Naboo, Nighttime
The small freighter Nolan stole from Nar Shaddaa had been serving him well. Although it didn't have any combat capabilities, it did enough to get him from one side of the galaxy to the other. After all, it'd be weird for him to pawn off his loot on the same planet. It was safer to jump between planets to make more credits without raising too much suspicion. After the bounty on him got out of control, Nolan changed his strategy when it came to thievery. He began making masks to cover his face and wearing a cloak and gloves. Each time, he wore a different mask. The bounty on "Nolan Lowe" got lower and lower, but now there were new bounties to find out his identity and bring him in.

Nolan had a small rule that he only pulled heists on wealthy people. He'd steal whatever their most prized possession was and pawn it off on another planet. His most recent one was a wealthy trader from Coruscant. The man owned a decorated vase with tons of valuable jewels on it, apparently passed down through his family. It was tough to get past the security on his property, but he managed to take the vase.

Now, Nolan had made his way to Naboo. He didn't bother to wear a mask or a cloak, as he didn't feel the need to. After landing his ship in a hangar, he made his way to a nearby pawn shop. He was a little surprised that it was still open at this time of night, and even more surprised at the amount of customers. Nolan made his way to the counter and pulled out the vase from his bag before setting it on the counter.

"I'm looking to sell this," He told the attendant. "How much would it be worth?"

The attendant examined the vase for a few minutes. "Hm, how about thirty thousand credits? By the way, where did you get this? It's so detailed."

Nolan put on a smile. "Oh, it was my grandmother's," He replied. "But I'm pretty tight on money right now, so I gotta sell what I can. How about forty thousand?" He leaned forward, resting an arm on the counter.

"Thirty-five, final offer," The attendant said, and Nolan agreed with a nod. Thirty-thousand credits wasn't bad at all. He didn't even realize the jewels were worth that much.

With his newly earned credits, Nolan stepped out of the pawn shop and walked down the street to find a place to stay for the night. With his hands in his pockets, he looked up at the night sky. In the past five years, he felt more free than he did in his entire life. Since the bounties didn't weigh him down as much, he didn't have to run constantly. As he became lost in his thoughts, he bumped into someone. "Gah! What the hell?"

Galen Paven had roamed around the Galaxy far and wide to find Young Force Users to train as possible Jedi Apprentices to himself. He had a few but with in that 5 year period but none would Survive. He had come across some worthy opponents and since leaving the Jedi order some years back finding an apprentice was harder then ever.
Some Days later, Galen had found himself on Naboo. He had stopped for Rations and had rented a place to stay on Theed. Walking through the Bazaar, Galen felt something familiar, something strong yet scattered, tough but weak, a Force Sensitive? Maybe. Galen had stopped and looked at some items. When he turned to leave, He bounced off a young man, early 20's or so. He stopped as the young man spoke. That feeling he had felt about 10 minutes earlier was stronger then ever, and right in front of his face

"Gah! What the hell?" spoke the young man. Galen chuckled and looked down

"
Well now, If it isnt Nolan Lowe, Nar Shadaa, I remember that feeling anywhere." Galen had chuckled as he stood there.

Nolan froze when the other man spoke, unable to process what was said immediately. He simply looked the man up and down, and could swear that he had never seen him in his life. Nar Shaddaa, huh? Nolan had been there so long and met so many people that this man could be anyone, and what feeling was he talking about? No matter what was going on, he couldn't just let this guy go while he knew Nolan's name.

"I'm sorry?" Nolan stuttered. "Who are you again? How do you know my name?" Could this possibly be the owner of the ship Nolan stole five years ago? Nolan took a step back, his shoulders tensed up. He had done so well to erase his past self and become a better thief, but he supposed that some people out their still knew him. But then again, how would he know that Nolan was the one who stole it?

Galen had chuckled. He knew who this was and Nolan knew exactly who he was. Galen removed his hood and looked at him. He was older now, yes, a bit grayer in the hair, but he was the same Lone Jedi, Well force user since he left the Jedi order. He looked around and knew he was safe. Knew he had no reason to fear any one. He could sense it, he could feel safe right where he was.

"So, You Dont remember, Thats original. You stole a Siths ship and took off after trying to scam a few people out of a ships or credits or anything else. Nolan, you know who i am, You remember. I can feel it. I can sense it. I am not the Sith you think i am, Hell, i aint a Sith at all. Ive been looking for you, I want to train you. Make you smarter"

Galen smiled. He knew Nolan could sense it. He just wanted to jog Nolan's Memory

Nolan squinted at the man, digging around in his brain to see if he could remember this person. Nope, he came up empty. So, the guy mentioned Nar Shaddaa, and he knew that Nolan stole a ship and took off. He'd never return to that moon if he could help it. That aside, Nolan could at least narrow down when they met, but his memory of anyone's face back then was rather hazy. He could remember the senator and the sith-guy clearly, but everything else was a blur. All he knew was that a fight between Jedi and Sith was about to break out, so Nolan wanted to get out of that. Still, Nolan could feel something strange about this man, almost like when he met the Sith, but less ominous.

Nolan took another step back, ready to make a break for it if he had to. "I didn't steal a ship, I'm borrowing it," He said, not wanting to get in any trouble for stealing again. He was used to smudging the truth. "I know what you're talking about, but I wasn't going to stick around when Jedi and Sith were about to fight each other." Ah, he could remember now. This man was the first Jedi that showed up. "I left not too long after you showed up, so isn't it natural that I don't remember?" The last part struck a cord with him. "And what do you mean 'make me smarter?' You think I'm an idiot?"

Galen had chuckled a bit. He did say that a little off kilt. Accusing him of being an idiot. That was not his intention. Galen shook l his head and smiled "No, Nolan. I want to train you as in the way of the Jedi. Making you smarter only comes with the knowledge that you posses. Right now you are as if a Time Bomb is ready to explode. You walk a fine line between Light and Dark. You teeter daily. You are a bit old, But the Jedi are peaceful People. I may not be 100% involved in the Jedi way any more, but taking on an apprentice and teaching what i have learned over the years of training myself could make you a great ally to the Republic!"

Galen smiled as he turned around and started to walk. "
Follow me Young Nolan and i will show you"

Nolan narrowed his eyes at the man. So, this guy was actually a Jedi, or--by what he was saying--maybe not. Nolan had to admit he had been looking for the Jedi for some time now, almost as much as he's been looking for treasure. For one to just pop up after five years seemed too good to be true. Then again, Nolan was always skeptical of anyone's kindness. After all, he himself used it to get what he wanted. He wasn't sure what the man meant by teetering between light and dark, but Nolan figured he'd go along with it for now. He put his hands in his pockets and followed him at a small distance, ready to run in case he had something else up his sleeve.

"So, you know my name, but I don't know yours," Nolan stated as he followed. "Seems kinda unfair to me. Besides, if you're going to be teaching me anything, wouldn't that be important? And what are you going to be showing me?"

"The Name, as if you might remember, is Galen Pavan. We met 5 years ago in Nar Shadda." Galen proceeded on. He had rented a small place to do his meditation. He walked up to the door and opened it. He had walked in and waited for Nolan to enter. Once entered Galen had shut the door and removed his robes. "Sit, Nolan. I will bring you something to prove to you that i am indeed a Jedi" Galen walked off to grab what he needed.

Nolan never recalled hearing Galen's name, but at least he knew now. One of his hands slipped out of his pocket and hovered over the pull-out pistol at his side as they neared Galen's house or whatever it was. He tried to make it look like he just had a hand on his hip, but he wasn't sure if it worked or not. It wasn't like it mattered anyway, since Nolan wanted to make it clear he didn't trust Galen.

Once inside the building, Nolan turned his head to look around, making note of any quick escape routes. He didn't obey Galen's request for him to sit down. "No, thanks," He answered plainly. "You go get whatever you need." He considered leaving while Galen was away fetching whatever it was, but he also didn't want to pass up the possibility that he did find a Jedi.

Galen felt that Pistol at his back. He knew. Of course he knew, he was a damn Jedi. Galen had gone into the back room of the domicile he was living in and come back out. With in his right hand, he held a Lightsaber hilt. Upon the two that were attached to his hip, this one looked substantially older and more worn. Galen Sat down, even though Nolan had refused, and looked at Nolan

"Young Man, Time is now, The Jedi are growing in Numbers again. Before long i may have to rejoin my Brothers and Sisters, but until then, Until my person quest is complete, I need a Padawan. Tell Me something Nolan, Do you sense everything around you? Sense slight tendrils or light and dark material fluttering around EVERY living creature? Sense the feel of Dread and confusion? Any of this means youre force sensitive. And I know already, I sense in you, That you know this to be true."

Galen smiled slightly.

If they were growing in numbers, why were they so hard to find? That was the first thought that crossed Nolan's mind as Galen spoke. Apparently, Galen was on the search for a padawan, though Nolan wondered why he needed one. If he were offering, Nolan didn't want to just outright refuse him. His hand lifted from the pistol on his hip, but didn't completely leave its side. Nolan wasn't too trusting just yet, but he was at least a little more receptive to what Galen had to say.

Could Nolan sense the things Galen was asking about? The simple answer would be "yes," but Nolan assumed that anyone could do that. He figured everyone did to some degree, but that his was a little more heightened than normal. His ability to predict things before they happened, things that he could sense about people themselves. Even that strange feeling he got from the man in the hangar, who was later revealed to be a Sith. These were all things Nolan had chalked up to good instincts. Of course, the possibility of it being the Force crossed his mind every now and then, after he met a particularly persistent bounty hunter, who pointed it out to him. That marked two people down who brought up the possibility.

"I...suppose I can," He replied, his tone considerably less harsh than before. "Why do you need a Padawan? Couldn't you just rejoin them by yourself? Er, not that I refuse."

"Of Course I could just return to them. Of course I could just show up and join my Brothers and Sisters of the force but the fact that I don't is the fact that What I believe, they don't want. I am No Sith, I just think differently. I teach Differently. My Master, Rest his soul, taught me to use the Force as my own, Use it to my advantage. Not to have it become one with the group, Connect with Myself. My Master and Myself had a connection, but it wasn't over powered by either of our own inner selves. No. We sensed each other, yet we weren't One. I know its confusing as of now, but you'll understand."

Galen stood up and made his way over to the cabinet. he had opened it to reveal an array of weaponry. Of course a Blaster would never be found at the side of Galen Pavan, No, A Lightsaber would be all he carried. He grabbed a smaller hilt, black and silver. He turned to Nolan and nodded. He out reached his hands with lightsaber in his palm and waited for Nolan to take it.

Nolan could kind of understand what Galen was saying. He wasn't exactly sure what the Jedi stood for, even after all these years of searching for them, but he did get the slight idea that they wanted peace in the galaxy. How they did it was rather unclear, however. What Galen was taught seemed more in-line with Nolan's way of thinking. He only ever did anything for himself, though somewhere deep down, he wanted to learn how to live as something other than a thief. With the Jedi being a bunch of do-gooders, they probably wouldn't accept someone like Nolan. This was as close as it was going to get.

Nolan's caution heightened once again when Galen made his way to what appeared to be a weapon closet. If he wasn't going to give Nolan a choice, Nolan would have to make a quick getaway. However, Nolan saw that his paranoia was unfounded when Galen was simply reaching for a lightsaber to give to Nolan. Wait, a lightsaber? Those things that could cut through anything? Nolan slowly and nervously reached out to accept it, unsure of how to handle something like it. He turned the weapon over in his hand before looking back at Galen with wide eyes.

"You're really trusting of someone you barely know," He said. "What's stopping me from turning this on and killing you?" It wasn't something he actually planned to do, just a small criticism.

Galen chuckled with the question that Nolan had just presented. Galen closed his eyes, out stretched his hands and lifted the lightsaber from Nolan's hand and turned it on, aiming the tip of it at his neck. Of course there was no danger. Galen then lifted it away from him and turned it off, placing it back in Nolan's hands.

"You have a lot to learn young one. I already could sense the fact that you would do no harm to me. On top of that, That weapon will be your life"

With a sweep of his and again, Nolan's blaster was removed from his holster and toss across the room. Galen had turned around and started to walk and motioned for Nolan to follow. Galen had walked into a large room. Practice dummies and other practice type things had been set and had the look of use to them. Scorch marks and broken parts could be seen.

Your Training starts now"

Nolan took a step back when the lightsaber lifted from his hands. He definitely was not doing that, and it became clear when it ignited and pointed at his neck. Nolan threw his hands up and braced himself for a bolt out the building, but before long, the lightsaber was turned off and back in his hand. Okay, so maybe he didn't have an advantage over Galen, even with a weapon that could cut through anything. However, Nolan wasn't one to start a fight anyway, and Galen clarified that he knew that already. How in the galaxy could he sense something like that?

Nolan flinched when his blaster was removed from the holster and launched across the room and he almost went after it, but when he really thought about it, that hold-out blaster was useless compared to the lightsaber. If he could learn to use it, he probably wouldn't need the blaster anymore. He followed Galen into the other room and looked around to observe his surroundings. This room had seen more than its fair share of use. Nolan then blinked a few times when Galen stated his training would be starting.

"Wait, seriously?"
His shoulders tensed up. "What do I do?"

Galen had nodded and sat down. He closed his eyes and began to breathe deeply. In a Matter of minutes the tables and training equipment would begin to shake and shudder. Objects began to fly and then there was nothing. Galen took another Breathe and then looked at Nolan.

"What will Happen first is you must learn to center your anger, your feelings of dread and anything else and use them. Do not use them to fight, Do not use them to Fight. Use them to balance yourself. Become one with the force, let it flow through you."

Galen was never one to teach nor was he one to do it well but this had to be. The Jedi had been scattered years prior and this was his ticket back in. Fully back in. After his master had been killed, Galen Paven had made it his personal goal to train himself and a Young One in the ways. Galen was 1/2 way there and He knew that Nolan was strong enough to learn, IF he was willing.
