Endor - Just Outside Village
The Jedi had already made initial contact with the Ewok village closest to their new outpost, but they had not progressed so far. If they were going to have any lasting presence here, they needed to engage in a friendly or at least hospitable alliance with the Ewoks. They were not the largest threat, but Soren wanted no harm to come to the mostly peaceful race due to some misunderstanding.
Their chieftain had agreed to meet with them, saying he had some opportunity for them to prove themselves as worthy allies. Soren didn't exactly know what this "test" would be, but if it paved the way to peaceful relations then it was more than worth the trip out here.
Soren wore simple clothes, forgoing the traditional garb of the Jedi. His lightsaber hung from his hip, though he rarely used it these days. There had been a time when all Jedi had went well out of their to keep from using their weapon but those times were long past, the Galaxy not affording them the luxury of pacifists.
A small group of Jedi had accompanied him today. It would be a good opportunity to learn about diplomacy with another culture. The Ewoks were a primitive people, that could lead some to believe they were stupid, but Soren knew differently. While they certainly viewed the world around them differently, they were capable people.
"We are almost there," he said as he entered into a clearing, the tall trees that housed the village just on the other side. Even now he could hear the clicks and calls of the Ewoks as they announced the Jedi's arrival. "They may challenge us. It is important that we do not harm these people. We are the outsiders here and have to prove ourselves trustworthy." he said as he continued.
"Have any last-minute questions?" he asked the group of Jedi.
