I was making my way to a meeting yesterday evening and decided to stop by my local shop. I purchased a copy of "i" the quality newspaper and the front pager was: "Gove: Prepare to start failing your exams." The GCSE and A Level exams are going ot be upped in difficulty with "complacent" or "wrong" head teachers fired.

Studying for my A Levels as it is... this doesn't boad well for my very bad examination skills. :CNot

It needs to be done.

Thousands of kids ;eave 6 form every year but can't get jobs.

If they leave with qualifications that look better then it is better for employers.

Indeed, but in my opinion Gove needs to consider that a student's abilities may not be best reflected by a piece of paper.

Too true.

I remember when I did my CAT test I was one of the worst in my year.

I left School with three Bs in A levels.

I'm very much against standardized testing on principal. From what I know of the British school system this is going to effect a lot of students (iirc A Level is like a 2 year thing that prepares UK students for Uni?). Better start studying. :P
