Affiliation: Kuat Systems Engineering

Intent: A commonly seen courier vessel used by governments, corporations, or wealthy individuals.

Model: Nimbus-class courier

Dimensions: Length: 25 meters, Width: 15 meters, Height: 6.5 meters
Class: Courier

Crew: 1 Pilot

Armament: 2x light laser cannons

Equipment: Standard Sensor Array, Standard Life Support System, Civilian Navigation Module, HoloNet Transceiver, Standard Communications Suite, Hypermatter Reactor, Civilian Shield Generators

Speed: 70 MGLT

Hyperdrive Rating: 2

Complement: 5 metric tons of cargo

Maneuverability: The Nimbus is fast, though suffers instability in tight turns or complex maneuvers.

Description: The Nimbus is a popular courier vessel. Formerly a prototype strike bomber developed for military use, instability in tight turns and some common combat maneuvers led to contracts being canceled. Rather than let the money spent on development go to waste, the armament was toned down and the bomb bay was reworked to serve as a small cargo bay. It retains the hardened hull of a bomber, affording it a useful degree of short-term toughness. Now it's an excellent ship for the quick delivery of sensitive information, materials, or persons. Given the lack of long-range communication infrastructure in the Outer Rim, this is a massively popular courier for entities operating in that region of space. A handful of wealthy individuals have further reworked the ship to serve as a small luxury yacht.

Me 2. Could i convert the cargo bay in to accommodation ( how many could fit in comfort) and add a slot for a astro mech droid. Prefect for mr Jason Fleming.

That is actually very realistic. In fact it is to slow. Seeing how the courier aircraft used in WW2 was a striped down mosquito bomber that could fly higher and faster than all most every thing. They could and did cross Nazi occupied europ with zero escort and just used speed and hight to avoide any interception.

Four things.

1. The Mosquito would fit into the "Starfighter"-analog here whereas this thing nearly has the size and capacity of a smuggling freighter.
2. The Mosquito's speed was dramatically cut down whenever you added anything to it. Bombs, guns, a pack of gum.
3. Couriers, in Star Wars, are slower than your average 100 MGLT fighter. Sure, it can be faster than a true Light Freighter, but not by much.
4. It's armed enough that an increase in speed would make it a near-viable starfighter that's 100% larger than an X-Wing.

I would not call 4000lb load out small.

2 She could out run alot of aircraft even when carry a full bomb load.

3/4 this is millume falcon speed. With out the fire power.

1. Still smaller than 11,023 lbs. We use metric around here for some raisin, mang.
2. This still can outrun a lot of starfighters due to its hyperdrive.
3. As I have had to remind other people in other threads, the Falcon was barely functioning due to all of its insane upgrades and was built hundreds (if not thousands) of years after this. Even then, this thing has 70 MGLT and the Falcon has 75.

And 5 tons is still smaller than 50.

I would hope so, I mean it is a courier ship. They meant to use speed to avoid combat. I know we use metric, I just remember the mosquitos bomb load in pounds. it being a round number and all that.

The falcon was all so larger, more agile and better armed
