'll miss it a lot less once they see TIE fighters and X-wings and Stormtroopers on their TV every week.

This.

Honestly, I really have not gotten into the Clone Wars series at all. All I've seen is the film. But I've always loved the Galactic Civil War more then the Clone Wars.

I'll miss The Clone Wars, I had really gotten to know and like a lot of the clones and hell, even Anakin was interesting to watch! They actually gave him some character it felt like. (And don't even get me going on Obi-Wan because hnngg. Best character ever in any medium, really.)

I am looking forward to Rebels, though. I'm just all giddy about it. And my husband is now freaking out over this picture
rebels-concept1_lg.jpg
Because it's a Dreadnaught Class Heavy Cruiser and he's literally spazzing out about it. Like, he's short of breath and bouncing in his seat going on about Z-95's and Y-Wings and all sorts of things and I'm just looking forward to watching it WITH him.

I'll miss Clone Wars, though. I wanted to know what happened with Ahsoka, but if the Rebels is going to talk about the Empire hunting down the last of the Jedi, maybe she'll be there!

During the Rebels first look panel earlier today, Dave Filoni (EP of Rebels, supervising director of The Clone Wars) was asked if any of the characters from The Clone Wars would have their stories continue in Rebels. He smiled when he was trying to think of what to say, and went with being coy by saying that he likes all of the character he's created very much.

tl;dr - he didn't say it, but Ahsoka will be back.

Well shit.

Here is hoping she meets her end at Vader's hand. Would make me chuckle.

she still could, or for all we know she could take on a psudo leading roll come the sequels as well * shrugs* too early to tell - clone wars actually had some heart wrenchingly good deaths - though most noticeably in my head is zero - the first clone - but it goes to show the team is not afraid to bring in tragedy and drama like that so you never know.

Zero issues with Satine dying. You KNEW it had to happen. The Mandos couldn't be a bunch of tree-hugging pacifists! I was pretty pissed that they brought Maul back, ruining THAT comic for me...bastards...but he kills people, so it's OK, I guess.

Now...as for the Wraith Squadron death (not spoiling it), yeah...I cried too.

And as to Ahsoka...if she comes back and DOESN'T DIE by Vader's hand, I'm throwing s***.

Ahsoka is one of my personal favourite characters. I would love to see her as a main character again later on.

:CGape god ahsoka was almost as annoying as anakin >~> and btw the return of Maul was the worst thing ever in the series.... I could see his brother seeking revenge for his death and all, but bringing back maul? come on....

Bitch-ass punks. Everybody knows that even Death Watch is better than a bunch of pussyfests.

If by "THAT comic," do you mean the Infinities one where he fights Obi-Wan on Tatooine? If so, I wouldn't be surprised if they incorporated that (non-canon, fyi) comic into Rebels somehow.

I gotta admit, I'll be curious to see how many loose ends from TCW are tied up in Rebels. I'm a huge fan of Asajj Ventress, and her fate was left fairly open ended even in the pre-TCW canon, and it'd be interesting to see whether she has a part left to play.

The three big looses ends are:

  • Ahsoka's fate
  • Ventress' fate
  • Maul's fate
The Infinities comic provides a good story opportunity for Maul. He could be a threat to baby Luke that Obi-Wan has to defend against. Ahsoka will have something to do with Vader most likely. Ventress is the wildcard. She could be some sort of Jedi hunter but I have no idea how they'd end her.
