Elliot Banks was a member of the Empress's Counsel, some of the most esteemed lawyers in the Imperial Republica, and by far the most qualified on Kuat. He was not, however, on Kuat presently. A fact that for Saorise was most useful in the present time, because she couldn't allow him to be. Not anytime soon, anyhow.

No he was still on Balmorra, having looked after some case regarding military impropriety, not often prosecuted in the Empire, and hardly ever won. Though Banks had done so, despite it all. that was why he was so sought after, why he was being brought in to take down Saorise after the allegations.

Too bad his ship was delayed. Or soon would be, anyhow.

Saorise and Saric were to make sure of it, play fate, as it were. Which shouldn't be so hard for a pair as accomplished as they were. Much harder missions had been fought and won, why not this one?

Well, for one Saorise was battling Saric's own moral uprightness. While Saorise held ideals outside of many of her colleagues, the good of the Empire, it possibility above all (and that meant her being around to maintain that possibility). Saric held far more respect for the institutions individually. Something Saorise, in her present situation, was rather opposed to right now,

"Flight 293 to Kuati Space, now where are we looking. Gate 3. That's where we need to be" she looked over to Saric, the two scanning the flgiht lists at Sobrik Spaceport,

"My officers tell me Banks' family has connections to the Hutt Cartel's if you'd believe it. Wouldn't surprise me if that was how he got so many of his cases" that part wasn't a lie, though that family was from long, long ago. Supposition with no gaurantee. Either way, today they were only sabotaging a flight. Nothing quite so drastic.

Just a delay, to help Saorise Dalaigh.

Saric was uneasy. He was not so naive as not to notice that Saorise had a vested interest in the prosecutor not being in Kuat at the appointed time.

He looked sidelong at his companion. "I'm sure he does," he said with a certain knowing sarcasm in his voice. "I can see why in your situation you wouldn't want to raise these concerns through the," he paused as if choosing his next word, "proper channels."

"I'm doing this as a favour to you, because I know you serve the Republic, as you have helped me. After this, we are even."

So it seemed Saric Noms was catching on. She couldn't help that, and at least it let her know the one that stood with her today was no fool, though truly she knew as much anyhow,

"More than fair I believe" she said as she turned her neck to her ally. Saorise could only offer him a nod, they'd done eachother a few turns now, such partnerships didn't always last. He didn't know too much about her anyhow, hopefully. And depending on the way the galaxy went they could easily find themselves on the same side once again,

"Anyhow. If we're both here today, let's keep focused then" with a gesture she noted the side exit out onto the tarmac, cutting through to the landing bay for Banks' flight. That was all they needed to focus on.

Striding forward, Saorise moved across to the door with confidence, trying to look every bit like she was meant to be there even through the sticky air of the gate. Only she wasn't. And, it seemed, the spaceports guards knew it too,

"Well, hello there" came the voice of a knobbly Toydarian security guard, one that hovered across from his little processing terminal as they made their way for the door "What do we have here then?" the voice tumbling out surprisingly musically, a rhythm in his words. They weren't getting any further this way, not unless one of them had a damn clever plan up their sleeve.

A Toydarian in a crowded room. That ruled out pushing through by force, risking being seen, and overbearing his will with a mind trick: Saric knew their reputation. That left old fashioned trickery.

"You have two agents of Her Imperial Majesty on urgent business. We can only apologise for not observing the usual niceties, but the intelligence only arose half an hour ago. We need to inspect that flight. I'm sure I don't need to remind you of the penalties for standing in the way of official Imperial business. Or the rewards for loyalty."

He threw in the last phrase as he knew that the species he was dealing with here had a particular delectation for money.

(Dice)

Surely this little trooper wasn't a stickler for the rules. All she could hope for was that he'd do his duty for Empress and Empire and let them pass without worry.

Too bad he wasn't like that at all.

No, instead it seemed the pair had lucked out, found probably the only damn security member in here that just loved protocol. Because oh, oh boy, were they about to here it,

"No, so, let me just go through the intelligence requests now, I'm not seeing any in the past day, no police report, no nothing. If oyu could provide me with either that or a written form showing..." the little Toydarian droned on before them. So much so Saorise began to daze a little. That was until the Toydarian waved over another guard to look over his charts and figures,

"I assure you this is unnecessary-"

"I assure you it is not. We've gotta do what we gotta do Miss, we'll find out your request properly or not at all" they said, joined by a human co-worker, who also looked to the sheets.

Things had only gotten harder, it seemed.

"Look. As I say, we only received the Intel half an hour ago. We won't be on the sheets. If you can take me to your office, I will show you our authorisation."

The senior Human looked uneasy for a moment, but then settled herself. "One of you only."

She led Saric up a back staircase. At the top, there was a small room with a terminal. Saric could see in through a transparisteel window, with a microphone relay to speak to the person inside. Unfortunately, he had been left on the outside.

His eyes scanned the back wall, only a matter of meters behind the window in the cramped office cubicle.

There! A loose bracket. He did not want to draw attention to himself by gesturing overtly and so he had to choose something simple. With his eyes only, he focused hard on the screw while the attendant booted up the terminal.

Pop! The screw came loose. The shelf it supported gave way. Books and manuals scattered all over the floor. The attendant turned.

This was Saric's cue. He slipped round to the side door. Igniting his lightsaber, he couldn't keep entirely incognito. He burnt through the lock and the door swung open. He gave a quick punch to the back of the attendant's head, knocking her out.

With that he got to work. He frisked he for her pass. Finding it, he took out his spoofer. While it downloaded the profile, he found something to tie up the woman. She had done nothing other than her job.

Everything sorted, he came back to the Toydarian waiting with Saorise.

"All sorted. Your colleague gave me this to get through with my partner." He waved it over the reader and the light went green.

He only hoped that the mess in the control room was still undiscovered.

Sometimes it was a joy to watch her allies work, times like these specifically. Saorise merely sat back as Saric managed a clever little knock and grab in the control room, one that kept their timeline on track before the ship took off and they missed their opportunity. It paid to have friends sometimes.

And for now it seemed they were safe, the Toydarian merely grunted and looked back to his papers, seemingly rather letting this out of his mind than bothering to investigate it further, just not worth it. And good thing too, because it made their job all the easier.

Balmorra's climate could get sticky in the warmer months, just as it was now. The instant she stepped out onto the tarmac and felt the heat on her face, she could feel the sweat draw to the surface of her skin, threatening to run down and ruin whatever good mood she'd managed to retain. Trying times, truly. But happily, a time where opportunities remained.

The passenger liner was parked in the centre of a vertical landing bay, refueling ongoing and workman runnnig about the place who, it seemed, did not yet have the faintest idea of their purpose or their recent actions, to busy buried in luggage or work to think about anything else. And that made it all too easy,

"And here we are. It's rear engines, that's the ones to hit, will keep the fellas busy fixing it for a good long while" she smiled as they came beneath the large rear engines "Shall we?" she smirked at Saric. She did enjoy it when a plan came together.
