Lilith was back on Shit Shaddaa unfortunately. Even though she wasn't here as The Rain, part of her wanted to be so she could march around masked pissing off hutts, or ideally blowing them up by mistake again. It would've been better than where she was— in one of the alleyways that smelled particularly piss-y, but that quickly stopped being her focus when she felt several Force signatures very close. And all of them reeked of danger. They did not sense Jedi at all. It didn't worry her but it did peak her interest... and then as she turned her head everything made sense.

Walking down one of the alleyways was none other than that woman The Eternal put a target on. Lilith would've been one of the nefarious signatures too, if she hadn't been tipped off by her masters very odd behavior when the order came out.

Lilith knew that she should just walk away, and not give into her desire to be super obnoxious and nosy about her masters business. Digging around in it could end badly for her, but if she protected the woman and was nosy, he couldn't get that mad, right? It was tempting and her time to decide it was very quickly running out.

So instead of walking away, she grabbed her black hilted lightsaber for safety and stepped out into the open, loudly but almost flippantly saying, "I don't think Talak wants you dead or captured or whatever." It was probably the same thing considering who had put the target on her. "I mean, you might not even know a Talak but just to be safe I'm going to assume you do."

At this point Lilith paused, tapping her bottom lip with her index finger. "Maybe it's some other ranger or maid hooker or something, but either way I'd prefer that you don't keep walking down that way," she said, pointing towards the direction the woman was originally going.

Trys was back on Nar Shaddaa to follow up on a new lead for a slaving ring. She wasn’t in her uniform, and she actually opted instead to wear a tank top that revealed her full sleeved tattoos, along with some form fitting pants and boots. She had to pass through this alley to get to an informant that she hoped would give her a lead. The piss smell was so strong that she opted to light a cigarra and smoke from it to fill the air around her with a different scent.

She was about to take another step when she heard a woman’s voice call out to her. Hearing the name Talak caused her to perk up, but she didn’t reveal this externally. The woman would also quickly discover that Trys was entirely too stubborn and bullheaded to easily read with the Force without actively delving into her mind.

Trys turned back to look at the woman, cigarra lazily hanging from the corner of her lips. Her hands were in her pockets, and she took in sight of the woman. She looked petite - like Trys could accidentally break her if she went over to shake her hand. The Ranger inhaled from the cigarra and exhaled a cloud of smoke.

“And why shouldn’t I keep walking? Is it because I might stumble into another cross dressing Hutt?” Trys was still mentally scarred from that only a few minutes prior at the last cantina. She drew in from the cigarra again, stepping closer towards the woman who looked more out of place here than she did - Trys actually looked like a common street thug with her choice of attire and copious tattoos.

“You got a better suggestion for where I could be going?” A grin tugged at her lips, and it was clear Trys was amused by this.

The woman's reaction was slightly... unexpected due to her line of work, but it seemed to match her current appearance. It also made Lilith feel a little more confident about her assumption since the woman hadn't denied knowing Talak. It wasn't like Lilith was coming off as that serious either, but things were very close to being very serious. "Not as bad, but more dangerous," she answered with a raised eyebrow when the cross dressing hutt was brought up.

The Force tugged at Lilith's mind right then, someone was going to show up and very, very soon. "Please just play along and don't shoot me," Lilith added in a hushed voice. Almost as if on cue, a man jumped down from the roof of a building in front of the pair and the snap-hiss of a blade echoed off the nearby walls of the alleyway. He held a ignited red saber and pointed at the ranger.

But Lilith fell back on her training, igniting her own red saber and inserting herself into the scenario as quickly as possible. She didn't want Trys to talk and possibly tip off the other Sith, and for some reason she couldn't sense the woman's emotions so the risk was there, "I found her first," Lilith hissed. The other man answered as he closed into Trys, "Then I'll allow you to cut her legs off," he laughed. It was probably a way to let Lilith know that he wasn't going to let her claim the prize.

Lilith shrugged in response trying to keep her cool, running forward as the man closed in on Trys from the other side. If Trys didn't choose to do something to interrupt Lilith, as soon as Lilith's blade came close to Try's she'd turn it off. Depending on if or how Trys moved, she might still feel the heat of the blade, but not to any point that it'd hurt her. When the blade made it to the other side of Try's Lilith would reignite it so that it'd slice through the male attacker instead.

If everything went to plan the petite Sith would stare dispassionately as the two parts of the body fell to the cold, dirty cement. If she was to cull the cult with her master, perhaps one less to deal with would make their job easier in the long run. "We need to run...like now," she said if Trys didn't shoot her after seeing the red blade. The other Sith would sense the death of their comrade and come faster, and Lilith didn't know if she could take on or trick multiple.

Trys stared at the woman suspiciously as she was told to ‘play along’. Why was everyone on Nar Shaddaa always so strange? She didn’t make any sudden movements, but her hand began to creep towards the stun gun she had on her. Within moments, a figure hopped down and ignited a saber. Trys already had her blaster drawn by then, cursing under her breath as she was in direct presence of a red saber.

She said nothing, quickly taking in the situation and noting the exchange between the woman and the man. The woman ignited her own blade and Trys’ eyes widened. She was one of them! Trys ducked to the side and rolled on the ground, leveling and firing a shot at the man that appeared to be the more aggressive of the two. Trys didn’t miss that the woman swept past her, purposely switching her blade off and igniting it to go through the man. He had been stunned from the waist down, and his body fell in two parts, the legs awkwardly twitching and convulsing grotesquely.

Trys was already up on her feet with her blaster pointed at the woman, glaring at her as she suggested running, “You’re shady as kriff too, so hell no,” She spat out, looking back to see if anyone else was coming. Lilith would quickly learn that Trys was obnoxiously stubborn and difficult to a fault.

Instead, she kept her eye on the woman as she shuffled towards the dead body. Trys crouched down and went into full detective mode, rifling through his belongings to pull out a comlink and datapad. She wanted to collect as much intel on these criminals as possible, even if it meant putting herself at risk. Trys had no real authority on the planet so she couldn’t exactly arrest the woman, so she didn’t even bother doing anything about her.

Lilith sighed as the woman leveled her gun at her after. To be far, Lilith wouldn't trust herself in Trys shoes either, but that didn't make it any less frustrating. "Ugh mas..." she paused, catching herself just in time—that habit was hard to break. "Talak will be pissed if I screw this up now," she said teetering between annoyance and anger at this point. Lilith wasn't exactly known to have a lot of patience, and she'd revealed herself to someone who may have some sort of connection to her master, enough that he'd want to protect her, so she couldn't walk away now. Not without the risk of disappointing her master, and in her current broken psyche she couldn't handle that.

"Look there's more coming and I don't... I don't know if I can handle them myself," she admitted, but she'd once again acted quickly instead of waiting around. Wrapping the Force around herself, Lilith increased both her speed and strength just when Trys started to split her attention between her and rifling through the dead Sith.

Lilith turned off her saber but quickly took some steps to the side in an attempt to miss getting burned by the stun gun, then tried to get semi-behind Trys with her increased speed, just enough that she could wrap her arms under the woman's arms. If successful, she'd jump and bring Tys with her to the roof. It'd look absolutely ridiculous considering how small Lilith was, but Lilith was convinced they needed to get out of that alleyway as fast as possible. The other Sith were on their way towards them already, though this time from the ground.

Lilith would drop Trys rather roughly on purpose, and spit out an irritated, "Stun me" just as she landed, opening out her arms and prepping herself. "Then you can run knowing I can't immediately follow." If this meant the other two Sith would catch up to Lilith first, so be it. She could not, would not disappoint her master by not protecting his interests. Being shot gave her a story at least, one she might have a chance to use in her favor. Maybe.

Trys was focused on rifling through the man’s belongings - collecting a datapad and comlink. She was fishing around for his lightsaber when the woman abruptly moved. Her reflexes were far superior to the Ranger’s and she could only stand up abruptly as a bolt missed the woman.

“Hey!” Trys yelped out as the woman seemingly crossed into her personal space to jump up to the roof. She fell on the roof roughly, but she ducked and rolled to reorient herself. Trys was back on her feet and she leveled and fired directly at the woman even as she began to tell her to shoot. The impact would cause the woman to convulse and freeze up in place, stunned from excruciating pain. Ideally this caused her to drop her saber as well.

Trys would walk over and quickly snatch up the saber and keep her gun focused on the woman, “Start kriffing talking,” She barked angrily, “Who the hell are you and why do you keep referencing Talak?” Was this his idea of sending someone to tail her? Trys and Talak had left on the worst terms possible, and the door had been closed on anything that could have built there. Why, then, was someone affiliated with him coming after her?

The woman hadn’t actually harmed Trys, and she would return the favor. However, Trys was suspicious by nature, and she much preferred a red saber terrorist to be subdued while she addressed them. She kept glancing over her shoulder to see if anyone else was coming, “Why haven’t you tried to kill me yet?” She asked bluntly as she looked back at the woman and out of morbid curiosity.

The pain seared through Lilith's body, causing her to freeze up and drop her saber but it was... sort of the plan. Get shot, let the woman run and hopefully trick the others if they happened to find her on this rooftop. However, she hated her plan as the pain went through her, regretting it instantly even though it was not nearly as bad as what she had suffered before.

The woman demanded answers right away, keeping the stun gun leveled on Lilith. That didn't mean Lilith managed to answer right away, she needed to recover from the first time she'd been stunned before. Once she did, she breathed in and tried to give some answers, "I'm... an acquaintance of his," she answered. It wasn't exactly a lie, not that this woman would be able to sense it, but maybe see through it. "I think he might care about you, so it's..." she trailed off, trying to pick better words than 'it's my duty to protect you' since that wasn't very acquaintance-y, "So I thought it'd be the right thing to protect you." Also not a lie.

When Trys asked why Lilith hadn't killed her yet, Lilith blinked with confusion. "Why would I try to kill you?" Did she misjudge this situation entirely? Even if she did, there was no reason for her to kill Trys unless her master commanded it. Perhaps this woman just thought all Sith did was murder people, which wasn't exactly offbase but not entirely true when it came to Lilith.

Trys looked visibly angrier when she mentioned about Talak caring. She highly doubted that was the case anymore, but she didn’t want to broach the topic here with a stranger. Trys lowered her gun, scowling again, “I don’t need kriffing babysitting, lady,” She grumbled to the woman, “Your….acquaintance probably needs you more than I do,” Trys said, feeling a pang of guilt about how she and Talak had parted. She knew he was in an emotionally dark place and probably needed some way to move on.

She had to think on her feet about the woman’s question, and her face remained thankfully passive, “I got intel that your overlord or whatever wanted my ass on a platter,” Trys shrugged, “Plus, I guessed as much from what you and uhh half man back down there were yelling at each other,” They made her sound like some sort of merchandise. She wasn’t entirely sure she could trust this woman, but there was something to be said for her not trying to harm Trys.

After a moment, Trys sighed and rolled the saber hilt back to the woman. She walked over to the opposite end of the roof, looking down. How the hell was she supposed to get back down now? Trys turned back to look at the woman, “Won’t you get in trouble for slicing that guy in half? He was one of your own. You’re probably just as kriffed as I am right now.”

"You don't look like a baby to me, but you also don't look like you could handle three of those guys," she said bluntly, avoiding "my people" since some of them weren't anymore. Not with the current plans in motion. Maybe this woman could've handled all three, actually, but it wasn't worth the risk to Lilith, or missing out on snooping.

But she was right. The Eternal wanted Trys, yet Lilith didn't see him as her overlord. Truth be told, she never had. Talak had brought her into the cult, Talak had trained her and Talak had never abandoned her even when she'd angered and disappointed him. Talak was her overlord. But she shrugged after a moment, trying to give an answer but not really, "Well, he's Talak's overlord too and you're still standing here." She wasn't actually sure if the two connected since, but Talak had rushed off quickly once the order went out.

Lilith was surprised when the woman gave her lightsaber back. It rolled to her feet and she picked it up with a few very confused blinks, turning to stare at the woman. Even if Lilith was here to save her... the smartest move would be to keep the weapon and hightail it out once her curiosity was satisfied. Why rearm someone who could be lying?

But she tried to push the confusion aside because this benefited her, "Not really. We...they aren't suppose to kill each other but..." Lilith shrugged.

She was going to remind Trys she should run again, but instead turned to face the side of the roof they had come up from, sensing deep seething anger and hatred. "Kriff," Lilith said under her breath just as two Sith leaped onto the roof. One male, one female and they both seemed to be on the very edge from the death. Perhaps the man was a friend of theirs.

Lilith ignited her saber again, stepping in front of Trys, putting herself between the two Sith and her despite not being confident at all about her chances. "Kark off," Lilith growled, falling back on her training in deception. "Your friend already tried to kill me because I got her first, and look how that ended for him."

Trys shrugged when the woman said she couldn’t take them on, “Exactly why I gave your weapon back,” She knew when she was outclassed - multiple Force users were far beyond her capabilities as a simple Ranger. The girl was smaller than her and even she could make things difficult for Trys by herself.

She leveled her gun again as the two jumped onto the roof, and they were visibly irritated at seeing Rain step in between. The man glared at her and ignited his saber, “You’re acting against his wishes,” He said, venom dripping from his tone, “That woman needs to be taken in and you’re getting in the way.”

The female also raised her saber. Meanwhile, Trys decided to capitalize on the opportunity and take a half step to the side and fire a bolt. The bolt hit the female, and she shrieked and dropped to the ground. The male reacted at once, unleashing a Force blast directly at Trys to send her flying back.

Trys sailed through the air and over the edge of the opposite end of the roof, but she grasped onto a pipe that ran along the building. She was barely hanging on and trying to hoist herself up, still reeling from having the wind knocked out of her.

Meanwhile, the male turned his attention to Rain, rushing towards her with his blade to swing through her body. It was clear he was fueled by rage, and his eyes were glimmering golden. The female was still on the ground stunned, and it would be moments before she recovered.

As soon as Lilith saw Trys bolt land, she knew that the other Sith would drop her saber, just as Lilith did before. So Lilith raised up her blade to prep a counter, but reached out with the Force to capitalized on Trys shot, grabbing the other female Sith's blade, aiming it and igniting it through the woman in one swift movement. It didn't have far to go, so it didn't take long.

But when the male Sith saw Lilith's split attention, he decided to stop and capitalized on an opportunity himself. He sent a blast of lighting at an unprotected part of Lilith's body, pouring the rage and pain of his two friends deaths into her lower right leg. It caused her to scream as loud as she could and fall forward onto the hard roof from the force of it.

He stopped for a second to hiss, "Your death will be slow and painful." before sending another wave of lightning her way. Though the reprieve was short and she was still reeling from the pain, Lilith knew this was life and death so she forced herself to hold up her saber to block the second onslaught. But the male Sith kept moving forward with a twisted, toothy smile on his face. Lilith was hurt, on the ground and the closer he got to her the lower her chances to survive got, and he knew it.

"Trys, if you can hear me, karking find a way to get away,"
she spat out, gritting her teeth. If she was going to die from stupidly revealing herself and putting herself in danger, she didn't want to ALSO fail to protect the woman. Fortunately, she hadn't sensed the woman's death, but unfortunately she could be unconscious from falling. Please don't be unconscious, Lilith thought to herself.

Trys could hear all the commotion going on, and she finally managed to start pulling herself back onto the roof. That was when she felt the woman’s voice pierce into her mind to speak to her. The action caused a surge of anger, and she was suddenly thankful that Talak had never done anything like that to her. Trys pushed the thought aside for now, clearly hearing the crisis going on up above.

The Ranger had the advantage of temporarily being forgotten, and the male Sith probably thought she was dead. Trys kept a low profile as she climbed back onto the roof, completely ignoring the warning to run. She was stubborn, and that wasn’t going to change anytime soon.

The male kept the woman from earlier subdued. He switched tactics to coil the Force around Rain’s neck to choke her while she was down. He was pouring all his hate and energy into it, gritting his teeth as the darkness pulsated through him.

Trys used this opportunity to level and fire her gun once more. The bolt him square in the chest, and Trys followed it up by drawing out her vibroblade. Instead of bothering to close the distance, she hurled it directly at the man directly after shooting him.

The man had fallen to his knees from the bolt, and the blade shot inches past Rain’s face and directly through his throat. The man’s face was less than a foot away from Rain’s, his eyes wide as he began to sputter and gurgle, blooding pouring out from his wounds.

Trys had made her way up to stand next to Rain by then, pressing a boot against the man as she grabbed a hold of her blade’s hilt. She pulled her blade out as the man tilted backwards and fell off the edge of the roof. Trys shook her head, the fear she felt from earlier completely replaced with the demeanor she often carried while on the job.

She turned to the woman from earlier, extending a hand down to her, “Come on, let’s both get out of here.”

Lilith was caught completely off guard when the male Sith was suddenly shot. Seconds later a blade staked through his throat and as he spat and gurgled some of his blood hit Lilith. She didn't look away however, in case this was some sort of mind trick or... Force knows what, even if she hadn't sensed anything. But then she saw Trys pulling out the blade, then extending her hand.

"You... came back," Lilith said without thinking. A stranger had saved her...knowing what she was? It was hard to process all the emotions that came along with it, but Lilith took Trys hand after a second. She winced pulling herself up, but she could probably still walk, or hobble anyway.

The young Sith looked away from Trys after a second in thought. "That was stupid. You should have ran. You should have stunned me, taken my weapon and left me to die. How could you know I wouldn't just...turn on you or something after? Never trust...'red blades'" It was hard not to say Sith, but the galaxy at large still did not know their name. Lilith realized she had needed some trust from Trys in order to protect her, but this was above and beyond. It also felt like Lilith didn't deserve this kindness either. All she'd done was protect her masters interests...

After a second she sighed. "As you said, there's an order out for your head so you need to be more careful." After the impromptu lecture towards a woman who'd just skewered a Sith, Lilith finally, slowly turned back to her but still couldn't look the woman in the eyes, "But... thank you for saving me."

Trys stared blankly at the woman as she began to lecture her on safety and trust. She wasn’t even halfway through before the Ranger cut in, “I don’t need a lecture from an anemic 12 year old,” She said bluntly, “If you wanted to kill me, you’d have done it already. Also, I’m stuck on this roof so can’t exactly space magic my way down.”

She only grunted in response to the thank you, walking over the peer over the edge of the roof. She would need the woman’s help in getting down - the door down into the building below was locked. From the looks of it, the coast below was clear for now. Trys turned back to the woman and looked at her for a long moment. She appeared to be only a few years older than her son.

“Are you all right?” She asked with a softer tone, recalling that she had been under the assault of the male Force user. Trys began to dig through her bag, pulling out some medical supplies. She crouched down next to the girl, bringing out some bacta patches, “Red saber or blue saber, you’re still a person, right? You bleed just as I would,” Trys met her gaze for a moment, “You appear to know who I am. What’s your name?”

"I'm 19," Lilith said with a hint of annoyance in her voice. First the Jedi Master, now this woman thinking she's a kid.

But her annoyance didn't last when Trys asked if she was alright. Lilith shuffled a bit nervously and nodded, "I'll live. I've had much worse," she said, thinking back to when her master wracked lightning through her entire body. And then the time before that. She'd never get use to the feeling, but the pain level varied.

Lilith wanted to refuse the medical help, just because it felt wrong of her to accept it. She didn't deserve this kindness, but she stayed still to allow the woman to do it. Both of them needed to get off the roof, and off of Nar Shaddaa ideally.

"You probably wont ever see me again, so there's no need for you to know my name..." she answered but only when Trys finished patching her up. And once she was, Lilith didn't give Trys a chance to say anything before grabbing her again without warning and jumping off the roof.

The pain of her sudden movement was not lost on her. The patches could only do so much and so quickly, but Lilith didn't know if more men were around. They could have smothered signatures. As they landed Lilith grunted, the Force softened the impact but she still had to use her leg. "You don't seem to be the listening type, but I hope your next stop is the space port."

Trys grimaced as the girl once more grabbed her and casually walked off the roof. How did these Force users manage to do that? She bit back the urge to be sick as they sailed through the air and landed. Trys stepped back, noting that the woman winced on the landing. It was clear pain was coursing through her body. Trys wouldn’t broach the topic of her name, respecting privacy whenever anyone asked for it.

She had to grin at the comment about making it to a spaceport, “Only if your next stop is a medical bay,” Trys looked at her for a long moment. What had Talak been planting in her mind? Was he a completely different person with this girl? Was he twisting her mind and making her into that group he told her about? None of that seemed right.

“Talak doesn’t seem the type to have many ‘acquaintances’,” She said after a moment, “So if you are an ‘acquaintance’, he likely cares a great deal about you,” Trys looked around at the dead bodies, “Take care of yourself. I’m sure we’ll see one another again.”

She offered the girl a smile and turned to walk away. Trys stuffed her hands in her pockets, a billion questions burning through her mind. She wasn’t in any position to ask any of them, and she wasn’t the nosy type. This encounter would boggle her mind for days.
