The United Commonwealth is gearing up to run a whole lot of missions. At present, we don't have enough bodies to get everything done in a timely fashion, so we're looking to hire private contractors.
If you want a rundown of what we've been doing, here it is.
We freed the world of Wazta from pirate influence. We then turned and chased those same pirates clean out of the system, and kicked them off a local moon. The Commonwealth secured the moon of Cuthbern and, again, ejected pirate forces in the process. We're currently tracking down and destroying elements of the pirate organization known as the Crimson Raiders with the goal of rendering Wazta Sector safe and stable. We'll be doing the same work in adjacent sectors.
If freeing people from the fear of pirates and promoting freedom and democracy isn't your bag, then maybe money is. We pay well. How well we pay depends on the job, but rest assured our contractors are handsomely rewarded. You'll also get access to a lot of free tech, in addition to medical benefits.
With that out of the way, here's what we need.
If you're interested, you can sign up on a per-contract basis or a permanent basis.
Contractors hired on a per-contract basis are, essentially, temporary hires. We bring you on for a job, you do it, we pay you and discharge you. A permanent basis is exactly what it says on the tin. You're with us 'till we fire you or you say goodbye. Permanent hires will be added to the official faction roster, so if you're interested in that go to the sign-up thread, here.
Contractors will be expected to work with Commonwealth personnel and/or allies of the Commonwealth. You'll be paid a fixed amount agreed upon at the start of the contract, with the potential for bonuses depending upon mission completion and the accomplishment of secondary objectives. Payments are per-person; ie, if you sign on for a mission paying 15,000, you get 15,000, the guy next to you gets 15,000, so on and so forth.
If you're interested, read the collapse below. It lists all currently available contracts, their status and length, and approximate payments. Contracts are available to all independents regardless of ties to an indie faction. You're not joining us, you're just doing a job for us.
Note that all missions will require someone to NPC the hostile force. Interactions with Commonwealth personnel will require someone from the Commonwealth, so when your thread needs one of us, post and we'll poke our heads in for you.
If a contract interests you, post in this thread. Otherwise, I'll be using this thread to keep track of all contracts presently being run by the Commonwealth.
Note: You can trade contract payment in for unique Commonwealth vehicles, weapons, and equipment. Just ask!

Pilots - our fleet air arm is skinny and we've got some gigs coming up that require some skilled pilots. If you're experienced with dropships and light freighters, then you've got the skillsets we're looking for. We also need experienced fighter pilots. If you have your own fighter, you'll be compensated for fuels, repair, rearmament, and if necessary, for the loss of your craft.
Engineers - We're setting up factories on New Cyona, repairing and refitting ships, and in general doing a lot of work that requires very little shooting but a whole lot of wrench-turning and welding. There are also upcoming jobs for engineers to help capture and wrest control of warships from Pirate forces.
Scientists - We need some eggheads for our R&D department on New Cyona. Right now the focus is on medical research and development, with the goal of easing our reliance on bacta and other hard-to-get medical supplies.
Mercenaries - Our Commonwealth Marines can't be everywhere and do everything all the time. We need more bodies to help exert pressure on the Crimson Raiders, and to take on missions our Marines aren't free to do. There will be some wetwork missions involved, and you may be called upon to destroy non-pirate elements we deem threatening to the security of the Wazta sector.

Contract C-918/E, 'Violent Requisition' - Awaiting Personnel
The Crimson Raiders have converted an old Gladiator-class Star Destroyer into a starbase. It sits in deep space on the fringes of the Wazta sector, and serves as a launchpad for hyperspace-capable fighters to conduct raids against nearby shipping lanes. Intelligence suggests that the Gladiator's armaments are offline and her crew is skeletal. You are to board the outpost, free any hostages they may have and ascertain the value of the stolen goods kept aboard. If especially valuable (ie, large cache of modern small arms or ammunition), secure the bridge and lock down the outpost and wait for reinforcements to arrive, then clear the ship. If not particularly valuable or highly illegal (ie, spice), set the ship's self destruct.
The secondary objective is to set the autopilots of all small craft carried by the Gladiator to hyperspace to Wazta, where they will be captured and pressed into Commonwealth service.
Payment is 18,000cR, plus a 3,000cR bonus for completion of secondary objective.
Roster:
1. Tylas (Fat Possum)
2. Vica (Bee)

Contract C-919/D, 'Liberators' - Awaiting Personnel
We've identified a Crimson Raider heavy transport carrying 2,000 Galactic Alliance refugees who have been forced into slavery. They've made a stopover on Ryoone to refuel. Attack and seize the transport before they can escape and before they can cause harm to the refugees. Once under your command, bring the transport to Cuthbern.
The transport will be in a Crimson Raider facility. Old mass driver-based flak guns are in the vicinity, and it's rumored that they have two captured AT-ST's. It's very well guarded, all in all, and you'll need some help to get in. You'll have access to shoulder-fired anti-tank missiles and a wide range of small arms to help you get in, but we can't spare any personnel for this mission. You'll be on your own. We estimate no more than 25-30 hostile personnel in the facility, most of them non-combat crewmen. The transport has a similar number of personnel, plus 20 slavers. We would appreciate it if the captain of the vessel could be captured alive so that he can stand trial. A handsome bonus will be paid if he's brought back alive.
If necessary, you can offload the slaves and arrange alternate transport. Either way they must arrive alive.
Payment is 15,000cR, plus a 5,000cR bonus for completion of secondary objective.
Roster:
1.Volya
2.Bauren
3.Minuteman
4.SoB

Contract P-2041, 'Wings for Hire' - Awaiting Personnel
Simple escort mission. Fly cover for two freighters loaded with weaponry to Bespin. They'll be departing from Wazta. Only problem. The Crimson Raiders have decided to stop letting us kick them around and they're actively trying to intercept every ship we send out. They're doing a piss-poor job of it, but there's always a chance they'll do it right. We've assigned escorts to as many ships as we can, but we're stretched too thinly to guard the shipment. Take a wing of mercenaries to protect the transports, then escort them back home. Intel reports that two pirate corvettes and fighter escort are lurking on the route you'll be taking, so be careful.
You'll get a bonus if you manage to destroy or disable both capital ships. Heavy anti-shipping torpedoes of Kushari design will be made available to you - one torp should be enough to cripple a corvette.
Payment is 16,250cR, with a 8,000cR bonus per destroyed pirate warship.

Contract C-4432, 'Shoulders of Giants' - Awaiting Personnel
Small problem on Wazta rapidly turning into a big, messy, downright ugly problem. A trandoshan known to trade in Wookiee slaves, Vosska Blackhand, has turned up in our territory. He went to ground the moment we started looking for him and hasn't showed his face, which isn't surprising - if I were him, I wouldn't want to meet a Makuran Railgun face to face either. Thing is, we need him found and killed, and we need it done quickly. Blackhand and his thugs are on-planet with the aim of taking a Kushari slave, and while so far they've failed we're not going to allow them to continue jeopardizing the safety of our personnel. Find Vosska Blackhand, find his thugs, and kill them to the last man.
Payment is 800 credits per head per slaver, and 2,000 credits for Vosska. You're liable for civilian casualties and property damage on this one, so don't go bombing a cantina to get him. Wazta is our world, we'd rather you not trash it.
Total payment, assuming all slavers taken, is 16,000 credits for 20 slavers and 2,000 credits for Vosska. Everyone gets the same payment for Vosska, but the bounty on his men is per participant - ie, if you get 10, you get 8,000 credits. If you get 2, you only get 1,600 credits.

Here's the deal.
The Dothtron Salvage Corporation has reared its head on Cuthbern. How they found out about the world is beyond us, but they're here and they're doing some significant damage to several planetside shipyards we've been restoring to operational status. The salvage boss in charge of the operation, a Gungan by name of Nassil, has refused to respect our claim to the world. Worse, as his ship is an unarmed civilian vessel, military law prohibits us from simply blasting it out of the sky and putting an end to his theft of our property. That's where you come in. Take a team to the Hathdon shipyard and confront Nassil. Demand that he leave. If he refuses, encourage him - he if will not be encouraged, arrest him. Expect things to get very ugly, very quickly. He's a decidedly unpleasant, corrupt individual, and his workers are little better than common criminals.
Payment is 15,000 credits on completion of the mission. If things get ugly, there's a bonus 5,000 credits hazard pay.
