On the Miraluka homeworld, Nihlus was born Kuroth Senn. Kuroth’s mother had been trained by a successor to the old Jedi Order and after his death, went into hiding on Alpheridies. There she met who would become her husband and together they birthed their son. As a child of both a Jedi and a member of the Miraluka’s Luka Sene, Kuroth was gifted in the force from the start. At an early age, his dreams often brought visions of things to come in the near future. As a Jedi, his mother knew the likelihood of a force sensitive turning to the Dark Side if not given proper training, and so it began early on.

Like any young padawan, Kuroth was trained in the ways of the Jedi. He constructed his own lightsaber and learned to wield it, he explored his mind’s eye through the force, but most importantly he was taught to exhibit inner peace. Though at times, this almost seemed a futile attempt, as even the youth could feel something was wrong. His mind was in turmoil, plagued with anxiety. The anxiety led to fear and anger, either causing him to shut down or lash out when things went wrong. For a time he was able to suppress much of his anger, but small things going wrong could break the dam and unleash a wave of rage. Still his parents remained determined and continued to train him in hopes that they could help him tame his demons.

When Kuroth was a young teen, his mother told him that the Jedi Order had begun its reformation and that she wished for them to join. It was hard, but they said their goodbyes to his father and their homeworld and set off for Dantooine to become true Jedi. There, his training resumed with additional guidance from the other Jedi.

The nightly visions turned into nightmares. Chaos unfolded before his mind’s eye each night. Violence, hatred, destruction; he witnessed and felt it all. Each morning he awoke feeling drained as the nightmares took their toll upon his emotions. They terrified him, but he knew how to keep it suppressed and hide it from his peers and his elders, lest he scare them too and put himself in a predicament. It didn’t feel right telling them. Not when the visions were still so blurred and unfocused. Maybe he was simply misunderstanding things.

With their move to join the other Jedi on Jedha came something Kuroth never knew he had; a thirst for knowledge. Seeing that the galaxy was much larger than he could have ever dreamed gave him this newfound curiosity. He wanted to know things. He wanted to understand everything. His time with the Jedi was filled with little more than questions and burying his nose in anything that could teach him more about the force. But this quest for knowledge was often a perilous journey. His studying turned to experimentation and eventually to practical application.

It wasn’t long before his constant questions, studies, and experiments lead him to discover the dark side of the force. Its allure was strong on him as it promised him all the strength and knowledge he could ever want. Some would say he was doomed from the start with the anxiety and rage that plagued him from an early age. As he began to flirt with the dark side, his nightmares became more and more clear. The flashes of carnage began to form into a vivid scene of violence as he watched a Sith murdering a group of Jedi without remorse. Eventually the dreams continued to focus until he recognized the Sith as himself.

Kuroth soon expressed his disagreement with the Jedi on their views on the force and, much to the dismay of his mother, chose to leave. She chose to follow him and he didn’t make it far before they had their confrontation. She pleaded with her son to return and he rejected her and her ways, the anger that had always been within him coming up to the surface now. Their argument ended with him taking her life, an act which completed Kuroth’s fall to the dark side. The act was also witnessed by a sith who went by the name of Kalanda who promptly provided and outstretched hand to the Sith Empire.

On that day, Kuroth Senn died and Nihlus was born. With the minor resources entry to the Sith order provided him, Nihlus acquired a small two man crew, two droids, and a freighter to set up an archaeology company, both to bring in some money and to control the discovery of artifacts and holocrons in the galaxy and further his knowledge and understanding of the force.

Nihlus’ mind lies somewhere in a strange and abstract place between reality and imagination.

On one hand, he considers himself a realist and exhibits such behavior. Logic and reason dominate his decision-making process, leading to cold and calculated tactics. Things like morality, law, and the feelings of those around him matter little when a task is laid before him to accomplish. The ends always justify the means in his mind. Everyone and everything is expendable; a pawn to be used to reach his goals. This isn’t to say that he himself isn’t an emotional individual. On the contrary, he is prone to bouts of rage that can come out of seemingly nowhere. Sometimes this anger can be directed towards a useful task such as defeating his opponent but when there is no enemy before him, he’s bound to lash out at those around him and either attack allies or destroy property.

On the other hand, Nihlus is a dreamer. His mind is always wandering, exploring new possibilities and questioning everything around him. His thoughts never stop, constantly exploring things he has just learned and new ways to apply them. In a way, he can be a very abstract thinker and come to conclusions and make connections others might not see, even after they’ve been explained. This can lead him to some interesting innovations and applications, but it can also serve to cloud his mind and lead him away from the truth. He has been known to mentally leave conversations to explore the cosmos of his mind, only to return without a clue as to anything that’s happened around him.

Interaction with him can be a struggle. If he’s not off day dreaming, he can still be quite difficult as he can either give short, often non-verbal responses or suddenly go off on a tangent that’s hard for even those closest to him to follow. When dealing with him more directly, he’s just as cold as he is as a tactician. He’ll interrupt people when he thinks he’s understood their point or he has a counterpoint to make, and he speaks very bluntly, which makes him come off very rude and callous. In truth, he hates social interaction and requires a great deal of alone time to recharge, making him highly irritable when not given the opportunity.

While not a cannon character, please change the characters name. The second thing is the Jedi do not have a base on Dantooine. Everything else looks pretty good. Tag me when the changes are complete.

Why do i have to change the name? It's Nihlus from Mass Effect, not Nihilus from Star wars. I also have a character approved from a previous timeline that was named Nihlus as well.

After speaking with the Admins, the name can remain Nihlus. Jedha is likely your best bet for a Jedi Temple

I’m fine with the name, your character is not trying to be Darth Nihulus or anything. And the write-ups should say that the GA base but it was for rebels in general and the GA write-up does have it blown up before the events we started roleplaying in) The Jedi being revealed to exist again was after that. Ald’deem (probably spelled wrong on mobile) is where a potential new Jedi would have went for training (before it was attacked by Sith) and Jedha afterwards. Hope this clears things up.
