Hey Guys!

I have a big announcement for you guys! We in the leadership have heard some interest for a non-PvP based rank, similar to Darth - though it will be ICly a rank lower in prestige and respect. We're doing this only because Darth is supposed to be extremely coveted, due to its limited number and the fact that you have to PvP to get it. This rank will be comparable to that of a Jedi Master. This rank is specifically targeted to our members who put a lot of IC and OOC time into the faction, and put activity and work into the faction, but prefer to not PvP. So without further ado, I may as well tell you the name, which is Sith Immortal. These characters will embody the sorcery/intellectual route of the Sith, and I think it will suit our non-PvP oriented members well! This rank will also be available to members of the SBZ, under the name Sacred Immortal.

In addition, we reworked the base rank of "Sith" and added classes to it, those classes being Warrior, Sorcerer, and Inquisitor. These classes are more of quick way to identify what your character is best at, and isn't meant to be restricting. If you would like a Sorcerer oriented character that is good at combat? Sure. A warrior that can be sneaky too? Go for it. Its just more of a baseline of how to orient your characters, with Warriors being the fighters, Sorcerers being the academics, and Inquisitors being the spies/assassins. It will also provide a path for these Sith to follow, with Sorcerers in line to become Immortals, Warriors in line to become Darths, and Inquisitors have a bit more leeway.

Finally, I would like to welcome our first 2 Sith Immortals to their new titles, @Gamov & @Marf with Mila & Vereshen respectively.

Congrats you two.

I like to thank you, the FL, for making this big leap. However my character doesn't fall into the new ranks under the base Sith, but I guess learning sorcery isn't to far fetched from being a Mentalist. Once again, thank you for this.

Inquisitor could also be a viable option if you're not particularly fond of sorceress. Your character could use her superior intellect and mind shattering abilities to weed out spies or break prisoners, or even manipulate people from other worlds to join the Brotherhood's cause.

Just an idea, anyway. : )

That is a very grand suggestion. But I know way to much about sith sorcery to turn my back on her now. she was and will always be my first love. Speaking of, is Necromancy banned here?

It's funny to me that Mila is an Immortal. She's such a terrible Sith. And if you thought her ego was bad before... hoo boy. lolol

All in all though, this is a refreshing change of pace. Nicely done.

Omg just when I was getting sick of writing a book.

Thankyou so much for this, it really means a lot. Very happy with these new changes as well.
Glad to see a positive response to this! We talked it over a lot as leadership about how to best incorporate the changes! Congrats to you two!

While I'm all for the new Immortal rank, I don't like the Sith classes. Feels too much like a video game. Having your character belong to a certain class isn't a strong requirement, is it?

Perhaps instead of calling them "classes" you can put an emphasis on referring to them as specializations or focus. There is absolutely no harm in having the title of "sorcerer" to go along with someone who studies the dark side of the force deeply, but I can see an issue with the title falling under an archetype. And if I'm not mistaken, inquisitor is associated with someone adept at extracting information so that title should belong to professional interrogators or spies while actual assassins should have their own title as well. If anything, these titles should also be something someone should strive to achieve since the idea of an acolyte being referred to as a "sorcerer" or "inquisitor" is a little silly. You could adopt the prefix "apprentice sorcerer/sorceress" or "apprentice inquisitor" for that.

Also if you don't mind me adding, while Sith Immortal sounds cool, part of me has a difficult time envisioning someone being announced "Sith Immortal Jobob." It could be an idea in which Sorcerers strive to become, but it might not have the same effect as "Darth" or "Lord." Might I sugggest an idea in its place?

I like "High Lord." The title was used in the expanded universe by the Lost Tribes of the Sith by members of the Council of Lords. A High Lord was typically in charge of overseeing the Sith Temple while the Grand Lord was the Overlord of the entire Tribe. I think it could be a good fit for this timeline as High Lord can still be perceived as beneath Darth yet above a Sith Lord. Those who are familiar with the title from the expanded universe will be familiar with their role in the Sith Temple, which gives the High Lord some reputation in the PvE department.

Hope you don't mind me adding my two cents and I hope I didn't overstep. You can take my suggestions or leave it but I really do love the direction this timeline is going for both Jedi and Sith. These are wonderful ideas :)

Not a member of Sith leadership here (just prefacing for safety).

I wouldn't think a class would be a requirement for a character. If anything, this really only makes official what people have been doing since he start of the timeline. People have been referring to their Sith as Warrior/Sorcerer/Assassin/Inquisitor since day one.

Personally, I don't look on it really as a class system, but rather as specializations akin to the way a soldier can be trained for a certain role.

I know nothing about video games and never understood the connection at first, but classes can be a social structure and can build the world and tell a story. Ham up the themes and aesthetic in your characters should you choose a special rank, make a Sorcerer who is a robe-wearing snob who hates fighting or a warrior who is a Vader-esque cyborg monster.

You don't need to choose one of course, but that's just an example of how they can be great fun and give loads of writing opportunities.
