Lanna stepped out of the Inn, taking a breath of fresh air. She had rented one of the rooms of the place out, because she knew she would be staying on the surface of Bilbringi's capital city, Serkanas, for some time. General Maksem had assigned her to take a look at the local printing company Bilbringi Times, which was apparently spreading their critical reviews about the Jedi. Not only were they exploiting the recent, questionable actions of their Lord Vosrik, but their content was getting a large amount of attention. If Bilbiringi were ever to be brought under Jedi control, they would have to stop the blasphemous net articles, one way another. She was left with the freedom to be creative with her methods.

She was staying in the middle of the city, surrounded by various buildings and busy people tenting to their personal agendas. The young Jedi was going to meet up with an independent contractor for this job, to assist her. He apparently helped often with the Jedi's business, and showed interest in this project. Lanna was interested to see him, as she typically was to meet new people. She also had a few ideas up her sleeve.

She would meet her partner at one of the Cafe's a few blocks from the Inn she was staying at, to discuss the plan, and then get to work.

She walked, of course, as always. The General had failed to give her a speeder, or vehicle of her own until she passed a test, so she would be walking anywhere she wanted to go for the time being.

She wore a her hair down, with boots, and a black tank top. She also wore a nice scarf that her good friend Yva had made her for the holiday, over her shoulders. She was not wearing the robes she always preferred to throw on, because she did not want to get caught by any enforcers of the Bilbiringi Time's Anti-Jedi ideas. That would be most unfortunate, therefore she had to stay low.

Approaching the nice looking café, she patted her pockets. Wouldn't want to lose her credits.

The building had glass windows all around, and a woman at the door, taking a number for her table. Instantly, Lanna noticed a familiar face.

Kai's eyes darted over the faces of the hundreds of people in Serkanas, the sprawling capital of Bilbringi. He had, once more, been hired by the Jedi to go in and "do their dirty work" as he liked to put it; this time, he would be meeting a Jedi at a cafe, before they began their mission in bringing down the credibility of a local paper, the Bilbringi Times. The freedom they were given was highly unusual, however, so Kai automatically presumed he would be working with one of the best in the business. Kai was going totally incognito, something he, in his own opinion at least, was quite good at. He wore almost matte black jeans, a purple tee that was probably a few centimeters too big for him, and a white cap, that he rebelliously wore backwards, of course, that had the words "GAME ON" imprinted on the front in black.

"Do you see any Jedi?" Kai whispered under his breath to his droid, making sure none of the passers by could hear him. Once more, KF-1 beeped once in binary for response, saying simply "No".

"Well, you better keep a look out." He muttered, standing up on his toes, peering over the countless people in the city, his height coming quite advantageous in the situation. "We don't want to miss the Jedi, that would get pretty chaotic."

The cafe in which they were supposed to meet was soon coming upon on his left; it was quite an odd looking thing, completely covered in semi-opaque glass, quite an interesting idea. The cafe's revolving doors rotated as Kai and his hovering little astromech made their way inside, before being greeted by a woman at the door, giving them a table number.

"Thanks." Kai said, snatching their table number from the woman and making their way to a table, trying to stay within his 'rebellious teenager' act. He glanced back over towards the woman handing out table numbers, for only a brief moment, and next to her, he saw a very familiar face.

"Wait... Lanna, right?" Kai smirked as she approached, surprised to see the girl again after their collective incident with "Iiler", a Sith, and a little bit of a crazy one at that. Kai was about to try and start a conversation with her, but then he remember the real reason he was there.

"Oh, um... I apologize, but I'm actually expecting to meet someone here." Kai casually got up out of his seat, his gaze moving around the cafe.

She went to Kai's table, taking a good look at the person the had run into on Iiler's ship. He looked nice, in his crisp clothing. A lot less roughed up, that is. How interesting that the Army chose to pair her with this young man. It was a laughable coincidence.

He greeted her warmly, with a pinch of excitement, then he quickly smothered it out. He stood from the table they sat on, turning his attention away, and eyes around the caffe.

Lanna raised an eyebrow when he said he was waiting for someone. A Jedi.

"Kai. It's me. I'm the Jedi you get to work with."

After he let that fact process, and they both eventually sat back down, Lanna settled in. She sat up straight, and all businesslike. She was ready to share her grand master plan that she had been working on. The goal was to basically ruin the company, and any credibility they had. If they had to make up some sort of rumor, or disastrous lie to make that happen, they would be expected to get it done.

"Okay. Here's what I'm thinking. The headquarters of the Bilbringi Times, is two blocks down this main road," she said, gesturing outside one of the shiny windows. "I have a plan, but you know, if worst comes to worst, keep in mind that we can just burn the place if we have to."

She felt strange saying those words. They were almost, evil in a way. But this was a war she was talking about, and she did not simply live in the middle of it. She fabricated it. She was a piece that accelerated the war on, and for that, followed orders no matter the cost. There would be jobs lost, but that was nothing compared to living in a place ruled under the Sith.

She leaned in a little, so nobody could have the chance to overhear them, then pulled something out of her back. Her personal net screen. She tapped it, having it come on, then slid it over to her partner. "These are the articles. Study them for a moment."

Then, she subconsciously cracked her knuckles. It was an unbreakable habit. "Basically these guys are making the Jedi look terribly evil. And what's in it for them? Money of course. This kind of heavy matter on a group as influential to the world as the Jedi, is pretty gory stuff. Everyone wants to know about it."

Kai felt like he deserved a good facepalm or two, but instead he slowly sat back down, unable to look Lanna in the eyes.

"Wow, I'm a total idiot..." He muttered under his breath, quietly hoping Lanna wouldn't hear him, before his mind turned back to the mission at hand.

"Okay. Here's what I'm thinking. The headquarters of the Bilbringi Times, is two blocks down this main road," She briefly stopped and pointed outside. "I have a plan, but you know, if worst comes to worst, keep in mind that we can just burn the place if we have to." Kai could see in her eyes that it was something Lanna didn't want to end up doing, knowing exactly how she felt. Just wrong. Destroying someone's life's work isn't something that should really be taken lightly, even if they happen to be supporting causes that you don't agree with, but it is something that would have to be done if they didn't accomplish their mission.

Lanna informed him of the basic detail he had to know, before handing him a few of the Times' articles, studded with some gory images that made Kai's stomach really turn. The worst part, however, were the articles below the picture, all blaming the tragic loss and pain seen in the images on the Jedi.
Lanna cracked her knuckles, before continuing to give Kai a summary of the oh so very messed up situation. "Basically these guys are making the Jedi look terribly evil. And what's in it for them? Money of course. This kind of heavy matter on a group as influential to the world as the Jedi, is pretty gory stuff. Everyone wants to know about it." She said, keeping her voice down.

"I can't believe the nerve these guys have." Probably slightly too loudly, his anger getting a hold of him and his whole body tensing up, but he slowly calmed back down. "Sorry." He said, referring to his anger management, before restarting the conversation."You said you have a plan?"

He asked, subconsciously shaping his hands to his mouth as if he was praying, something Kai does whenever deep in thought.

"Well," She began, "I've been digging around at the information behind some of the people that lead the Bilringi Times, and I have found some pretty interesting stuff. The Chief of editing has some dirty secrets."

She took the net pad, and began flipping through it. Opening up a file she had saved for the specific research she was doing, she showed Kai. There was the image of a person she had been collecting information on. She tapped the picture to show a woman that had long dark hair, and freckles. Her eyes were light, and she looked to be in her late twenties. "She is an engineer. A very smart woman. Now if you look through her records, you will find that she has done a lot of work with the Jedi. She makes ships and heavy tech for the Jedi Army. And she's not just any piece of the puzzle. She is the head engineering administrator of the project."

She stopped, eyeing Kai to make sure he was keeping up. He seemed to be listening intently enough.

"It took me a while to dig into her medical records, and find her original birth certificate, but I eventually did. I found something very good for us. Her real last name is Eden."

She waited for it to click.

"Adrania S. Eden. She is the daughter of Norman L. Eden, the head of this newspaper company. His daughter had a name change! And this is where it really gets twisted. Miss Adrania Eden makes a lot of money. So much, that she transfered a huge some of it to aid her father's cooperation."

Lanna grinned, undeniably proud of her work. "Now we just have to expose them."

Kai sat back, as Lanna detailed her plan.

After she had finished, Kai took a few moments to think, moving back into his 'deep thought' position.

"I see. You've clearly done your research..." He smirked, only briefly, before his smile slowly dissolved back into seriousness. "Is that info going to be enough, though? I'm not trying to rain on your parade or anything, but we have to be serious about it. Just because his daughter makes money off being an engineer, which happens to work for the Jedi, do you think that will put off all the loyal readers of the Times?" He knew he was under exaggerating the situation. Kai tried to read her emotions, in case he had been too blunt, something he does much too often, but he couldn't exactly tell. Kai was listening intently to Lanna's reply, when he noticed that, a table away, it seemed like someone was listening in, or trying to listen in, on their conversation.

"Shh... Look at your four o'clock." Kai's voice toned down to a near silent whisper, making sure that the only person who could hear him was Lanna, as she slowly rotated to see the man Kai had noticed. "He's been listening to us. I don't know for how long, but I can spot a spy when I see one." The man, who was about thirty-eight years old, had a small grey head of hair, a pair of reading glasses, and he was currently buried deep in the latest issue of the Bilbringi Times. Or so he wanted the young duo to think.

She listened carefully to what Kai had to say about her findings, eyes open and gleaming with interest for his thoughts. She was happy he had questions about the information she was giving him. That way, she knew he was listening.

"Well, like I said, the Jedi are practically funding the Bilbiringi Times, and even though that's the case, they have the nerve to spread this negative criticism about the Jedi. That's pretty big. But, also, I have another interesting fact. I found out that four years ago, they lied about something. Something big. There was a shooting, and two people ended up dying. They blamed it on a local gang. But the truth was, it was a group of children who's parents worked for the Bilbiringi Times. Not a lot. Just three kids, and two of them were siblings. Of course, their rich, famous parents could not have their children exploited for their obvious felonies. So the news released an article pinning it on some gang that no longer exists. I also believe they are paying the police to cover it up. Of course, it was four years ago, and since then there have been some changes. The leaders of he police force have turned over, and there's a bunch of completely new people working there." She stopped talking, narrowing her eyes. "But I think there could still be highly corrupt members. We need to be careful, and watch out for that. Wouldn't want to run into trouble. Everyone trusts the police, after all. Oh! and there are plenty more cases like this. It's not just this one. I guess it's unfortunate to simultaneously bring down the credibility of the police force, with the newspaper, but at least it might end up doing more good. These people really need..."

She trailed off, focusing her attention on Kai. He seemed to want to speak, so she paused, letting him begin.

As soon as he pointed out that there was a person listening in on their conversation, her eyes flickered up to meet with their strange third wheel. It was a man who looked fairly casual, in slacks, and a fancy jacket. His shirt was crisp white, and his dark hair was brushed back neatly. He stood as if he were waiting for a drink.

"We should probably go."

"I'm with you." Kai muttered, quietly gathering up his belongings, KF-1 trailing close behind as Kai and Lanna made their way to the café door. Kai watched the dark-haired man's reflection on the glass windows, who was panicking as his possible paycheck was, all too literally, walking straight out the door. "I think we're in much more trouble than we first anticipated, Lanna."

After holding the door open for his droid and Lanna, Kai's mind began racing as he scanned over the faces of the people in the city, swallowing hard, he could hear the faint wailing of police sirens, getting closer and closer by the second. "C'mon, Qoda..." Kai raced across the other side of the street, his eyes still darting from one face to another, almost tripping over a beggar sitting on the side of the walkway.

"Oy! Watch it, Kai!" The beggar grumbled and for a half-second Kai wondered how the beggar knew his name, before it hit him like a star destroyer.

"Jett, you dirty scumbag..." Kai grinned, pulling the man dressed in rags into a hug, before abruptly turning to Lanna. "I'll explain later..." He whispered.

"So, kiddo. What brings you to Bilbringi?"

"My cousin and I were travelling through this sector when The White Phoenix's hyperdrive malfunctioned, so we stopped off here and we're having it fixed as we speak." Of course, Kai was lying, in case anyone was listening in on their conversation, but he knew that his friends, Jett included, would pick up on it.

"Ah... I see." Kai's friend lent in to speak. "Where do you need me to get you and your... cousin?"

"How about your place? I mean, it won't be a long stay, just until we can... fix the hyperdrive." The police sirens were definitely much louder than before, they sounded like they were only a street or two away now.

"I don't see why not." He said, turning down an alleyway with three high-octane speeders parked at the end of it. "But we'd better get going."

Lanna followed her partner, staying alert and as inconspicuous as possible. They walked swiftly out of the Café, taking care to throw away their half finished drinks, and trash. Kai's droid followed them along. When he opened the door, the girl walked under his arm, and peered out into the street. Is was not densely filled, but it was not empty either. The people went about their business, just as Lanna and Kai seemed to be. The streets were nice, and speeders made their ways up and down the roads. Just as traffic slowed, Kai crossed the street, a bit fast for Lanna's taste. She preferred to walk in such a way that would lead her to be unnoticed. Of course, the oncoming sirens from the horizon begged to differ from that mere desire. She moved along quickly as well.

Somewhere on the walkway, Kai stumbled. He spoke out with an air of excitement to the man he had apparently tripped over. He hugged the strange encounter, and got to talking a bit. The girl followed closely with them, along with the droid. She listened closely, noting that she was now Kai's cousin, and that their ship had malfunctioned.

The man seemed to be eager, or at least prepared to help them out if they needed. Kai suggested they stay at his place, and the man kindly obliged. Lanna had assumed he was homeless, but apparently not. After all, they could use a place to set up camp.

Turning the corner, there was a row of speeders. The man took one, and Kai took one. The young Jedi took a glance down the line, but she could not muster up the courage to take the chance of wiping out. She was highly anxious when it came to driving. She turned back around, and climbed on the back of Kai's vehicle. Picking her scarf up from her neck, and bringing it onto her hair, she tossed the end over her shoulder. Identity concealed, check.

The two of her current accomplices pressed the acceleration, and they were off and down the street, making their way to the man's home.

"You know where to go, right kid?" Jett asked, while fastening on his helmet, and chucking Kai one, too.

"It's been a while, but I've got a good enough idea..." Kai said sliding a helmet on, briefly glancing back at the young Jedi behind him. "Might you have another, by any chance?"

"Only the one spare, I'm afraid. I thought you were coming by yourself..."

"I guess that's fair enough." Kai removed his mask and passed it back to Lanna. "Let's get going." After she had her helmet on, Kai put his foot on the gas, making sure to go as far away from the ever wailing sirens as possible. After escaping the police, Kai and Lanna separated from Jett, who had taken KF-1 on his speeder, and went on their way towards Jett's so-called 'house', if you can call it that.

"I said I would explain later, didn't I? Well I guess now is later." Kai took a deep breath. "If you hadn't already picked it up, his name is Jett Qoda, and he is one of the galaxy's most revered, and infamous Mandalorian bounty hunters." Kai held his breath in hope that Lanna wouldn't kill him on the spot, but luckily Kai was driving the speeder at that point, so it wouldn't have ended well for Lanna if she did.

"I trust him, however. He happened to be there at the same cantina, on the same day that my father died." Kai stopped briefly, gritting his teeth, doing his best to show no heartache to the Jedi behind him, as a lone tear dripped out of his caramel-colored eyes and rolled down his cheek. "And although he has a prickly exterior, he is a brilliant person on the inside, so when he saw me weeping over my father's corpse, he took me in. He taught me how to become practically invisible in public, and in return I taught him the basics of lightsaber combat." Lanna was probably wondering why a revered, and presumably rich bounty hunter would be seemingly homeless, so Kai began to explain once more.

"The 'beggar' is one of his favorite incognito techniques, one that almost no-one suspects, and was the first one he taught me, so when I asked him to meet me outside of the Cafe with a method of escape, in case anything was to go south, he decided to conjure up some memories." Kai quietly chuckled to himself, a flood of memories, both happy and sad, pouring back into his head, but before he could tell another story, the lights went totally black as they entered an old subway tunnel. Only thirty seconds later, Kai and Lanna reached the end of the subway's tracks, confronted by a large concrete wall.

"It seems we have arrived." Kai smirked, pulling up their speeder at the end of the dark tunnel's wide corridors, and dismounting, whilst whipping out a torch to shed some light on the situation, and the wall. "Now where is that door?"

Lanna was not terribly disappointed in Kai's decision to take the assistance of a bounty hunter. She herself took up the offers of shady individuals when she really needed to get something done, and she needed it quickly. According to what he was telling her, he even trusted the bounty hunter. he girl did not particularly mind his decision to trust, but she would keep herself alert for the time being. It was not as if bounty hunters and lower level individuals had no morals. They were capable of doing good, as long as it followed their personal moral code. He raised Kai, and for that, she had to thank.

They drove up through the tunnel, and reached a dead end. The speeder came to an abrupt halt, curving off to the side. The two of them jumped out, and began looking around. Her partner had a torch, which he waved around to get a closer look at the blank wall.

"There's nothing here," Lanna said. She touched the wall, rubbing her fingers across the rough surface of the stone. "Are you sure-" She paused. "Hey, look over there." She pointed up to the right corner of the ceiling. "There's a lever." Eyeing it closely, it seemed like something she could grab with the force. "I think there's one on that side, too. You do that one and I'll handle this one. Okay?"

Once they had positioned themselves, and focused, they each pulled down a lever, using the energy around them. Then they heard sounds. A grinding was present, and then it hit her that they wall was falling towards them.

"Back up!" She exclaimed, a bit loud. The two of them leapt back, out of the way, just as the stone wall came crashing down on their speeder. Metal bits were broken off, and dust was lifted up from the ground around them. Lanna had turned away, to avoid getting sprayed with bits of sand and stone. After the loud smack of the stone hitting their poor vehicle, the young Jedi turned, whipping off her clothes. "Well then. What a grand entrance."

She was ready to sit down at a safe place to log onto the Net, and release all the information she had collected on the Bilbiringi Time's official board. Then, she would be finished, and free to sit back as the mass chaos over their company ensued. There would be no way to get back from such a place, and the her job would be done.

"Let's go, Kai." She muttered, giving him a nod.

Before long, the two intrepid teens found two levers, placed parallel on opposite sides of the wall, both left and right. After the pair both pulled the levers, Lanna alerted Kai just in time, as the concrete wall fell flat on top of the speeder, totally crushing the bike, and almost Kai along with it.

"Thanks for the heads up." Kai said, taking a deep breath, and picking up one of the chunks of speeder that had sprayed out from under the fallen wall, contemplating how well he would've survived if Lanna hadn't warned him.

"Let's go, Kai." She nodded over at him, before making her way into Jett's hideout, and Kai soon followed. After Kai was inside, the huge concrete wall lifted itself back into place, and what sounded like a droid began to speak.

"Welcome back, Master Foxx." The synthesised voice bounced around the vast white space that was the bounty hunter's undiscovered base of operations.

"Ah, Florence!" Kai spoke, turning towards the security camera positioned in the far corner of the large room. "Would I be correct in noting that Captain Qoda has updated your vocal synthesizer since we last met?"

"Correct, Master Foxx. Who would be this young Jedi you have brought with you?" Florence's female-sounding electronic voice inflected upwards at the end of her sentence.

"Lanna, meet Florence, an artificially intelligent computer that controls the entire mainframe of Jett's HQ. Florence has access to all of the computers and security cameras in this vicinity, and uses them as her eyes and ears, unlike most droids." Kai chuckled to himself, as he flashed back to the countless adventures he and Jett had. "Jett programmed most of her, but the AI was my handiwork. Sadly, I may have coded her a bit too well... She has an IQ of 193, and can't be beaten at holochess."

Kai little recollection was interrupted by the loud thud of a concrete wall slamming on the ground.

"Sorry, you two. The cops caught up with me, and although it took a few extra minutes I did manage to get away." The bounty hunter waltzed into the room, still cladded with his signature Mandalorian armour.

'We need to get on with this...'

"Do you mind if we use the main computer, Jett?"
Kai said while turning to his old friend.

"Be my guest, kiddo. As you will have noticed, I've shuffled everything around since you last were here, so the main terminal is two doors down the right hallway with a big sign on the door that says 'TERMINAL'." The bounty hunter smiled under his mask, as Lanna and Kai headed down the hallway to the main computer room.

Lanna looked around, observing the bounty hunter's home. It was big and elaborately designed. From his carpet, to his excessive technology. She looked at Kai, wondering if u had ever been to this place. Perhaps he grew up there. Or maybe not.

"This is a nice place."

She jumped a bit, surprised to hear a sudden voice. It was that of a female, and it sounded awfully monotone. An AI programmed piece of technology. How fascinating. She was a robot. One that resembles a young girl, but stil of course, looked very robotic.

She knew Lanna was a jedi, which was interesting. The little droid bounced off, and as she did, the man, the bounty hunter entered one more. He seemed to care little about what they did, and let them continue on with their work, and left them undisturbed.

They end to the man's computer, which was large and highly convenient. The young Jedi thought a he would have to do her work on her Net pad, but apparently not.

She signed in, and began clicking away, opening various message boards, and sending the information out into space.

"This is perfect."

***
Twelve days later, Lanna had continued to stay at her Inn. She was not entirely sure what Kai was up to as they had split up after they finished their work, because they did not want any suspicions to be tagged onto them.

Since the execution of their plan, the people had hit the printing company hard. They were outraged. Lawsuits were flying everywhere, and the Bilbringi Times were getting heavily investigated.

They were apparently going into debt, as well. How unfortunate for the pack of liars, thought the girl.

She walked to the coffee shop once more, here she would meet up with Kai to say her goodbyes. Her job was done. She had crippled the company to ensure they would not be posting again. At least, not about the Jedi.

Kai took a deep breath of fresh air before he entered the glass-covered café, at which he had rendezvoused with Lanna almost two weeks before. They had done it. The Bilbringi Times had been hammered with fines, court-cases and a whole lot of criticism from rival papers. Only earlier that day, the paper had folded, it's headquarters, burned, therefore, quite ironically, the Times was history.

This time, however, Kai was coming to the café alone (besides Lanna, of course), due to the fact that his droid, KF-1, was spending some quality time with his newfound friend 'Florence', at Jett's hideout (which still to this day operates entirely unseen by the Bilbringi government).

"Two Serkanas cafs, please." Kai handed over his credits to the cute Twi'lek barista at the counter, before realising something. The Twi'lek no longer interested him whatsoever. For a brief moment, Kai wondered why, before he caught a fleeting glimpse of Lanna on the other side of the café and rushed over with the two freshly brewed cafs.

"A toast to our success." Kai smiled sliding the hot beverage across the tabletop to his Jedi counterpart. "All the best cafs in the galaxy are brewed right here in Serkanas, so enjoy."

Lanna entered the Cafe' smiling when she saw her companion. He already had a drink for her, which she took, willingly. She did highly enjoy the sugary taste of some caffeine every now and then. She would need a bit of energy, because today she was getting out of there. Onto a ship, and off to Dantooien. General Maksem seemed interested in giving her some work to do, which she accepted, gratefully. She did enjoy a bit of work to set her mind on.

They sat at the table they came to last time, and sipped away at their drinks, making small talk, but mostly watching and listening to the people around them. The paper was no longer being made. That made some sort of pride well up in the girl. She had successfully accomplished what she had hoped for. Her mission was done, and she was very thankful to Kai he assisting her as he did.

"Here," she said, sliding a card across the table. "You get paid on this."

Just then her attention was brought away, but the people around her suddenly whispering and muttering. The girl listened closely, trying not to lose any words.

"Apparently it just burned down. They were driven so far into debt over the passed for
days that the administrators and owners didn't know what to do. So they burned it."

Lanna stood up.

"Goodbye Kai, it was lovely getting to see you again! You take care, and let me know if you ever decide to work with the Jedi again." She gave a slight, polite bow, then turned away and left.

She walked a few blocks down the road to find something that made her stomach turn. The Bilbringi Time's did in fact, burn down. She didn't know whether to feel guilty, or relieved. Anyhow, There would be no more criticism for at least years to come.
