| DESCRIPTION | The Z-24 is Mitrinomon's latest offering in the personal propulsion market, a hefty upgrade over their original ( and popular ) Z-6. The jetpack includes in-built targeting computer functionality, flight gyros, and a missile. The Z-24's fuel tank holds enough fuel for 10 minutes of continuous operation ( 200 three-second blasts) before it requires refuelling thanks to great advances in fuel compression. Each three second blast moves the wearer up to 150 meters horizontally or 90 meters vertically. A user of standard height and weight could reach a top speed of 150 kilometres per hour with a maximum range of fifteen kilometres. This is reduced with users who have greater than average weight, or increased with less than average weight. Directional thrusters featured gyro-stabilizers to apply counter thrust for manoeuvring and landing. The jet pack functions even in the cold of space, a notable advantage over repulsor packs. A new safety feature is the dead-fire selection, allowing the jet pack to avoid disastrous misfires of it's thrusters due to incidental knocks and bangs in battlefield conditions. The jet pack's entire feature suite is designed to be integrated into helmet set ups or HUD displays. The top of the jet pack has a turbo-projected magnetic grappling hook with 20-meter lanyard (replaceable with 100 meters). A winch inside the launcher can lift up to 100 kilograms. The grappling hook unit is replaceable with various missile types with different payload options. Mitrinomon offers, as a standard package, two Concussion missiles with a standard high explosive warhead as well as a magnetic grapple. Other warheads available are cluster munitions, gas and glop. Glop warheads are particularly popular in the Corporate Sector, with sales of Z-24's skyrocketing in that sector of space. But these warheads are NOT included in the standard commercial package due to strict contract agreements. These missile types are sold seperately through Mitrinomon-approved licensees. A noted downside to the Z-24 is how it's fuel is compressed. If ruptured, the jet pack is likely to explode and kill the user. This flaw has been deemed a worthy risk for the variable payload launcher and increased operational range. |

Too much fwoosh may lead to you flying into the side of a sail barge. This is an updated Z-6 Jet Pack, with increased fuel capacity and flight range. Fwoosh related accidents have been reduced by 20% over the previous model. |
